Gary was the best Cruel World surprise. Completely stole the show.
Agreed! Was fuckin amazing!
Better then Love and Rockets even?
Gary is most definitely a show stealer . 🖤
Yes I was definitely surprised. He definitely got a new fan after all these decades
@@baratheda777 million times better
His stage presence rules and his voice is still great, what an absolute champion. He's having so much fun, it's great to see.
Really?, sounds like shit to me.
@@jazznutz Really? This is how you're spending your Tuesday night?
It’s often painful to watch aged performers, trying to recreate what they were doing in their youth. None of that on show here and still full of youthful exuberance. Well done, Gary.
Gary is the prime example of find what you love doing and do it for the rest of your life.
He's not doing bad for a dude in his 60's. 😃
i disagree. he should put his efforts into something else. this is a sad thing to watch....... so tired
Gary is one of the best live performers I’ve ever seen, incredible show
Yeah he is, can’t wait to see him next month
I’m lovin the post apocalyptic Mad Max look of the band.
Trent did it 30 years ago
Without Gary there would be no Trent.
Also true
I knew Gary personally back in the 80's. I was an aircraft engineer on warbirds and he use to fly with us on many occasions to airshows etc.
That's awesome.
Wow! That's really cool!
@@emp12345 he has a book?
@@emp12345thanks for the heads up on the book I didn’t realise he had one out. Will definitely get it I’d say it’s an interesting read
That's awesome
The fact that he's heading towards 70 and still moving like he does is incredible.
Not long turned 65 but i know what you mean,..My knees dont work that well and I'm younger !
THAT IS....CAUSE HE IS LEAVING IN ANOTHER DESERT PLANET....not here...always was...THAT'S WHY I LIKE HIM.....FROM THE BIGGINING...!
@@alib666 i'm 68 and i agree 😅
Reminds me of Lestat in Queen of the Damned Music and visually.
Gary Numan has been making some awesome music for a long time.
I remember Cars when it first came out.
My favorite song?
ruclips.net/video/22Z4Tv1zn-s/видео.html definitely
@@alib666 His hair is not 65
I prefer the pure synth version but congrats to Gary for keeping this music alive and available to new generations.
Darling gorgeous Gary love you so much both now and forever babe xxxxxxx
Come to think of it, that is the same thing he was doing when he made the synth version! :) *coming out of the Guitar centric 60's-70's :) He not only manages to follow trends but sometimes set them too. That said it is weird to see him performing in the broad daylight!!! :) LOL
@WoodysAR The drummer and bass player on The Pleasure Principle (Cedric Sharpley and Paul Gardiner, respectively) were a solid rhythm section. IMHO the fact that Gary chose to use real instruments (instead of a Moog synth bass and a LinnDrum drum machine) made those tracks what they were. RIP Cedric and Paul.
He is absolutely on point. Love the emotion he puts behind his performance. 😮
And his band were so awesome!
Gary Numan still has it. What a performer. 🔊🎵🎶🎵🎶😎👍👍✌️✌️
I was there and he OWNED Cruel World Festival! Full Stop!
Bought his album in 79. I have to say primarily because I was already a die hard Bowie fan. Very talented artist.
He’s been putting out great stuff and touring for many decades. He’s so underrated but has a loyal fan base.
Gary was incredible. Love him
Gary *_IS_* incredible, (this is 2023 concert!) But YES! :)
Gary looks its cool with that nice wig
I’ve been a Gary Numan fan since I was 15 and first heard “are friends electric”, in 1979. If I recall correctly, in an interview, back then, he said that he composed on an old piano that had been out in the weather so it no longer held tune or sounded much like a piano. He also said he was going to do music for only another two or three years and then go back to being a pilot. Looks like he remained a musician and the world is much richer for it.
brutal, getting younger rather than older, just brutal keep metal numan
Gary is a terrific songwriter and performer. We’re lucky to have him still doing his thing.
He looks and sounds great.
Still love him and his music after all the years 😍
Love how he added Trent’s rendition at the end. Always sends chills.
Yeah, sounds so satisfying...
From “M.E.” on Pleasure Principle 🖤
Class
Awww you caught that moment from a different angle and it was so cute to see his wife and daughter supporting him.
Gary it's just an unbelievable artist and person!!!
Gary Numan just makes me happy and long may that continue😊😊 never tire of listening to his music or watching these clips - long may it all continue ❤❤
Dang! Gary! Show them how it's done! I love the stage look!
This was the B-side to the "Cars" single, on 45 rpm vinyl. Owned it. Loved it. Thanks for posting!
Asylum. Me thinks.
@@justgoclockwise2499 Maybe on some versions of the single. But I very distinctly remember 'Metal' being on the B-side of the 45 that I owned.
@wendywilkinson3869 Awesome
Gary looks & SOUNDS amazing! 🙌🏽♥️
This sounds GREAT!!!!!
Was great to see him twice. Bonus!
Always loved Gary's voice.
One of my favorite Numan songs!
It’s my fave...
“A Prayer for the Unborn” my second fave.
No way 😍❤️🎶
We love you Gary...in the heart for years 😻
OMG he's still got it.
They absolutely stole the show, in my opinion!!! I was only expecting to see Iggy Pop and Siouxsie for the makeup show, but I was extremely happy to find out Gary Numan was performing too!
Yeah I was pretty stoked about him showing up again.
Numan WAS INDEED the best part of the Sunday show.
If you support this Numan look than your not a True Synth Lover🥳
Agreed! I was glad to see him both days!
Lo amo, Love you Gary Love you ❤🎶✌🎶
I met him about 3 weeks ago in Brighton. He was staying in the same Hotel.
I didn't bother him, just said Hi and moved along.
HE LIVES HIS TEENAGE MORE....THAN IN 80'S....RESPECT...! HE'S HART IS YOUNG....love him always..THANK YOU
I am 70. Good shit. May it continue!
A true pioneer. 👍🎹🇬🇧
He must have a deal at the crossroads...the man has not aged!
That toupe keeps getting bigger and bigger!
that's not a toupe.. the wig is wearing gary at this point.
@@fezenstein *toupee.
I mean, is it superglued or what?
Personal appearance? Is that it?
No critique of the music or performance.
A wig ....... 😆
@@RosieHarp i've seen him multiple times over the last few decades - his performance is always on point. I love that his music seems as timeless now as ever before. I find the vanity of aging musicians (and anyone really) sometimes baffling.
This totally fucking rocks! Still sounds fresh, even!
❤❤❤❤
Excellent.
Gary is an absolute legend! Such an amazing performer. He is a credit and example of how to deal with the aging process. What is there not to admire about Gary. A fantastic video.
Love it absolutely brilliant the best electronic man in the hole would I am a big big big fan of Mr Gary numan I have all his CDs and vinyl and DVD 🎤🎹🎹🎹🎹🥁🎸
Incredible video
So many memories after seeing him (with Ubeway Army at the time for the album Down in the park) in Paris, at the Palace in 1980, I was 17 and it was my first concert! Also very happy to hear a recent version of "Metal"! I always enjoy the album The Pleasure Principle!
Just found this by random, and boy what a great performance, at 65 too ?! Have to go and see him whilst I still can. He almost outpills the likes of the modern PIL.
I felt so lucky to see this performance twice at Cruel World.
Trent Reznor and Gary togheter on NiN live remix version of this gem is pure gold!
❤
Man, does he ever age?
This tune came out 2 years before i was born and he looks younger than me?!? Hes so weird and i love it!
Both sets were just fantastic! And they all looked great too!
He is a top.bloke and still has the voice .looks in good shape too .steels every show ive seen him at .
My fave Numan song...
Since 1979 🖤
I was there Saturday and Sunday. An astounding set by the man both afternoons.
Darliling gorgeous Gary love you so much both now and forever gorgeous goth guy xxxxxxxxxxxx
3:46 *Love those ending chords on the keyboard from the song "M.E". on this same album, which I bought in 1979 (well my parents must've bought it - I was only 12 then!!!)*
I love this man. So sharp and smooth in a perfect blend.

He's a Bad Man!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I remember when he first came onto the music scene... I completely disregarded him then. BUT... as years go by, my own interests developed and really... this guy just gets better and better. Brilliant stuff Gary.... 😃
His music absolutely changed my life in 1979
Gotta love Gary hes the greatest❤ 😊

So wish I could have been there. I just saw him in Cleveland in early May. I was blown away. Such an amazing performance.
❤😝
Wow❕️
what an artist !!!!
He is reinveinting wimself ( to new reneragionts)
SOOOOOOO Happy to see Galifianakis on keys!!
Numan,Kraftwerk and Bowie 3 highly influential musicians that changed the musical landscape and created 80s new wave.
Saw him prior to this show while he toured with Ministry and Frontline Assembly. Amazing show!
I WANNA SEE HIM LIVE SO BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD
as god as it gets
F'ing amazing. as usual
I saw him both nights, second night right up front!
HE'S STILL GOT "IT"!
My fave 'octave' bass line of all time.
WOW
Sounds good
he sounds great. I am surprised. Usually when I go in for nostalgia I am bummed out.
Underground Bowie.
Awwww I can see Gemma and raven bless them
I had the 45rpm A-side Cars/B-side Metal
You only need Replicas, Pleasure Principle, & Telekon on the Proverbial Island...
Honestly Gary Neman was my favorite part of Sunday night CWF’23. Siouxsee was very cool, but wish Numan had a much longer set, if not the headliner!
Numan.
A longer set so he can keep making a mess of his music🤦
Steele & GNTA ftw
