I finally confessed that I struggle with self mutilation to my three best friends a couple a weeks ago and I have already felt the change in y relationship with Jesus. This is soo true, I have grown SO much closer to God because of this.

Im 16 yearold girl that has struggled with porn and a whole lot of other things. Recently God confronted me with this and then I watched this video and am praying about sharing my testimony with my youth group. I know that its right whenit says "confess your sins to one another and pray for oneanother so that you can be healed." It really got to me to realize Gods been there the entire time that I've dealt with this. And your song you are more helped me see that my past choices do not make me w

wow. Just when I was beginning to wonder if the next generation was going to fall even worse than my own (I have kids older than most of you guys), I see the seeds of God planted in hearts that long for Him. Mike Donehey is right about "confessing one to another", because it IS "freeing" in a way that encourages brokeness, and intimacy with the body. I am lifting all of you up in prayer, and encourage you to fellowship with one another and hold each other up. The Lord bless you and keep you.

something that has become a big deal in my life through Mike Donehey and Tenth avenue north is that we don't need to earn God's love, he will love us no matter how bad we get! keep that alive in your mind if you reading this, and God Bless

The best part of this, it's never too late. NEVER. No matter what you have done, or how big you've done, you are forgiven. The word says, there is no big and a little sin. Once you sinned, that's that. But god loves us so much, he is forgiving us from that, because he knows we are more, and when you confess, that's when your free, that's when the healing, begins. :) don't be afraid. God is right there by your side. Even when you dont feel him. GBU!!!

By his stripes, you are healed. You can have freedom in Christ, because you are not identified by your failures. Your identity is in Christ. Ask Him what your identity is. He will not fail to provide an answer! God bless you!

I've struggled with being able to confess to other believers my whole life, but thank God He has brought me to where I have confessed my major struggles with fellow believers! Its hard, but freeing--& Biblical! James 5:16 is true. It's NOTHING to do with the false Catholic church. It's not about confessing to a priest (CHRIST is the high priest!) it's about the PRAYER, ACCOUNTABILITY and the HEALING that comes from that. It's the fellowship of realizing you can't do it by yourself HE is enough

KEEP IT REAL! cuz that's what this is ~more than just a song, it's a message, from God through you. thank you for delivering it.
btw, first time i heard this song i driving home from my first confession in 6 months (probably hardest 6 of my life) & i looked out my car window & saw the brightest rainbow I've ever seen-a double rainbow w/ full arch. it was crazy. i thought it was ironic at first, then i shook my head; it was God. Ur right, He is real, & present. That's where my healing began...

Story of my life. Too often do I build up walls to keep my real feelings from showing. Things seem to hurt more when there aren't walls there to absorb the impact. I've only begun to fathom how God's love can truly heal a broken soul. A speaker once gave a message on on 1 John. It's about how as Christians we have the light of God, and we can let it shine, to not heal ourselves, but to heal others, and let the light of God in others heal us. I think that's what this song is saying to me

I think that we often don't tell our struggles to people but its ok when its just between us and God, because we know God won't judge us, He loves us no matter what so it doesnt seem as bad, but we think if we tell people they will stop loving us and judge us, but if they love Christ like He loves us, They won't judge, they will love and help you. Our sisters and brothers through Jesus Christ are there for us like we are for them.

I have to say, I actually understand what he means. It's more than just saying "Oh, that's probably right". Just recently I was forced to come out in the open with what I'd done and who I'd been. my past caught up with me. So things got worse because i didn't want to change, then change was forced upon me. Listen to this man, his words hold truth and wisdom that'll save you so much pain. No one said it was easy, but it is necessary.

I've listened to this song at least10 times and never got what they were talking about. I always thought it was easier to confess to God because he already knew so I didn't have to put it into words and could just be like "You know what I mean" but I never really confessed to other people. This weekend a friend and I started talking about certain issues we had with things and we confessed to eachother, it was so awesome! I think both of us were blessed. The best thing about confessing your sins is the insight you start to have afterward. I realized that, if I (or anyone else) were perfect, we wouldn't need a Saviour. But no one is, God knew we wouldn't be but, not only did God know we wouldn't be but he loved us so much, anyways, that He sent His only son to die for us. Now THAT'S anazing!

Bracing for the backlash: NO we don't think we can earn our way into heaven, NO we don't worship Mary or the Pope, YES we are helpless without the grace of God, YES non-Catholic Christians are AWESOME and we need them to keep our pride in check!!!!

  • @SuposedArt
    @SuposedArt 13 лет назад

Well, damn that was true. Deep down I feel like I know that the only thing that is saving me is the grace of God, but it is so hard to put into practice. I constantly want to save myself; not just with sin but in everything I do. And even now I can easily scream, "I AM A DIRTY NASTY SINNER!" and mean it, because I still feel like I can protect myself here. None of you know me or can judge me. At this present moment I would never be able to scream that out in a crowd of people though.

I confessed something to God and it releved some stress and agony but i confessed to a friend now the stress and agony is virtually gone. So i would recomend letting go of your fear of telling some one and just do it. God bless you all!

A pastor asked once in a meeting, why we sometimes worry about pleasing people before God? I answered because we know God will always be there, no matter what we do. He said "Good ol God huh?" I think that's another reason why we have a harder times confessing to people than God. We know God will forgive us and always be there, and people might not.

I also struggle with the fact that because I know I'm forgiven, I do things that I know I shouldn't. There's a place in the bible where Paul talks about not letting the grace we have in Christ become a "license to sin" so to speak. I have trouble with obedience, and I guess it's what mike's saying about confessing to "real people" that brings our sin into perspective and allows us to heal and be accountabl

I love this! I love that in my Catholic faith we have sacraments which help us to strengthen our relationship in Christ. One of the seven sacraments is confession where you go to a priest who is acting in persona Christi (2 Corinthians 2:10) in that moment when a believer confesses his sins and is given a blessing of absolution (forgiveness). We make an Act of Contrition (verbal prayer) and our sins are forgiven. We have been given this sacrament by Christ himself and it is beautiful.

Reminds me of how challenging and beautiful the 2,000 year-old sacrament of Confession really is... Don't get me wrong, the priest doesn't forgive my sins (JESUS does - as the Catholic Church teaches), but God has chosen to use others to bring that forgiveness and healing to us. What an awesome thing. What a beautiful gift.
I'm guessing none of the guys from this band are Catholic, but SO many of their songs are so deeply Catholic that I often wonder if they really even know it...

I loved this. You guys were also awesome at sonshine and I loved your message it helped me out because a few days before I came to sonshine I did something I wasn't to proud off. I went of to a friends house and had a drink with her. She convinced me to do it even though I didn't really want to. She made me fell guily for not wanting to do it because she said "were going off to college" which we are but it shouldn't matter we not old enough, but after that night I prayed and that seemed to help

Just want to thank Mike and the rest of the band for spreading the Good News of our Savior Jesus Christ. Every time you post a new video journal I soak up the message that you prepared. Sometimes the message is so simple which is why I forget to apply it in my own life. It is much easier for me to "repent" to God instead of repenting to someone face-to-face, and this is wrong. When I repent to God I need to take it more seriously and make more effort to apologize to the people I have hurt face-to-face. Tenth Avenue has impacted my life greatly, and they are such a blessing. Thank you so very much for your service to the King! =)
