Have you got a grit sand screeding video? I’m 30 taught by my dad so I’ve been working with him for about 18 years, I’ve just always had a nightmare with screeding, I was taught using scaffolding poles with a timber screeder notched out, I have lads that do it for me now but your way with the conduit and the purpose made screed bar just looks bang on, it would’ve been a nightmare to pull on timber can only pull about 3m wide and keep it compact. I don’t know if my dads taught me over the top, we stone obviously. Sand compact, screed, compact, screed and compact again before blocks go down.
Hi Thomas thanks for watching mate. So as for the speeding rails yeh there awesome so easy to work with here’s the link. www.probst-handling.com/uk/products/details/screeding-rail-kit-azl-ep-for-handscreeding-system-easyplan-ep-uni As for the sand layer I don’t actually use sand anymore I only use stone dust 6mm to dust compacts really well before instal of the blocks. Hope that helps 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping I saw you were walking on it, like you know that can’t happen with sand, to be fair my lads are always walking in it 😂 I don’t think I can get the limestone dust I can get granostone that’s what they call it in Yorkshire?
Great job. I'm doing my patio and using a mersey grit base with 60mm concrete sets. Should I compact the grit 1st then put the block down then compact again? As I'm going to struggle to get the block flush with the concrete edging. Cheers.
Hello Are you expecting the blocks to drop down again with a final compaction. Or are you compacting the stone/sand and that's the final level that you place the blocks on ?

@@thomasthetankengine2257 and the good thing is you can walk on it and wouldn’t have to level it again as it’s already to go 👍🏴

@@thomasthetankengine2257 bummer !! Some people I know use 6mm clean like I used on the permeable driveway I did last.
Good drainage too 🤔👍🏴

Yes compact before and after every time
When paved you’ll need a matt under the wacker to protect the pavers 👍🏴
@@tidybrickslandscaping thanks for the reply and enjoy yer hols, cheers 🍻
@@garyross7607 brockstone is from round your area check him out on RUclips 👍🏴
Did you install a soak away or drainage ?

Hello
Are you expecting the blocks to drop down again with a final compaction.
Or are you compacting the stone/sand and that's the final level that you place the blocks on ?
If they were laid on sand then I would allow compaction to drop slightly but this type of stone it’s finish level is what it is it won’t move 👍🏴
