For months we hear about the ratio of combatants to civilian casualties. Israel get that number to virtually 100%, and the response is?? You guessed it.

I hear a lot of people talking about the 12 children that were killed by Hizballa (and I appreciate they remember them), but please remember that those were not the only casualties from the missiles in the past year. There were thousands of missiles and despite the fact that people living in the northern part of Israel were evacuated, still some were killed. There were even people who came to get their belongings and were specifically targeted in there home or their car!
Lebanon is a sovereign country and effectively declared war on Oct. 8.

I disagree about the contention that Trump and Kamala don't have a different position on Israel. Kamala opposes the delivery of 2,000 lb munitions precision guided. She's also repeatedly called for a ceasefire with conditions that would leave Hamas in power. Trump on the other hand wants Hamas to be defeated and wants Israel to have a victory. It's extremely different. It's night and day.

In retrospective. Was the UK decision to ban HUAWEI equipment in their telecommunications network premature ? Hell no !! The Chinese could do that in the future just as the Israelis have done. I think the point about blowing up your phone is not very well thought out. Yes, if you buy something that contains a bomb, and a method of remotely detonating that bomb, then you can be blown up. We used to be worried about seven million Hebrew speakers (with some territory between the river Jordan and the Mediterranean sea) under the threat of 350 million Arabic speakers (whose empire surrounds them, with all of the territory between the river Tigris and the Atlantic Ocean). Sympathies change.
I often think of Egypt, the most populous Arab country (proudly so), and how before the Muslim onslaught, they were a Christian, Coptic-speaking* nation. That nation had, to say the least, a noteworthy history. A mere eight years after the death of Muhammad, Egypt was an Arabic-speaking, Muslim country. In another seventy years, the Arabs would enter southern Spain. I don't know how the native North Africans spoke or worshiped, but it wasn't Arabic/Islamic. At least Christianity took twelve hundred years to persuade the Europeans of the value of their point of view. It took the Arabs 80 years. That suggests one of two things:
1) The North Africans were happy to abandon their culture and language, embracing the clear superiority of the newcomers' language and culture OR
2) Coercion was involved.
The last Jews left Egypt (under duress) in 1956. I'm pretty sure the Christians are on the way out. There were 40,000 Greek speakers in 1940. Now there are 5,000. There's a pattern there.
At least the English FEEL bad about the destruction of the Celtic languages in their neck of the woods, as the Americans recognize the European crimes against original American culture. There are active, if under-funded, efforts in Ireland and America to restore the original languages before the old people are all gone. Nobody has matched the efforts to fan the embers of a moribund Hebrew language spoken only by a few back-woods Palestinian Jews into a national language (albeit small.) Hooray for that effort. But Arab culture seems pretty uncomfortable with what they must think is an impurity in their midst. I can get that kind of mentality with MAGA, and I don't like it in either place.

I think Israel has had all it’s going to take from these rabid zealots. There could be peace and a Palestinian state tomorrow if the area would reject jihadi Islam and accept Jewish autonomy. Gazas beaches could be one of the most sought after tourist destinations in the world. The economy and standard of living for Gaza could be transformed in a very short time. Instead of a ceasefire the west should be calling for an end to jihadi practices of Hamas and Hezbollah.
President re-imposing the sanctions on Iran should reach people! If Biden had not lifted them and pulled Iran out of being broke, we probably would not have the problems in the Middle East
