You know a parks lineup is rough when a larson loop is ranked that high. This park does really seem odd as a six flags park, it seems more like a small independent park.

That’s because until like 2 or 3 years ago it was a small independent park

When I first moved to Oklahoma. Frontier City was owned by 6 Flags. But then independent owned. Now owned by 6 Flags again.

When I visited this park Diamond Back was closed sadly. I did get to ride Sidewinder at Elitch Gardens though, which is similar enough. Sad to think that might be the best thrill ride/coaster you can get in Denver/OKC. When you said "...but it's something to look forward to if I return to this park" I really felt that "if."

Update, as of my quick stop to the park yesterday. My new # 1 at the park is the Gully Washer waterslides. The purple & orange slides were better than the green, as those 2 had a sudden burst of speed in the middle of the slide, almost like a mid-course launch. Those were quite intense & now among my favorite body slides ever. Green started off aggressive then let up. All 3 are smooth on a bare back.
I got on Quick Draw before leaving, and there were sounds when I hit the target, kind of like explosion sounds. There was no visual red laser where I was shooting though. Many of the targets did have some kind of visual response when they were shot. I had only ridden it once before, so I don't remember how it was then.
I again didn't get on the log ride. It was the only ride with a line (even the waterslides were walk-ons in the 100 degrees), and they had to shut it down for a cleanup on one of the logs just before I got in line.

Those slides sound pretty good! I only rode Quick Draw in 2020, but it sounds better now.

This park left a lot to be desired, even for a small park. Hope they get something in the next five years or so to bring me back. Diamondback was great tho with the ejector.

When I went on August 7, 2019, I rode Tornado, the ride at the 0:22 second mark, and I rode with my brother and my cousin, my brother wanted to see if the lapbars lifted up, so when we were spinning, he tried to lift it, and it ended up lifting XD
    Here is my top 3:
    1. Diamondback
    2. Wildcat
    3. Silver Bullet
The only reason I ranked Silver Bullet below Wildcat is because when I rode it, it ran pretty sluggish.

Yay! My home park. Oddly, I also haven't yet ridden what you're missing. Since we're including shows, the Wild West stunt show might be my # 1. It is such a fun show. I'm not sure how similar it is to the one at Knott's, if they still have it.
From my visits in 2003-04, I would have to put erUPtion ahead of Silver Bullet. I remember it feeling insane, and I couldn't believe I had enough guts to ride it (many times). I couldn't believe such a ride existed, and at our little park. I remember the old drop tower being quite good as well, but I don't remember how good the airtime was. I was shocked that it got removed, but I knew erUPtion wouldn't last.

I've been wanting to return here for a while, and I was planning on doing so soon. earlier today I learned that both silver bullet and diamondback haven't operated so far this season. the park wouldn't be so bad if it was at least run well.

  • @maxhagenauer24
    @maxhagenauer24 2 года назад +1

This might have the weakest collection of any six flags park. But the tiny collection is quite unique. They have an old Schwarzdof Looper which is a type of ride we never want to see go. A rare model Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster, and an Arrow Shuttle Loop. That I some old ride you can't say no to.

I know; as a coaster 'thusie you've been conditioned to not misame a coaster by putting the word "The" before the title, but it's actually "The Diamondback", NOT "Diamondback". The former is what you mean and the latter is the B&M hyper at The King's Island! my bucketlist coaster as opposed to the one I rode at Great Adventure in August 1981; my 1st inverting coaster, that I was so nervous to ride because of it. Turns out it was the airtime that impressed me! Rode the shorter train version at Blackpool in late October 2019.
