She recently said that she has had 5 surgeries on her right knee, 1 surgery on her left knee, and 1 surgery on each foot. It's amazing that she's back competing. That's why Simone admires her so much.
Important detail: during the 2019 ACL tear, Rebeca considered quitting gymnastics. Simone called her and told her she could NOT QUIT. That she'd worked too hard to quit. That her country loved her and believed in her. Simone told her she wanted to compete against her! When the very best ever gasses you up, you LISTEN❤
I'm from Brasil, bro. And a lot of brazilian's women had won olympic medals. But now, Rebeca is the most sucefull olympic athlete of the country history with 6 medals (2 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze).
Queen is an overstatement given how many Simone has won so far. I'm not understating Rebeca's success just pointing whatever you meant by this comment. I'm not even keeping up with the Olympics and even I know Simone is dominating.
@@itsyaboypeterwell I’m not trying to bash Simone or anything either but you’re only dominating until you aren’t, so…. Here Rebecca was better, she stuck her landings and did not go out of bounds twice like Simone did. So she IS the queen. Gymnastics is not only about who has the highest difficulty. It’s also who performs the difficulty they have to their very best. Which is what Rebecca excelled at in this floor final. And that’s coming from a huge Simone fan
I have also had 3 knee surgeries on the same leg, including an ACL reconstruction surgery, and I can’t ever imagine getting back out there and going back to my old fitness level let alone doing PEAK ELITE GYMNASTICS after all that 🤯 mine was also spread apart over many years and not 4 years- physical therapy alone takes 4-6 months!! That meant that Rebeca had to relearn how to walk 3 times before building her strength back again to be able to do gymnastics all in the span of 1 year each. It’s so mind blowing, I can’t wrap my head around it! Rebeca is truly a GOAT of determination, resilience, courage and strength! Incredible!! 🤯

Every time I see her She has a lot of resemblance to a person I cared deeply about when I was younger. Makes me route for her even more. She is very talented
In 2021 she the firt FEMALE BRAZILIAN GYMNAST to won an Olympic medal. A lot of Brazilian female athletes had already won Olympic medals in various sports. The way you spoke made it seem like no Brazilian woman had won before.
Damn, I didn't know about the 3 ACL tears. Damn. That's crazy. It's a wonder she walks without a limp, let alone doing flips and intricate gymnastic routines. Props to her 👏🏾👏🏾. 🎉🎉🥇
First brazilian woman to win and olympic medal? The first two brazilian women to win olympic medals were Jaque and Sandra Pires in 1996. Do your fucking research before talking about my country.
Geez, shut up. Just watch the competition. Rebeca did near flawless difficult competition while the only person with a harder routine, Simone, stepped out of bounds twice, which cost her a lot of points. Even before the score was announced Simone was saying she thought Rebeca got that one cause she knew she made mistakes. It's part of the sport, higher difficulty means higher risk, and the risk didn't pay off for Simone this time round and she recognizes that and was happy for Rebeca. It's ridiculous that people will still question the results.
She knows her limitations. That's why it doesn't make the elements difficult, because of the risk of a new injury. It's very sad, because she is spectacular. she is excellent. sad that she lost years and years to injuries. that she came back and won medals is incredible and worthy of admiration.

three back to back to back injuries to the SAME KNEE? that's insane, seeing what she did now

I love the sisterhood amongst these young ladies. Bravo Brazil 🇧🇷

She was the first brazilian woman to win gold in gimnastics, he got it a little wrong but i think that's what he meant
She’s the queen. She deserves all the accolades. Wishing her continued success.

Great competitors!. They've shown how mature they're, that they don't have to be enemies just cause they're competing against each other.
She has such good energy. 🇧🇷 Brava Brazil.

Rebeca is super talented, much respect ✊🏿
Overcoming Derrick Rose odds and winning gold is crazy
She’s friggen awesome! It was so exciting to see her take home another gold this year
She is not the first Brazilian woman to win an Olympic medal. She is the first Brazilian woman to win gold in gymnastics!!
Not even, Daiane dos santos won gold.
@@ricardojorgefilho4172 Daiane nunca conquistou uma medalha de ouro nas olimpíadas! Só no mundial😅
Not in The Olympics @@ricardojorgefilho4172

Proud
She is great, but she is not the first brazilian woman to win a medal. I think the first ones were Jackie and Adriana in 1996 in beach volleyball.

I said three years ago, back on Tokyo 2020, that Andrade would beat Biles in 2024 in at least one event, and she did it
She was not the first Brazilian woman to win a medal.

Good for her 👏🏽 👍🏾. Unfortunately, that injury will dog her for the rest of her life.
Hopefully as technology advances, they'll be able to create a legitimate option for strengthening the ligament.
