    If you don't do anything about it nothing will ever change. Report them and keep following up with it. If you don't react it doesn't pay to keep telling us about it. Get the authorities on it and stay on it.

      I don’t think so, though you should definitely trespass them. Merely being on private property while being armed does not warrant jail time, and I’m sure you can see how that would violate some rights. Unless you feel like any property owner could impose jail time over you carry a firearm.
      That being said, yes, trespassing them is the first step. Anything pertaining to jail time would be far further down the line.

    Contact your game warden and sheriff with your evidence.
    File trespass on them.
    Does not appear you have evidence to file theft on them.
    Several states put points against one's license privilege if a person is found guilty of trespass.
    Hopefully, this might teach them a lesson.
    This recommendation is from a former game warden.

    • @philstocks7859
      @philstocks7859 Месяц назад +14

      state @ireneswasey3688 I don't know what state you live in or what your legal experience is.
      To obtain a search warrant, you need to have probable cause.
      Simple trespass does not give an officer probable cause.
      This is where the game warden's or sheriff's investigatory skills come in.
      By interviewing trespassers separately, you can sometimes get enough information to have probable cause.
      Hopefully, there will be an experienced and skilled game warden or sheriff's deputy to do the interviews.

      Its nice to own so much property, but it would be nice if you allowed hunters to hunt your grounds. 99.9 % of hunters would not sue you if they got hurt like some people are posting. this is why i hunt in national forest as not to put up with the BS of property owners who do not want hunters on their property, i know you pay the taxes and all. But i can remember growing up hunting, people were a lot more lenient towards hunters on their property. we used to stop and ask if we were allowed to hunt and most would say just go you do not have to ask, but you have my permission to hunt when ever you want.
      Boy have times changed.

    • @joycep9956

      @kennylavay8492 As you said “we used to stop and ask”. Unfortunately a lot of people feel entitled to do what ever they want and don’t even have the common courtesy to ask. Back when I owned a large property people came onto our property and did all kinds of damage to our fields and fences. Those are the types of people that have created the issues. NOT the property owners.

Then the game commission wonders why there are less and less hunters out there. No one wants to put up with the BS of getting turned down constantly.

    One day I was driving down my road as I had just left to go shopping with my sister and my niece she was like 4 years old at the time. All the sudden I heard gun shots and I could tell that someone was hunting because I knew what their truck looked like. So I immediately called the police. The gunshots were so close I’m surprised it didn’t hit my car. Well I turned around and met the police and game warden at my house. They saw a deer, shot across the road and it turns out they were all drunk and had been drinking. I’m just thankful we didn’t get hurt or killed but they were arrested immediately.

    I would advise to report. I lived on a 300 acre farm with one pond along an isolated road. A truck stopped along road which was clearly posted and entire property fenced, started shooting at ducks in the pond. Our home and original barn were up a slight hill. The bullets were hitting our steel barn, we could hear the noise and walked of barn out to see what was happening. We often were walking different directions at that barn to get to our other three barns which were out of site behind with two more large ponds. My husband followed carefully and got the plate number. Police and game wardens raided the home shortly after, denied being in area but they had a witness in a police car. They had tow trucks down the road to remove vehicles and took all the weapons on the property. Very scary for us as we had small children and a large livestock count.

They will just keep coming back if you don't put a stop to it. Also by reporting them, it's documented so if something happens it's on record that you reported it. You also want to let them know that you are aware of them trespassing onto your property so they know they are being watched. Best of luck to you on whatever you decide to do. There are people who will help or just maybe like to talk. But we knew his name, where he lived, his history of marriages, and kids, etc before it stopped. I had the guys name and where he lived within a few hours! So share your information right down to the pics of the truck and tags. Someone will see it and report to you who it is. Or the trespassers will see it and go someplace else. He did come and apologize. When he did that and we had a CLEAR understanding I took it off face book. It's been 2 years and no more issues.

He was arrested and charge for trespassing. He’s waiting to go to court we don’t know what his fines are going to be yet but he was even a tough guy with the game warden he said he’s lived around here his whole life like that gives them permission to trespass on my property.

Found out half hour later, it was from 40 feet away. Careless hunter, failed to identify his target. He spent 6 months in jail, and lost his gun licence. WOW HE GOT AWAY WITH MURDER. i agree, he may not be able to fence the property because of its size but he can definitely gate the access routes including the driveway. plus add extra hidden cameras to record them if they still come on the property.

    You need to install several rows of spikes into the road. About 5 feet apart, some 20 feet in all.
    That would be 4 rows of spikes, permanently installed.

    Definitely get authorities involved.
    1) You have your kids that go about your property.
    2) It keeps YOU safe from any frivolous lawsuits
    3) They will be on authority radar so they will think twice about trespassing, poaching and stealing from anyone else
    4) They don't care they are STEALING from you AND could potentially hurt you or someone in your family.
    5) Every call you put in is another mark on their "chances" list.

    I would call the sheriff and I would also call the county attorney/prosecutor as well having an attorney pursue this through the appropriate channels or courts. If you don’t want it to continue then you need to react to it now. If you don’t, the signs mean nothing. Just on the trespassing of course.

  • @garydailey809
    @garydailey809 Месяц назад +1

    You did the right thing by clearly posting no trespassing signs. I suggest you pick a spot on your road well inside your property line and setup a homemade spike strip. If you anchor the spike strip securely so it can't move, it should puncture both front and rear tires. Camoflage it and they probably won't be aware when they drive over it. If you get lucky, any trespassing vehicle will still be there when the sheriff arrives. This worked for me once, except for the part about calling the sheriff. The victim knew I did it, yet I never saw him or his pals again.

  • @kar702
    @kar702 Месяц назад +22

    I could hear their footsteps through the camera as they traveled down the road which means they could’ve heard you speaking out of your camera maybe. I think you should’ve yelled “turn your hind end around and get back to where you came from, this is private property.”😂 Would have scared them 😂. Yes, definitely bother the game warden and the sheriff with this definitely definitely because they can track them down to the license plate and tell them don’t do it again.

    They could be doing this on other properties too. You need to report it to the Sheriff and the game warden. They will either take action or not, but that's not on you. If they see a pattern of reports they'll be more likely to prosecute and you will never know if you were first! It's so dangerous. Texas Deb ❤️

    Regardless whether they stole anything, they trespassed and disregarded your warning signs. The police/sheriff need to get in touch with them and give them a personal warning to stay off your property. If they come back again, the police will be able to arrest or cite them to help try to deter them from coming back.

    Take your pictures & videos to your local police dept. & say "I would like to prosecute illegal trespassers on my property & that You have video & picture proof with the truck & license plate date & time.". Then give them your info. Also you should contact a laywer. These guys need to be taught a harsh lesson for trespassing. You would also be doing a kind favor to all of your neighbors as well, keeping them safe from these guys! Send them to court!
