I think the signs are a great idea since people tend to be unaware of how toxic they can be. The reminder to be positive and keep negative actions and thoughts at bay especially in the merge community center is very necessary for our people. Great Job Mark! People from African descent being called, or calling themselves black is just the vernacular used in the States. It used to be; European descent = white, African descent = black, Asian descent = yellow, Mexican/South American descent = brown, Native American descent = red. Now apart from the Latinos, very few of the people of those groups are actually their assigned color, but at least in the US, brown is already taken in that context. Of course can't really call people yellow or red anymore, so maybe the use of the word black will change too. African American doesn't distinguish between the decedents of the voluntary and involuntary migrations, and the term appears to be more in use outside of the black community. It just shows how long it takes for people to change terms, but maybe your next comment will do it 😜
