It’s so sad how Macie keeps telling them to wait and everyone just keeps on dying. While rush meta can be fun, everyone has memories of the good old, fun and tactical times.
I think we all need to come to terms that the game is finally dying. Not in terms of playerbase but in terms of play philosophy and the fact it wont ever be as tactical as it used to be in year 2-5.
Tiktok, youtube shorts and all of the recoil buffs, and operator damage buffs have made the gunplay way too influential. All while they NERF trap operators and utility ops like smoke, maestro etc. Back in the day rushing was very risky because the enemies had a MILLION things you had to look out for. Now maestro is nerfed, smoke is nerfed, they re slowly removing more and more barbed wire in favor of shit like bulletproof cams and observation blockers (they re nice but they wont stop rushers). They nerfed lesion, they re about to nerf frost etc.
I play like Macey (im not as good as him and i play on console) but i face the exact same problems as him. No one drones, reinforces, play post plant, no one uses utility etc
No, ranked was always like that. Like it’s crazy to think champs 3 years ago played tactical. It was always run and gun.
Siege is only truly tactical when played in a team.. that was always true and it still is today

Smoke was never good at stopping rushes anyway, and I don’t remember them nerfing him ?
Game has less bullshit A/E mechanics, is slower so I really don’t see where this idea comes from.
The game isn’t more TDM than before (maybe slightly but it’s irrelevant). People at high rank just play like monkeys, it’s nothing new, has been like this for years.. soloQ is like 80% a matter of aim alone. Unless you are as smart as macie
@@wakatpr6583 i dont know about you but 1-2 years ago people tried to be tactical. I always saw my enemies play mute, smoke, aruni etc even in plat 3 and rounds would last to the last 20-30 seconds. Now my whole team is dead in 50 seconds on attack
@@axelbrackeniers5488I saw that like 3-4 years ago. The rush meta started way longer than 1-2 years ago. There was even a rush meta in year 2 I think where they had to introduce operators like Lesion to slow down the meta. And it’s not even the gadget balancing causing that. You have so many gadgets that impairs player movements and the latest operator even impairs vision.
Yet, despite all those gadgets that affect movements, people go crazy specially when it’s a 4v1. Nothing to do with operator balancing because no matter how much operator balancing you do, that run and gun mentality has always and will always be there.
Literally the only reason why the game was tactical at the start was because people were still learning the game. Once the player growth went up, you started getting more players from run and gun games like CoD joining the community. There’s also the problem with ranked 2.0 putting more run and gun players in the top rank when they don’t deserve it but that’s a discussion for another time

They are most definitely NOT a waste of time because they are Meta, if you put champ players against people who actually know how to play comp they’ll get slammed even with better gun skill.

TDM is not really "meta", just a boring ass way to get easy picks before putting your team at a man disadvantage. Or at a strategic disadvantage like when you spawnpeek as an Azami/Wamai/Solis.
Perhaps Ubi have released too many operators and its too confusing for ADHD playerbase so they just go with the short attention span "rush" instead.

The sad truth is that a good aim is enough to climb up the ranks but it has always been the case. Ranked in siege has always been pretty meaningless. If you want siège to be tactical, it’s probably only at pro play that you can, and with some rare exceptions like macie
Love that bandit trick play. Use cams to plan, Bait the battery trick, use gonne 6 to enter and execute. Beautiful.

I've said it on a previous video already but seriously, I'm getting older and worse at siege but these young guys that play it constantly and are supposed to be professionals make me look amazing, still love your videos even when the opposition and your teammates act like they've never played before

Zero has to be one of the best solo q operators out there, he just has everything you need to do well yourself. He has strong weapon options, a Gonne-6, hard breaches, and extra cameras that double as utility destroyers. And he's 3-speed. If only he still had his frags, he'd be perfect XD
Yeah, only issue is that in this tdm meta, you have to play fast and make your way into site fast, and Zero is a tactical op with 4 wall piercing cameras that requires a bit of time to strategize, clear utility, and use as useful flank cams/site cams. By the time you set up your cams your team is most likely dead or in site.

I’ve invented the term “Warden brain rot” this applies when a warden
1. Doesn’t use their gadget even when there’s a ying
2. Runs out and dies because they’re cocky
3. Peek and challenge everything because they have a 1.5 and die because they’re COCKY

Hey I'm glad you gave Zero a shot! I was there in chat when you were asked about your opinion on Zero, and you were kinda meh on him. I chatted that I thought he was the ultimate solo queue operator due to his ability to remove gather intel, remove gadgets (especially wall denial), and then hard breach the wall by himself. You then gave him a chance and I'm glad you have seen and embraced his potential. He's my favorite attacker right now.

One simple thing that I think Siege could do to slow down, or even stop the TDM nature of the game right now is to force Attackers to plant the Defuser instead of just winning by killing everyone. Similar to how Defenders need to destroy the Defuser even though every Attacker is dead.
