    This was a good primer. I’ve only superficially listened to some of the bands Daniel mentioned.
    I love Massacra and early Agressor. Crusher were pretty good too. Some great black metal albums are Diamatregon - crossroads and Bekhira - l’élu du mal.
    On the epic side of things there’s Herzel. Incredibly good band that sings in French. You’ll love them, trust me.

    You guys did a great job as usual covering different subgenres. Nice to see there’s still plenty of stuff left to discover. Bravo!

    Daniel's book about Swedish grindhouse cinema is damn good. Used to have a copy. Casualty of a book/CD/DVD collection purge years ago and one of the regrets.

    Great show! I missed watching live. Looking forward to the Swedish punk book!! That was my obsession in the mid-late 90s. Mob 47, Anti CImex, Totalitar, No Security etc...

    I remember Schuldiner saying in interviews that Satan Jokers were his top favourite French Metal band, a few years after i had discovered them on French mags like Enfer and Metal Attack and then listening to Satan Jokers on Portuguese national FM, on António Sérgio's ''Lança Chamas'' (Flamethrower), one of the most powerful Metal radioshows in Europe from 1983 to 93. Just like Sortilège, SJ had that Class x-factor that only French Metal bands do have. The same goes for ADX, whom i discovered the day i bought At war with Santa, and H-Bomb. Those were the days. Before conscription...

    Very informative episode. I'll have to check a couple of bands. Only knew two of them (Heavenly and Fairyland, whose keyboardist and founding member passed in 2022)

    Good show lads. Could have been a bit more elaborate when it comes to the 80s stuff. Daniel pulled the best shit at the end and in my eyes there has not been talked about it enough. On a sidenote: an album like Morsüre's Acceleration Process needs to be experienced to be believed. In terms of weirdness, this enters Flames of Hell/Deliverance (UK) territory. Not necessarily in style but it's as eyebrow-raising and somewhat awe-inspiring. An album filled with antisocial hits like Ahriman's Heart.
    Gotta get my hands on the book he mentions in the end. :)

    Treponem Pal, where Swans met their Godflesh, under heavy (Young) Godly weather with some sparse Voivodesque winds. Aggravation is a logic progress into quality, but the debut album stood its ground, facing contemporary monsters like Streetcleaner or L'Eau Rouge. It's a brave debut, i bought it as it came out (thanks to Metal Forces, truth be said), and still play the concrete slab. I'm from PT, and Marco Neves is a Portuguese name, so i suspect TP's leader must be a Portuguese descendant, an aspect that immediately reinforced the link with the group; unsurprisingly, TP's wasn't exactly well received amongst Pt's metalheads in 89/90, but they remain as an industrial Metal reference from the past for all those who recall. I played Treponem Pal on the radio several times. Impressive, but as demolishing as Godflesh.

    I disagree about Nightmare.Their debut is amazing and the second is great too and with a great singer.They also initially had french lyrics in their 1983 demo, the songs are also on Waiting for the Twilight debut.Alan I think you know this band without knowing it, it's the same that released Cosmovision in a more power metal vein

    I know they are very "controversial" but man, skipping Seigneur Voland and Kristallnacht is criminal. Probably the most influential on modern Franco-Finnish style BM.

    France was very rich historically in many genres mainly outside metal. Some good picks by Daniel Ekeroth, great to see non metal excellent influential mentions like Metal Urbain. Concerning ADX, it has nothing to do with Attics/Addicts, it's just the acronym for Acier Doux (Electric Steel).

    The stuttering and stammering over DSO was hilarious, trying like crazy to stay on the 'pc' side while trying to explain the band and then to top it off to dismiss Peste Noire as a "rascist" band with no talk on their incredible work well it's clear you are unable to put art before artist and thus lose any credibility as reviewers.

    • @michalisveliziotis615
      @michalisveliziotis615 2 дня назад

      What stuttering? Peste Noire is a racist band. If you want to go and listen to racists, go and do it. Nobody prevented you from that. But call it what it is, and do not hide behind "ooohhh the PC is cancelling us". No mate, nazis and racists are nazis and racists, end of story.

    • @michalisveliziotis615
      @michalisveliziotis615 День назад

      There was no stuttering, just the facts: DSO are questionable, Peste Noire are racists. If calling out someone as racist is "PC" for you, then you have to seriously reconsider your human values.

He is actually one of the main central figures and funds, promotes and spreads NS activity/propaganda/content earnestly.
