    Well done. It's so much fun to engineer a Jeep into a camper.

    One of those tension type clamp hangers that you might mount a mop, broom or rake in a storage closet to hold up your tripod leg.

    I've lived in the back of my 2000 Cherokee sport for 3 years, I have the high density foam from Jo-Ann's laid diagonally across and I just store all my stuff on either side. I'm 6'2 and I have to bend my knees when I sleep but it's pretty comfortable.

    Thinking of doing the same build. I think to create more space I might takeout the passenger seat. But that eliminates the possibility of another person coming along.

    I love Cherokee builds, but if I can't sit up on my sleeping platform I freak out. Haha. I wish I could run a build like this, but I would get way claustrophobic in there.

    Why didn't you remove rear seat? Would allow the front seats to recline and possibly make the folding section easier to deploy/reset.
    If you ever get tired of having to slide the front seats forward, look into getting f'seats from a 2dr xj b/c they have tilt forward function... though stay with 97+ to avoid mounting differences.

    • @grahamjgreen
      @grahamjgreen  2 года назад +1

      I didn't want to remove the rear seat because that's an extra hassle to put it back in when switching back to using the rear seat.

      @@grahamjgreen just wondering since you didn’t mention the passenger side and you had your bed roll on drivers side. I like your build. I took the rear seat and passenger seat out and put a deck the same height as the factory rear deck and will use plastic totes for storage so I can take them out of the way at camp. I have 2 Belgian Malinois dogs that go with me since I only camp as far back and as high as I can get in the backcountry.

    I like your idea of making the cargo area section a size than can be used with the back seat in either position. I also like how the build evolved with the aluminum trim to protect and finish the edges, the cargo tie-downs, and slide-out table. Thank you for sharing your pics, cut-list, and 3D model.

    You are correct if you are over 5' 10" it doesn't work. You have to sleep diagonally. I am also 5'10" and I used to sleep in the back.

      My plan is to modify the front passenger seat to allow a longer bunk. Either locate a seat from a 2 door that folds forward or modify the seat tracks.
