Montañita, a small surfer town in the Santa Elena province, located in the south pacific region of Ecuador. This town is considered to be a surfing hotspot. Montañita hosts many important surf competitions that attracts surfers from all over the world. Besides being a surfer paradise, this town is well known for its hippie lifestyle due to its regulation regarding the use of marihuana and its busy nightlife. This town attracts many foreign tourists from all over the world. It is 9 hours located from the capital Quito and roughly 3 hours from Guayaquil.
