    I have a different instant pot so I had to change the recipe a little but I’m hoping that it turns out well for me! I have the ultimate lid one. It couldn’t fit my jars with or without the rack so I had to put the cream directly in the pot. I steamed it for a min and added the started then when I used my yogurt setting it pasteurized the cream for 30 mins (there was no way to bypass this) so then I had to let it cook and add starter again 😅 hoping I don’t have any negative results but I’m sure I’ll be ok! The only plus is I can set my yogurt to ferment for like 20 hrs so I didn’t have to run it through twice. Tomorrow afternoon I should have my results. I’m planning to let it firm up in the fridge for at least 24 hrs before using it

      How did it turn out?

      @@StarkeyatRingo so good I’ll be making sour cream like this again for sure best onion dip I ever had. I will say it came out of the instant pot super watery but I just put it in the fridge and it got thick after a day or two

    Hi. What is the purpose of the steam step? Is it just to bring the cream up to room temp?

    You don’t mention anything about the pressure valve. Should it be open or closed? I closed it after it vented steam a while. I hope I didn’t ruin it. It seems as though the one minute count down didn’t start until it reached pressure.

    If I use raw cream do I still need the culture?

    Can you make yogurt in a instant pot without a “yogurt” setting?

    • @Brigholmes
      @Brigholmes 4 года назад +3

      You should be able to use the "keep warm" setting to make the yogurt.

    does this last as long as store bought and does the texture get weird if you freeze it?

    Couldn't you adjust the house on the yogurt setting to be 16 hrs? Or do you have to do something specific at 8 hrs?

      Yes you are right! For some reason when I did the video my IP would not go past 8 hours. I'm sure it was a user error! ha! But just set it to 16 hours.

    Isn’t this just plain yogurt ?

    Do you know if this will work ok with heavy cream?

    • @Brigholmes
      @Brigholmes 4 года назад +1

      Yes, that is what I use for making most of my sour cream.

    for measurements... do I use the cup that comes with the ip??

    • @YYZed
      @YYZed 6 лет назад +1

      RebeccaSouthCarolina that's a very good question. The cup she used in the video is the one that comes with the instant pot. This makes the measurements questionable, as it is not a one cup measure.

    • @traildadd

      It’s only the steaming water that is measured. I think any measuring cup will be close enough.

      Why are you looking at the actual cup being used? The words were on the screen that read ONE CUP OF WATER.
