Have used your checklist to create a shortened version of a single page for each plane. Well, still working my way through each plane. Having a single page with necessary checklist items, as well as location for each switch. Very helpful to have your checklists to work from initially. Ive donated a one time amount some time back, just so I didnt have to go through donate for each list. As Ive downloaded more I will paypal again soon. Thanks again
Thank you!
I'm working flight line aircraft maintenance at SFO and found this very helpful. Thank you.
Captain and LCA on the RJ here, make sure you start one engine at a time, you can’t start both at the same time and also first you hit the start button and at about 20% n2 if everything is stable then you bring the thrust lever to idle.
I'll reply here rather than to all the comments :) This was just a simple procedure to functionally start the aircraft for newcomers - not a full procedure to operate it as you might in the real world :) otherwise we would take three times longer and saturate everybody with the workload :). Great feedback though!
Thank you. A simplier type a learning!
Great!
Thanks for this, have been planning a flight and wanted to use this plane. This makes start up a breeze.
Thanks you so much, this came out much quicker than expected :)
You're welcome :)
Still some nice looking aircraft these and I have to try some of the checklists - Wonder in 2023 + what updates may come or not for these - so many other good planes to come hopefully 🤞
Always a lovely nice real video review or start up 🆙
Does the “Power Fuel” button for the APU illuminate in the real plane? Just seems odd that there is no way to know if the button is engaged or not
Great guide as usual!
Thanks!
Everytime you cross a runway all lights should come on, taking off with the taxi light also on and you climb with V2 +20kts as per your Vy speed (best rate).
Hello Jon ! What a lovely aircraft !
I've always liked the CRJ. It's not really "study level", but there's lots to do :)
Gear up! Speed mode! And adjust for V2 plus 20kts. You should have bugged your speeds as per your preflight.
my first stop after downloading- as always...
Heh :) Remember sometimes the aircraft have updated since I recorded, so what I'm doing might not be correct!
Excellent video Jon ! I recently returned to CRJ, so I’ve been in the process of recapping the whole process of flying CRJ successfully. Wasn’t there an update like a month ago ? Anyway, back to watching :)
may I ask how did you get the crj?
Bought it from Aerosoft.
I was geting into the Cessna Citation Longitude when I saw this CRJ. Now I'm wondering if I should bother with the Longitude with less functionalities and go for the CRJ ? Oh and I like how the FMC is like the 737-800. Already a motivator :)
They are both good :)
I didn't wonder too long 😂. Started a couple of flights today. Thanks for your Startup docs.
great vid, but ill never understand why msfs guys refuse to use a head tracker like its 2006
It's not a case of refusing to - a lot of people cannot afford them. Plus it's a very niche piece of hardware. I tend to record videos based on the majority of viewers.
Im a headtracker user from DCS which is required. However for Msfs, I find that with the Headtracker, I needed to bind a key to activate and deactivate. Good for taxiing but in flight, I find having a sready sight to manipulate the buttons much easier deactivated.
Landing lights not on for takeoff?
I might have missed it here - but yes, commercial traffic should normally have lights on below 10,000ft. This was more of a functional "get the cockpit configured" walk-through - once you get into an actual flight, there's a lot more to talk about :)
Do not retract the flaps unless you reach your flap retraction altitude and the minimum speed for flap retraction.
Your FCP should have already been done before you started engines.
Stab trim, yaw dumpers all that misc stuff should have been done as part of your captain’s flow prior to starting the aircraft.
