The pitch on this thing is up to heaven. Highest I've ever heard and it is beautiful. Its like hearing this for the first time. Had forgotten just how beautiful this piece was.
It is literally at the gate of heaven & provides glimpses of the world beyond this one. It was even premiered at a concert hall in Vienna on the Himmelpfortgasse or "the gate heaven road". Very apt indeed.
Thank you, AmadeusMozart - sorry, I can't spell it the clever way that you do. I have just set aside two days (a Saturday and a Sunday) going through every single Mozart piano concerto from 15 to 27. without you I couldn't have done it because these are full length without the continual fiddle of separate movements! I truly love this music. I think that I discovered no 19 for the first time - beautiful! Nos 22 and 25 have such a great breadth, almost like piano symphonies. Anyway, thank you.
It's a shame he died so young, you can hear him just starting to explore some new directions in this piece while still retaining the simple, memorable melodies he's known for.
We need to be so grateful for all the wondrous music he gave us in his lifetime. It is amazing how much he composed in his 35 years on earth. It is incredible to think of how much joy his music has given to generations since his death.
as James Dean interrupted His Acting career while his porsche crashed against another vehicle, sad but is part of life, good is that we have endless lifetimes!... 😂🙏💖🔥🎆🕉

If not, the world would enjoy much more masterpieces .His clarinet compositions are soo briljant, i can not suggest sommone else could write better , mpre bright and virtual music we custom from the musicwritings on papers of virtuios Mozart if he had doubled his age. John Appleseed Yeah, you're probably right; we should try to focus more on war, hatred, and angry people smashing electric guitars in front of crowds of angry [overzealous] teenagers.
John Appleseed You win. I loved, as a child, hearing the story of "Johnny Appleseed." So I'll just leave it at this: I don't agree with what you've said, but I like your "name" :-). Mozart and his music don't need me to defend them. Neither do the people like me, past, present and future who are thankful and appreciative. Mozart gave us something very beautiful, with the power to make us feel, moved, happy, hopeful, etc. If you listen to his music and watch his operas; if the beautiful, things like that cute, sweet little "Papageno/Papagena" Aria near the end of "The Magic Flute" for example, don't fill your heart with so much joy that you can't contain it all and find it pushing tears down your face, then I feel sadness for you, not condescention, or anger, just great sadness.
I have the original score in front of me and he thinks that it is allowed and takes the liberty of transforming the work of the master Mozart! if you do not have his talent respect the work composed !!
This si the last concerto for piano by Mozart, but he did not know it ...... there is nothing of the Requiem here in this score in B flat major, only a light melancholy, very subtle as all what Mozart wrote.
Amadeus grazie per questo video. Questa esecuzione mi ricorda quella di Brendel/Marriner/Academy of St. Martin in the fields. Comunque sia è STRAORDINARIA. Ancora grazie.

@@angelracing Thank you - I'd like to say that great music performed in an honest way - true to the composer, true to the musician is how we can feel God's love for us, giving us these treasures through His protegees...

the excellent pianist here is Emil Gilels and the lesser known conductor is Vyacheslav Ovchinnikov and the USSR state Orchestra. My favorite version of the piece is by Clara Haskil and Ferenc Fricsay. No one understands Mozart's idiom and phrasing th way she does. Heavenly, all these years later.
Hello Henry. Yes, I can assure you of my knowledge of (the real) Mozart because I am quite a classical music enthusiast. But I think that thanks are due to somebody who has sweated long and hard in order to make this more available.
This must be Paul Badura-Skoda - BEAUTIFUL! - no-one else plays Mozart like he does - on piano the best interpreter of Mozart whom I know. Especially the 2nd part, Larghetto, is one of the pieces I have to listen to again and again.
i think that my situation is an accident on the way of my life in earth that god allowed me for me to develop some skills. so i am fine in spite of that. send you my thanks and cheers. anna from brazil. be happy all the time in spite of anything that may happen to you.
Gawd, I grew up hearing and craving every 3:00 pop song. But I keep listening and expanding and accepting. Have the patience to embrace and get off on 30-minute pieces.
Which Bach piece is it taken from? I've been reading about this piece for years and none of the authors mention a connection between Mozart's theme and a Bach piece so far.
Your so right, it must have been divine! Their style of clothes, mannerism, values and their monarch, even as servant it must just been delightful with only this music evolving and operatic, simple but colorful plays. I wouldn't say they were oppressed but well loved to have this type / only entertainment! during this century the Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II was / noted in history for Enlightened absolutism in arts, music & political opinions.
If I had a time machine I'd go back to 1760 or so and publish the majority of Mozart's work, not for fame or fortune of my own but so he would write new stuff.
To: Am4d3usMůz4rt Thank you for this beautiful concerto with Paul Badura-Skoda (among pianists the greatest interpreter of Mozart)! However. I would have a request: Would it be possible to get back the Larghetto part separately, like it was earlier? It was called Piano Chill. I ask, because in this version there are some more notes at a couple of places (for instance abt 18.20 - and more), and I find them superfluous, and a bit disturbing to the serene simplicity of this utterly beautiful part They may of course belong to the original partiture, but I think this part is more tranquil without them.
I first heard the third movement in the 1980s, played on PBS by Vladimir Feltsman. It caught my attention immediately, but playing it considerably slower than it is here, he seemed to play it with great reverence and you could feast much more on every single note. It is a marvelous composition with a beautiful melody...this is a bit fast. Try it slower, I think you will enjoy it more...it has to be more at the speed of golf rather than race horse basketball!
This concerto, in common with a number of Mozart's, has numerous instances where the pianist is called upon to waggle two fingers on a pair of keys for a few seconds. That's a cute little filip, but it doesn't really do much to advance the theme, does it?
In all my years of studying Mozart, I can assure there is no question in my mind this was written in the 1791 timeframe..1788? These historians are crazy,
+beethovenlovedmozart From his Biography you are probably correct. Written in the early part of 1791. He was working on Figaro ( revising to suit the singers) as well as "The Magic Flute" was already in dire financial straits6 Children and 4 of them dies within the first year. Mozart himself dies ( probably kidney or intestinal cancer on Dec 5th 1791. Next to Chopin and Beethoven, Mozart was probably the most prolific composer ---- Often writing overtures to his operas only hours before the performance in Vienna.
Just out of curiosity, what makes Beethoven or Chopin more prolific composers over say someone like Schubert? Also I have never heard of Beethoven writing anything hours before a performance. People use his deafness as an excuse, but I dont. Most great composers wrote before playing it. Mozart was absolutely a prolific composer, but curious why you put Beethoven and Chopin in same category.
@jurli21 Beautiful - the pianist, Paul-Badura-Skoda, is in my opinion the best interpreter of Mozart among pianists. It's especially the 2nd part, Larghetto, that I love...

Mozart's well known classical music pieces are breathtakingly melodic. Most of his compositions are utterly mind blowing.
Mozart - the greatest creative genius who ever lived.

The Larghetto is simply fantastic!! Do you have tears they will show up when you listen to this masterpiece of music.

Haydn is thought to have said about Mozart "Posterity will not see such a talent again in 100 years."[3]
