IMHO to say politics never affects me means someone else is carrying your water so your life can be blessed and carefree. That the loss of wage/buying power for every working person in America is just north of 16,000 dollars/yr. doesn't really affect people that "clear" over $150K per year. But for those in the middle class that make 60K (not clear) or less, a year it is devastating. Politics DOES affect millions of Americans. There are millions that can no longer afford a used car, certainly not a house, -some people (seriously) are choosing between gas to get to work and Food.
