Yes... You're able to flip and rotate the images, so it looks good when you're physically looking at the mirror in the car. But as I then discovered when you look at the actual " video content" playing it back on a laptop for example the license plates numbers are mirrored flipped annoyingly. I had to use video editing software to correct that.
Yeah it's still working perfectly 😊 and it's been pretty robust and reliable and I don't recall it ever giving me any problems. No issues with recording of content, and so far no corrupt files which is the main thing. I've even removed it from one car and fitted it into a new car; and still fine
On the installation process there's an additional wire which you actually have to tap in to the power wire of the 'reversing light'. So every time you shift into reverse, the grid lines will appear on screen. I never bothered because I just didn't want the hassle of trying to access the reversing light wire. But the option is there if you willing to do the installation.
I just got one and I have a question about recording during the night, if I lead it plugged in in the 12v input, the dashcam would record all night? and if the camera would do it, the car battery would run out? I did not buy the power camera.
You can buy a special lead that goes into your fuse box .... It's been a while since I last looked into this but apparently it means 24/7 recording especially for the night time... in like a 'slow time-lapse'. So the recorded content takes up less power and less memory space on the memory card. I nearly got it from mine but i wasn't confident with the fuse box powering it. Just check out Amazon. It's a literally just a special lead and fuse connection hard wire kit 24/7
Thank you for the video. I'm thinking of getting the hard wire kit so I can record all the time inside the jeep (since my doors are off all summer). Im thinking of getting 128gb or 256gb. Does it time lapse when car is off? Or you have to set it up each time you leave the car? Tks
I've not got the hard wire kit, but I did look into it when I bought the item....and yes, once it's hard wired then the time lapse should be an option to turn on in the menu setting. Then once on, it should time lapse both front and rear camera's all the time, even when the car is off and parked up. I believe it goes into a constant low power consumption mode.
you'll need to take the SD card out the mirror and put it into a laptop / PC. ...then transferring the contents over to a hard drive. Bit of a flap I admit. 👍
Cheers. Ended up using the cigarette lighter attachment....was tempted to buy the hard wire kit as apparently it activates some time lapse feature in the unit, that means it can record 24/7 but condense down the footage so the SD card does full up to quickly. 👍
So far my one seems to be working still which is fortunate. I think ebay sell invidivial cameras & screens....so I was on the thinking that should one part fail ( either the actual camera or the screen ) then I would just buy a similar item off ebay (to replace the broken bit). It's just a bit of a gamble knowing if the camera is PAL or NTSC.
Yeah...If you mount the rear camera on your FRONT grill then you could still use the mirror as a standard reflective mirror ....but you need to go into the setting to turn off the display.
Looks like there is an option in the settings so it can be turned off after 1 min....3min..or 5 mins( then used as a regular mirror ). I tend to leave myn on permanently, as a digital mirror
Can you have it on the rear view mode but have it recording the front as a dashcam at the same time or does it record whichever setting you can see on the screen
Yes...it records front and back always, regardless of whether your actually veiwing front or rear. Just need a large SD card to handle all the video content it records. 👍
Great review from a users standpoint. It's convinced me to get one!
Thanks good video I like it
Is there any setting on there so that when you are using the rear view mirror you can flip the image ?

Thanks for the review you 2. Looking at getting one for our G6 convertable, Liked and Subbed your new youtube friends in Seattle WA, USA
Hi Russ. Thanks for a lovely message; and the convertible sounds great fun...hope you get the reverse mirror fitted....,Take care. Rob and Melissa
@Rob and Mel, does this cam still work ok 2.5 years after this video was posted? Do you have any updated comments to make about it?

Hello, is the USB cable type-C or not? Thanks.
I don't think this was a usb c on this particular model. I changed it for a more up-to-date model which is a usb-c now.
Amazing camera I use it
Seems very dim. Is there way make it brighter?
At night or can be too bright ....day time a bit dimmer..... But it does have a brightness control 👍
The little black connector for the rear camera, is it a 5pin or 4pin? Cheers
4 pin...just checked today 👍
thank you
Does the parking monitoring work ?
My Backkamera doesnt work.. Do u know why?
how do you make the guidelines for reverse parking work ?

This brand is good ?
I've had it for 4 years now and no problems. Never missed a recording.👍

Is there a mobile app for this?
Nope.... just a stand alone unit. Playback option all within the screen.

Oh and is the time lapse just for the front camera or the rear as well?

Did have you ever figured out how to get the footage off the dash cam I've lost the manual

Where do you put the SD card
Just slides in on the top or side....a very small slot that admittedly is tricky to find sometimes.
Excellent review! Thanks for sharing., Did you wind up just useing the cigarrette ligher attached, or did you have to do any additional wiring ?
Cheers. Ended up using the cigarette lighter attachment....was tempted to buy the hard wire kit as apparently it activates some time lapse feature in the unit, that means it can record 24/7 but condense down the footage so the SD card does full up to quickly. 👍
My rear-view camera refused in such a registrar. Can you tell me what to replace? What type?
Same problem here did u solve it pls tell me

Hi, nice video!!! Just a question, the mirror must be connected all the time on 12v? Or it is not necessary?
Yeah...there's no battery in it as such so 12v is the only way to power it unfortunately 👍
@@poppypicanto thank you!
What brand of memory card you use
I think I've got a Sandisc in there.... But quite a high-capacity one.. A1 class 10 👍
Does it need to be turned off to use as just a mirror? Or is there a swipe option for that
Looks like there is an option in the settings so it can be turned off after 1 min....3min..or 5 mins( then used as a regular mirror ). I tend to leave myn on permanently, as a digital mirror
My rear camera not working pls someone help me I just bought 2 weeks before
