I bought the 1150 6/7 years ago and it arrived boxed with the manual. No DVD instruction, no 'free' tuition that I had heard rumoured, not even a thank you for your custom. For just about the most expensive overlocker on the market I did expect a little more. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with the machine - it's a workhorse. However, I would advise anyone thinking of purchasing a serger, to look at other makes that do the same thing, got all the same bells and whistles but are a quarter of the price you'll pay for the Bernina name. And by the way, is it not time this video was updated? It's got 1970's written all over it. Sorry for the rant, but I guess I never quite got over my disappointment over the 'customer care'.
Dear Euphemia, we're sorry to hear that your experience with BERNINA wasn't a positive one. Do you live in the US and did you buy from a BERNINA dealer? I'm asking this because until recently with the COVID-19 crisis US dealers were not allowed to ship machines to customers. Machines had to be picked up at the store where, in fact, the dealer would offer support and instructions. It is important to us that our customers learn how to get the most out of our products. However, the offers and service levels differ from country to country and even from dealer to dealer as our retailer network is made-up of small, independently owned businesses. As for the video above: We totally agree with you that it looks outdated. We will not update it though because the 1150 is no longer part of our product portfolio.
@@BerninaInternational I am in Scotland, and I bought it online from Bernina. It was 6/7 years ago and because I was not picking it up personally, I was surprised at the sparseness of the transaction - as I say even a dvd or reference to more information. Anyway, we live and learn. I rest my case.
@elslec The 1300 DC is the predecessor of the 1300 MDC and technically similar. To thread it please follow the instructions in the video above. If you still have troubles threading your serger we recommend getting in touch with the nearest BERNINA dealer, see bernina-dot-com-slash-dealersearch
sorry, what I mean is Bernina 1300 DC. I just bought second hand 1300 DC. Could you pls. upload a video on how to thread this model? and how it works? I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you very much. The manual is so confusing, I can't understand it.
Actual threading information starts at about 5 minutes. At 8:28 the instructions saying "follow the green guide" doesn't work for the 1300 because there are two green paths and then when threading the yellow there are also two paths. As well, there are additional hooks above the needles and there are unclear instructions on how to run the thread through these hook for the 1300. If you have a 1300 this video does not make things clear. The Heirloom Creations video ruclips.net/video/LjtH58dKDiw/видео.html is much better for 1300 MDC owners.
I agree, this video doesn't show you how to thread a 1300, but I didn't find the other link you gave any better because the demonstrator glossed over the most difficult part for me! The 1300 seems so much more complicated for the green and yellow threading paths than the 1500 and the threads don't stay in the hooks. I love my 1300 MDC but threading is a nightmare!
Dear Sheryl, for these early models there are no instruction videos. Please contact your BERNINA dealer who will certainly be pleased to help and offers classes. Kind regards
Do you have any videso on the bernette benina 2000 funlock 004? I need to know how to use the blind stitch foot, it just get stucked! the trhead traps the foot!!! help, please!!!
I have both of these machines and they are useless ! There is no way they will get a good stitch. Do you recommend any particular thread ? I am using over locker thread on a cone that I bought from the same shop that I purchased the machines from.
Dear Susan, the quality of the stitch strongly depends on the thread tension settings. For the correct settings, please refer to the tables in the user manual that came with the machine. If this doesn't help, please ask you BERNINA dealer for a training. He will be happy to help.
Dear Jill, the BERNINA 1200 is a relatively old machine that is no longer part of our product portfolio. We don't offer video tutorials for this machine. Instructions and threading charts can be found in your user manual. If you don't have the manual you can download a PDF from our website: www.bernina.com/en-US/Machines-US/Overlocker-Serger/Serger-Overlocker/BERNINA-1200MDA#!support
Tried an overlocker in Textiles class! Was fun, but seemed to be a pain to rethread.

@elslec We are not aware of a BERNINA model called "300DC". Maybe a typing error? Kind regards from Steckborn.
