I LOVE your common sense approach to NOT allow a fashion house control over your emotions/money. The arrogance of these fashion houses is so staggering. It's our money, and without the consumer, their products will not sell. I am a lover of LV and Chanel, specifically Chanel, and have spent a staggering amount of dollars on their products so I totally get the FOMO. I too have taken better control of my FOMO if late, and it feels empowering. Rosey 😊
I perfectly understand what you say and I totally agree! Also, I hate this kind of pressure, and I don't think it is clever from luxury houses to act like this as far as the long-term relationship with the client is concerned. You must be free to buy whenever you want!
I've never heard of people subjected to the kind of pressure you got when seeking other insanely expensive luxury goods, such as cars (I think the pressure put on women in particular over handbags is something worth exploring as a unique phenomenon). You absolutely did the right thing; this should be a wonderful experience for you and you should be made to feel like the remarkable customer that you are.
I think im blessed with opposite of FOMO 🤣😂 I remember since i was little, anything anyone was doing or buying i wanted to do the exact opposite or run in the other direction
But yeah, luxury houses are big time pressure cookers. Even my favourite brand Ferragamo do it. Its all lies, for the most part. I have one good SA at Ferragamo who just lets me do what i want when i want
I love today’s video because I’m going to FOMO right now it’s extremely hard, but I am working on it. I’m glad I saw this video because my answer is no to the luxury items I was afraid of losing out on. Thanks 😊
Thank you for sharing this. Whenever we share more "personal" bits it can be hard, but so good for others to be able to support your decision and know they can make the same ones.
Good on you for standing your ground and not letting them manipulate you. There'll be so many bags that you'll want to buy when you're in Europe and for a better price too. You'll have the money to buy what you want when you're there.
Well done for standing your ground and enforcing your boundaries. It sounds like you clearly explained to your SA why the timing wasn’t right and it almost seems a bit disrespectful that they tried to push it on you for their benefit more so than yours. If it was that easy to get your dream combination approved I’m sure you won’t have any issues in the future when it is right for you
You should feel proud of yourself & good for you! It’s your money, you should spend it on YOUR terms. Now, when you are ready to spend that money, it will just make it that much more satisfying b/c it’s what YOU wanted, not anyone else. Thanks for the video! It helps to have some sanity and rationality spoken in this crazy luxury world we all live in. 😂😊
Good on you to have self control against FOMO for a bag/object. Glad your FOMO for intangibles such as feeling good, not pressured into buying something, freedom to make a shopping decision, spending quality time with family and enjoying your travel, won in the end. Well done!
Thought- I would position a small desk lamp in such a way as to point directly into the bag linings in order to provide the light needed to show more clearly how much space is in the bag. The desk lamp could be quickly turned on for just a few moments and then be quickly turned off when the demonstration is over. Just pointing the inside of the bag into the camera doesn’t provide enough light or clarity to see the space and volume of the bag. That’s how I would try it.
You made the right choice, Meredith. I recently let FOMO get the better of me and I bought a couple handbags that I should have waited for. I won’t go into the whole thing, but it was a situation where I basically didn’t read the fine print, lol. Anywho, I won’t be doing that again. It isn’t detrimental, but I could be using that money for something else. Lesson learned. I believe that this vlog and your experience will help others. You did good, kid. Thanks for sharing!
Total respect for your decision. It’s interesting that your SA proactively checked into this for you- you didn’t ask him to- and then you’re told now or never. Go enjoy your Europe shopping! I see a Barbie pink Fendi first fox for you in the future!❤
So proud of you sweetie!!! It was a hard thing to do but the right thing to do. We all have our boundaries and it’s good to stand by them. Yay!!! For you!!!!
Good on you Meredith- so proud of you! You will get another crack at it later, when its the right time for you, so although a hard decision, i think its the right one for you right now. Well done😊
Meredith, you made a good choice! You can do it next time. You are the boss of your decisions. By the way, I think the sales representative did not even ask you first.. he went ahead to ask on your behalf without even asking you first.
Thank you for sharing!! I completely agree that our purchases should be when we want, what we want and how we want. You should be really proud of yourself!
Good for you Meredith!! I absolutely agree with you that it should be your decision!! I don't appreciate when sales are pressured, and I resent it! So proud of you!! Enjoy your family time in Europe!!
This was an excellent video! Your situation was clearly a pressure tactic and very uncomfortable. Great to highlight the fact you have boundaries that should not be crossed and that others should learn from this situation. Thank you.❤
Good for you Meredith. It is so hard to turn down your dreams at any time. But I’m glad for you. Can’t wait for this trip you ladies have coming up. I am so looking forward to seeing what you get up too.
You should be very proud of yourself lovely Meredith. I know I am proud of you as I would say all of your subscribers would be. It was a hard decision but I think the right decision . Dayle brought up a great point of having the whole experience of doing your MTO in person. I would imagine after hearing hers and Connor's experience it would be something absolutely amazing to participate in. Ordering remotely just doesn't compare. Good on you for saying no. It will mean all the more to you when you do get to have this amazing bag made just for you in the way you want to do it.😁 Much love. Jenni. XX
Good on you! I’m glad you had time to think about it and you are 💯 on how Fendi has said one thing and done another. I bet you’ll get your dream bag 💗 and on your time frame. I’ve jumped because of fomo and then to realize I didn’t have to so I’m making better choices now. Great video! Thank you!
Funny I missed out on the purple rain baguette & they said no more would be made. Well guess what? Pre-orders opened up for it again in Canada, so exclusive🙄
I agree with Dayle on the experience - I’m sure you’ll find something special overseas, and you’ll have memories to go with it ❤😊 Plus I feel with all the Barbiemania right now you just never know what brands might release in response
Totally get where you are coming from Meredith, sometimes I tell myself I can't afford something so I can have the thrill and excitement of waiting a few more weeks , I definitely agree that Fendi will make you another offer and there's nothing worse than having a gun put to your head when it's your own money. It sounds beautiful, you know how I feel about fox but I know you love and enjoy that skin. xx
You made the right choice. I would not have liked it if a sales associate would have asked for something on my behalf, although I do understand the desire to make a sale, but ultimately the money does not belong to the sales associate.
Just last week I bought a bag because it came out in a seasonal colour I wanted, and I knew that if I missed out I'd be kicking myself. If I was in your situation I think I'd get the bag. The whole situation wasn't great but I think I'd rather have the bag I always wanted without the ordering experience and possibly get that later with another bag, than wait and get the experience later but risk the possibility that they wouldn't be willing to do what they are offering now. There is some research saying that people regret what they didn't do more than they regret what they did. Hopefully you'll get another chance 🤞
Yeah i would totally do the same as what you did. Spend your money in Europe first. You may get perhaps another Berkin there which would even be harder to get. Yes, we all have FOMO and with all these social media, it gets worst. Of late my SA from Chanel got me the cardholder which i did told her i wanted. Then one fine day, she texted me, "Hey, we have the card holder that you are looking for. I told her i will take it but i can only go into the store next week but unfortunately, she told me she can't hold the stock because it is the new season released" So i told her then is ok. At the back of my mind, i am thinking, if it is meant to be, it will be mine. I went in the week that i had informed her. Texted her first to check if the card holder is still available. True enough there is still 2 available. So you see...i was told in fact that is another batch of new stock. Fendi can wait, i think is always the Sales tactic, today is the last day of Sales...kind of quote and we jump onto it 🤣🤭
I am experiencing that right now- I just got back from two weeks in Europe with my family where I did extensive shopping. By all accounts, I should be on van island, but I have purchased two Fendi nano baguettes, LV perfume for myself and my hubby, and a couple of outfits since we got back😬. I am currently agonizing over a sold out bag that I love that I do not need (of course we don’t NEED any of this), but I have the opportunity to purchase. What to do…🤔
Watch them put the Barbie pink color on offer for an MTO now or even offer it in a seasonal release. I think he chose not to hear your no -- which clearly wasnt about serving you. That would leave a bad taste for me. Good for you for saying no to their engineered pressure and doing things on your terms!!
Well done for following your gut. I don’t like the pressurised feel these SAs put on their clients. I get they have targets and I guess it works for some people. It’s just very hard when that something you’re being threatened over is something you’d really like but hey such is life. And you absolutely deserve the full MTO experience. On one hand I hope you can be content with your desision knowing that the bag was never available before your SA took it upon themselves to coerce a sale. So had he never have asked, you’d have never have known and it’d not been available. ❤
This obviously weighed heavily on you but you backed yourself and what your gut was telling you. I think you’re right, they will do it again when you are ready and can have the full MTO experience. Hopefully the next time something like this happens you will be able to say no with less turmoil. FOMO - gets easier the more you say no 😂
I think he was being pushy with you…. I find every time I go in, I am faced with a plethora of extra options which the sales person is hoping I will also buy….. if I bought everything that was suggested, I would have hundreds of thousands of bags and clothes I do not need or want….. it is hard to remain strong….. otherwise we make mistakes…..

It’s always good to follow your gut feeling ❤ you are right, you should buy things on your own terms and not be made to feel like it’s now or never
Thanks Jessie!
I perfectly understand what you say and I totally agree! Also, I hate this kind of pressure, and I don't think it is clever from luxury houses to act like this as far as the long-term relationship with the client is concerned. You must be free to buy whenever you want!
I absolutely agree!
You made the right decision, I worked in luxury, and a lot of these luxury houses they’re trying to reach their goals!
Thank you 😊
Covert pressure selling! Unbelievable!
Well done to push back. I'm impressed.
Thank you!
I've never heard of people subjected to the kind of pressure you got when seeking other insanely expensive luxury goods, such as cars (I think the pressure put on women in particular over handbags is something worth exploring as a unique phenomenon). Thank you. That’s an interesting observation!
That is a LOT of pressure, bravo for sticking to your guns! 🤘🏻
Thanks Gwenny!
Funny that my FOMO pushback experience was also with a pink Fendi bag! I was surprised you made this call but I respect it absolutely, good call!
I surprised myself!!!

Happy to have helped!
That’s so great Meredith. You should be proud! I experience fomo all the time. My addiction to RUclips does not help 😅
RUclips certainly does not help!
It is so nice to have a video other than another unboxing. I have really enjoyed it!
Thank you. I do one video a week at least that isn’t an unboxing
Thank you for sharing this. Whenever we share more "personal" bits it can be hard, but so good for others to be able to support your decision and know they can make the same ones.

Because you’re a Pisces and FOMO rules our life 😂😂 good job saying no. When you’re in Paris and London you’ll be laughing xx
I want it all and I want it now!!!
I think your ca was a little bit cheeky to temp you when you said no already
Well done for standing your ground and enforcing your boundaries. Makes so much sense Meredith. I guarantee you will have the opportunity many more times in the future. I'm glad you resisted.
Thank you Jude!
Great decision - creating memorises and having a wonderful time in Europe is so much better!
It absolutely will be!
Well done Meredith 👏
Thank you 😊
7:27 more like the brand that cried fox 🦊 😂 great story! Keep that dry powder on the side for your upcoming trip! ❤💸
Lol, that’s it! The brand that cried fox!

My career is built on creating FOMO. Great decision on your part. 👍 The force is strong with you. 😬
Lol, love the Star Wars reference! Thank you!
This was a great video, really enjoy your content. Keep it up the good work!
Glad you enjoy it!
Good for you Meredith!! I absolutely agree with you that it should be your decision!! I don't appreciate when sales are pressured, and I resent it! So proud of you!! Enjoy your family time in Europe!!

Agree with your assessment Meredith.. I really enjoyed this video!! You gave yourself more power financially when you go to London-and Paris also..❤❤❤
Thank you Wanda!

💯
Preach Meredith preach 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 maybe you’ll get an Isabell Style experience in paris with an Hermes MTO as karma for staying strong now!
I can only hope!!
The only fomo for me is when are you having another vlog sales 😊
Lol. There won’t be another one for a while
Funny I missed out on the purple rain baguette & they said no more would be made. Well guess what? Pre-orders opened up for it again in Canada, so exclusive🙄
Perfect example!! Nothing is exclusive with Fendi
I agree with Dayle on the experience - I’m sure you’ll find something special overseas, and you’ll have memories to go with it ❤😊 Plus I feel with all the Barbiemania right now you just never know what brands might release in response

Sometimes we need to conduct our personal decisions like we would a business decision at our job.
That’s very true!
Yup fomo, trying not to join in with all the friends to go get a neverfull bb, or a micro mulberry, ❤😂
You must be strong. I see all of them buying the bb. It’s def cute
Hang in there Jak!
You made the right choice. I would not have liked it if a sales associate would have asked for something on my behalf, although I do understand the desire to make a sale, but ultimately the money does not belong to the sales associate.

Will you feel good if you buy it? Or sick at the thought? I think the emotion you feel directly after is the most telling thing.
Watch them put the Barbie pink color on offer for an MTO now or even offer it in a seasonal release. I think he chose not to hear your no -- which clearly wasnt about serving you. That would leave a bad taste for me. Good for you for saying no to their engineered pressure and doing things on your terms!!

They’re lying, Fendi will be just as greedy later on.
I’m sure they will be
Believe me. If you have the $$$$ later. They will come through!
I think so too!
👍🏻👍🏻

If you made the order, perhaps you would not have enjoyed the bag as it should because of the whole story
That’s a very good point!

Thank you for your thoughts.
Sounds like you were pressured into a sale and that’s not cool
No it isn’t!
The fact that you felt you have to explain to your SA why you wouldn't do the event & they went ahead with a query anyway. And the whole Hermes purchase history etc sounds like very manipulative behaviour on behalf of the brands.
Thank you 😊
You should definitely feel proud for saying no. You declined the MTO at the outset for totally legitimate reasons, and your decision should have been respected. Your sales associate should have NEVER presented your dream bag to Rome without your permission. Let’s be clear about this - he’s not being thoughtful, nor does he have your best interests at heart - he just wants the commission. I’d be really annoyed if I were you, because what he did could give Rome the impression that you’re a flaky customer - which you’re of course not. But whatever - even if they do think that - who cares? Your money is worth more than their feelings.
I had never thought of it that way! Now I’m just annoyed!
Great insight…. We have all been there and said yes and then next day thought ‘why did I do that’
The sinking feeling is so not worth it, when you are talking about that sought of financial commitment.
Knowing yourself and Being true to yourself is empowering. You go 🩷
I agree! I think I would have had that sinking feeling for days after had I said yes. At least this way I feel light in my decision
The fact that you felt you have to explain to your SA why you wouldn't do the event & they went ahead with a query anyway. And the whole Hermes purchase history etc sounds like very manipulative behaviour on behalf of the brands.
