I went to High School with Ronald Curry! Hampton High School, C/o 96'! We were #1 in the Nation that season, & won back to back Championships! He did Things on the field that PS4 haven't created yet, No Lie! & one of the nicest people on Earth! It's an honor to call him my friend. He Brother was a beast too! Almondo Curry! Great Video! #Memories😁😎😁
stand up 757. it was 804 back then lol. i was a kid during them days like 11 or 12 after my rec league games and would go to the hi school games with my aunts who was in high school at the time. everyone wanted to be curry. vick was the man too but he wont talked about like curry. he was in the papers every week!
I thought Almondo "Muff" was his cousin. He had a good career at UVA. I wish Ron stayed with Football and at UVA. To that point, UVA had the last 3 ACC leaders in passing efficiency. I saw him play both sports and honestly didn't see him as good a bball player. I think he was a big guard with toughness on the high school level but he was special on the gridiron. Best I've seen.
Man Ronald was a beast. Still to this day him and Mondo are the only two football players that I've seen consistently spin out of a defenders arms. Crazy talent. I played with Vick and I can Honestly say Curry was the best. We were nervous whenever he was on the field.
I understand that Curry was supposed to be much better, but considering his switch to WR in the NFL and being a somewhat good receiver is impressive to me
I agree. State champs in HS. Top recruit in 2 sports. National player of the year in 2 sports. Played D1 in 2 sports played NFL 2 different positions this dude is a LEGEND no matter how it turned out. I hope he's doing good today
He should have played for Virginia, they had a shitty basketball team compared to NC, so Curry could have been the main guy and averaged over 20 points a game and get drafted high in the NBA.
Ana Castellano he sucked at basketball, he couldn’t shoot the ball, he was missing wide open layups, average at everything else His future would of been football if he only stuck with football and not let basketball interrupt his focus, just as Vick
I think alot of time good players think bigger schools is the automatic best fit for them. When you join a stacked team you're going to have to sacrifice.
That's because he actually puts work into his videos and is informative, instead of just stringing together a bunch of easily-found clips and not leveling the volume across them like yourself. KTO has much better videos than you. No offense.
You're certainly better than a lot of highlight channels, even with some occasional volume aberration, that's why i made sure to say "no offense." Karsten's THE MAN when it comes to these types of videos, but I've actually watched and enjoyed quite a few of your vids of as well. Thanks for the uploads and the reply!
Cheshire Cynic np, i know you want to hit that sub button 👀. And yeah KTO is better than me honestly I can agree on that but we have different style and presentation. Some people like a voice over, others like straight game commentary
For sure, dude, with the older clips and style of videos you do, the original commentary is my preference as well. You might consider doing an intro-outro thing, where you just give a quick run-down of the topic and sort of clips you'll be showing in the video - I feel like that might help give your vids a little more personality and flavor, making your channel stand out over the other highlight channels. Bro, don't beg for subs... It makes you seem desperate... If you take anything from KTO, mirror his uploading philosophy - "Build it, and they will come."
I had the opportunity of playing with Ron C for two years at UNC. That dude was one hell of an athlete. We had the wrong system for him to flourish as a QB and he got injured my senior and it slowed him a little after that. People didn’t know that he tore his Achilles Tendon in 99 but still came back to finish with a solid career at UNC. That’s my dude and UNC brother for life. # Tar Heels
You missed a big part of Curry’s story. He was on his way to becoming a star for the Raiders but he had back to back season ending injuries that really derailed his career.
I grew up watching Curry while playing little league in Hampton and Newport News. I even watched his film in highschool while playing in NC. He will always be one of my favorite players. He was a beast!
That’s what’s up. Those are the Best* players man, the 1’s you identify so much with around that Junior High age that they are always your favorite. All the way through no matter how it turned out. That’s how Grandmama aka Larry Johnson is for me. That’s My Guy right there. He was Zion coming out of college through his 1st few years in The NBA before LJ’s back injury. LJ still made a great career. Not all time Great like he was on path for but he changed his game a bit & started popping 3’s but was always a team leader and led the KNiCKS to the NBA Finals as an 8 seed. aka Mr. 4 Point Play.

Crazy, never heard of him. Goes to show how tough it really is to make it and how things outside of your own control need to take place often times to really make it big in many circumstances
KTO I remember all this & you have a passion for this game & you go beyond college to high school to breakdown the fact that most people don't have a clue on please keep up the good work & never give up your passion for this.
Ronald Curry is still considered the greatest high school football player ever in Virginia. In addition to playing QB, he played defensive back and also returned kicks. He made first-team All-State at all of those positions. In fact, on the Virginia high school coaches all-state team, he was the FIRST-TEAM ALL-STATE QB FOR ALL FOUR YEARS HE PLAYED FOR HAMPTON HIGH! He was overrated as a basketball player, because he couldn't devote enough time to practicing due to spending so much time with football and academics. He also played high school tennis for a year! Imagine Allen Iverson, who he knew, playing high school tennis, which was a "country club sport" back then. LOL. He was a great student, also, so I'm sure he spent a lot of time studying. Playing point guard is a "practice position." If you're 6-11, you don't need to spend as much time practicing, because you're shooting closer to the basket. Ronald Curry peaked as a football player as a high school junior. You'll never see a better punt returner in high school than Ronald Curry was. You had to see it to believe it. Anyway, he went to the wrong college if he wanted to play QB in the NFL. There are coaches known for being able to send QB's to the NFL, and North Carolina is not one of those schools where those coaches are. But, he had a nice NFL career as a wide receiver. I think he played for 8 years, and made millions of dollars. I read that he even overcame TWO torn achilles tendon tears, having to sit out a full year each time. I hear that now he's an NFL assistant coach. Ronald Curry was hated by University of Virginia fans, because supposedly he verbally committed to UVa to play both sports, and then changed his mind and decided to go to rival University of North Carolina. But he seemed like a very classy guy, and he was also religious and humble. So, it all worked out well for Ronald Curry! Note: this is weird, but there has only been one person to play in the NBA and the NFL. The bizarre part is that that person was Bud Grant, who was a famous NFL head coach. He played just two NBA seasons and averaged 2.6 points per game but was a reserve on the Lakers' 1950 championship team. In the NFL, Grant also only played two seasons, but he had a decent run in the CFL and eventually became a legendary coach with the Vikings." Bud Grant hardly looked like a former professional athlete when I saw him on TV. Of course, he played before integration also.
Nelson Kane he should of just played football like Vick, basketball made him loose focus and he wasn’t all that good, saw him play, he was a terrible shooter
Danny Ainge, Jim Brown and Wilt Chamberlain, and Nate Robinson were ridiculously good athletes, as well. All were at least state players of the year (if not All-American) in multiple sports, played or could have played multiple sports at the D-1 level, and could have been Olympic athletes in sports like track & field. Ainge was recruited and/or drafted to the pros in three sports! Jim brown was an all-American in lacrosse. Other elite high school athletes: Deion Sanders, Tim Tebow, Bo Jackson, Jim Thorpe, Chuck Connors...
John Shreve if Noel was just now coming out he'd get drafted in the first 4 rounds.. he had legit 4.2 speed!! The NFL goes crazy after guys like that now
dc7236 Noel is now back at WVU to finish his degree, and he plays in a new semi pro league at The Greenbrier, where the Saints and Texans hold their training camps. The league has 4 teams and has some pretty cool names.
One VERY important thing missing from the video is the fact that he tore his Achilles tendon at unc early in his career(sophomore year I believe) . The coaching changes didnt help either but that had a huge impact on him. He also tore his Achilles in 2005.
Grew up in Miami, Fl. Played and saw a lot of great high school football there. As an adult, I lived in Va and got a chance to see Ronald Curry play on several occasions. He is hands down the greatest high school football player I ever saw.

Great video. Got the pleasure of seeing him play here in high school. Imo by far the greatest high school football player I’ve ever seen. I wish there was RUclips and other videos around when he played to show just how special of a player he was before the injuries. Saw his team dominate opposition. 1996 team is by far the greatest high school team I’ve ever seen. What they did to teams was unheard of here in Virginia. To beat the #2 and #3 best team in the state 76-14 and 51-0 is still hard to believe. You had to be there to see it. The 51-0 game wasn’t even that close. Without the terrible field conditions they would’ve easily scored 70 in the state championship
Could you make a video about Matt Blanchard, the QB who never lost a collegiate game and won a national championship game every year. I mean he never lost a game as a starter
RecThxrtxTxo Gaming you can easily make an outcome video. would the Seahawks become a dynasty? would the Patriots still have their 5th ring? etc etc. it's more of a what would happen in the future, not just that game
I'm from Norfolk VA went to Booker t Washington we had the #1 defense in the state they beat us 40 nuthn Ronald Curry was an absolute beast he was the GOAT in VA highschool sport only other guy fuckin with him is Percy Harvin
Make a "What if Plaxico never shot himself" video. Giants were looking GOOD after beating the pats and after that incident just couldn't put complete games together. Combination of missing a tall red zone/ deep threat & the media circus that ensued totally derailed a chance to repeat
Bruh! I love that outro! Great beat. KTO banging out top vids as usual. With athletes like Curry, ones that have elite skill sets, must have such a hard time staying humble. They seem invincible, but all it takes is one bad judgement call and it's over. Tough break, but hey, at least he still had an NFL career.
Didn't he get hurt in college and have to split time at QB with Damian Durant? I also remember him tearing his Achilles tendon at least once in the pros.....I was definitely a Ronald Curry fan
another thing people forget the next year after Curry was UNC's infamous 8-20 season the loss of J Peppers ,Curry, and Joe forte was to much if he came back wouldve not fell of the cliff the way they did.
I had given up for years on anything mainstream media wise that was decent for sports news/stories(cough ESPN and the rest) then I find this channel a few days ago. Oh yeah definitely subscribed. Outstanding videos!!!!!!!!
“Greatest HS Athlete You’ve Never Heard Of?” Curry was easily the most famous HS athlete in the state of Virginia after only his freshman year; which is extraordinary when you consider that was the same year Thomas Jones’ was breaking every state Rushing record. By the time he was a senior, he wasn’t just famous, he was legendary. Accounting for 84 TD’s in a season will do that.
I don’t normally comment on videos but I love this guy so much!!!!!!!! I’ve been subscribed since last weekend and his videos are just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hampton is not the home of UVA. UVA is in Charlottesville. The two towns are not even near each other. Hampton is almost as far away from Charlottesville as it to the District of Columbia.
UVA was the main D1 school in Virginia, Virginia Tech was a little brother, especially before Mike Vick went their, it was in a smaller league trying to get into a bigger conference
Wow I grew up a die hard raider fan and I remember curry, the former qb turner wr because of his catch in the snow against denver! His backstory is incredible. Thanks for the video!
Highlight Heaven I was saying it sounded like a Mike Korzemba title, but KTO obviously has better videos. But Korzemba had a title similar to this regarding Sebastian Telfair.
You might not recognize it. But real sports fans certainly know his name. He had almost 90 catches one year after making the switch from playing QB his entire life. Plus his career was hurt most by injuries
I remember he instantaneously became a favorite player of mine, when I heard he was both National Player of the Year, in football and basketball. And I basically followed his entire UNC career. Even up to the point when he got benched as UNC quarterback, for the far superior Darrian Durant.
You should check out a kid named Akise Teague. He had 2,200 yards and 43 touchdowns in a season while consistently being one of the shortest guys on the field. He won Mr. Football Ohio in 2010. He helped Ursuline HS win three straight state championships. And then he fucked it all up.
Im from va seen Curry in person he was great beyond great. We had Brooks, Curry, Vick and Iverson all came from my area back to back the 757 breed greats and those just the ones that made it most feel victim to the streets
Please send this to reporters at the Buffalo News. They neef to know Ronald Curry, how great he really was. Now he is on Buffalo Bills coaching staff as qb coach.
Tyrone Vaughns 1982..one of the greatest high school wide receivers ever, seemingly vanished after reneging on his verbal commitment to LSU and enrolling at Tulane.
A KTO video is the only thing that could wake me up before September ends
Salami with the heat
Happy dated reference day hahaha chuck norris trolololol

Terrell Pryor similar to Curry. The Answer was the first Michael Vick.

I also remember him tearing his Achilles tendon at least once in the pros.....I was definitely a Ronald Curry fan
tore his achille s in college also. by the jr year yea he and durant shared time! he leaves out that he had nearly 90 catches the one year in nfl
another thing people forget the next year after Curry was UNC's infamous 8-20 season the loss of J Peppers ,Curry, and Joe forte was to much if he came back wouldve not fell of the cliff the way they did.
tom bradley One of the worst seasons to watch as a carolina fan
Durant was a much better passer than curry and at the time unc was geared for a mobile qb system
Do " better when on another team" like Donald Penn when he got to Oakland from Tampa or Brett Favre with the Packers
better than brett farve would be charles woodson. but thats probably because he stopped partying so much
Donald Penn went to 1 Pro Bowl with Tampa and 1 Pro Bowl with Oakland. What are you talking about?
I had given up for years on anything mainstream media wise that was decent for sports news/stories(cough ESPN and the rest) then I find this channel a few days ago. Oh yeah definitely subscribed. Outstanding videos!!!!!!!!
Hey KTO have any advise of how to grow a sports RUclips channel I have one where I make football videos
A2K Football be consistent, make it with passion and not for results
Dude your channel is awesome!!!
Both of yours
Leon Fot thx verrry much
Football Blitz 24 my ADVICE would be take an English course.
That music always gets hyped, nice video dude
“Greatest HS Athlete You’ve Never Heard Of?” Curry was easily the most famous HS athlete in the state of Virginia after only his freshman year; which is extraordinary when you consider that was the same year Thomas Jones’ was breaking every state Rushing record.
By the time he was a senior, he wasn’t just famous, he was legendary. Accounting for 84 TD’s in a season will do that.
Most sports fans haven't heard of him.
I don’t normally comment on videos but I love this guy so much!!!!!!!! I’ve been subscribed since last weekend and his videos are just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YO, KTO, I HAVE THE GREATEST VIDEO IDEA EVAH! Ok so, my IDEA is "What if Alex Smith never got hurt on the 49ers."
Where have I been? How did I miss this channel? Great stuff!
Hey KTO how's life been. Make a video about how BJ Symons got 5800 yards if u can. Or make a video about the greatest college football teams ever.
E-Rock & T-Man it's good, and I will think about it for sure!
KTO ok cool!
That catch in the snow tho! You always leave me with a good feeling after I watch your videos!
Hampton is not the home of UVA. UVA is in Charlottesville. The two towns are not even near each other. Hampton is almost as far away from Charlottesville as it to the District of Columbia.
Good point. When KTO mentioned Curry going to his home team for college, I thought why would he go to Hampton University?
Vault 703 Overseer cuz he was a d1 talent and the only d1 schools in va is uva and vt , that have good publicity nsu is one but they not doin nothin
UVA was the main D1 school in Virginia, Virginia Tech was a little brother, especially before Mike Vick went their, it was in a smaller league trying to get into a bigger conference
It would've been Virginia Tech. Lots of Hampton Roads players have played for tech and the following for tech is much larger in that area.
Keep up the great videos! Finally found a channel I can enjoy!
VA BABY... We produce talent
hell yea we do
jayson smith musicians
Chris brown
Missy elliot
Timbaland
Pharell
Clipse
Kelly Richardson Especially Hampton
I stopped watching sports for a few years but literally as soon as I saw a KTO video he got me hooked and interested in sports once again.
Please do Marcus Dupree.
Yes! The ESPN 30 for 30 on him is one of the most moving stories I've ever seen.
Wow I grew up a die hard raider fan and I remember curry, the former qb turner wr because of his catch in the snow against denver! His backstory is incredible. Thanks for the video!
KTO wassup bud
Choke Nasty what up man
KTO Oh yesh
KTO deserves 100k. The videos he drop are just too interesting.
Sounds like a mike korzemba title
Bobby Popick no it's a KTO title
Why this high school star could have BROKEN THE NBA
Highlight Heaven I was saying it sounded like a Mike Korzemba title, but KTO obviously has better videos. But Korzemba had a title similar to this regarding Sebastian Telfair.
You deserve so much more subs then you have great vids keep it up
I'm surprised people know who curry is outside of VA.
I'm from Florida but when I lived in DC we heard about that brother
damn kto you been blowing up man. remember not that long ago when you were at 10k subs. keep chasing your pasion man
Karl Budde thanks Karl!
Bruh how you player of the year in high school for football and basketball but not even be a recognizable name in either?
You might not recognize it. But real sports fans certainly know his name. He had almost 90 catches one year after making the switch from playing QB his entire life. Plus his career was hurt most by injuries
I will NEVER forget this play!!!!!!!
thank you for the memories. I was a die hard raider fan growing up.
You ran track and played football doesn't that make you a great high school football player??
Beau Hatch not on a national level
KTO so on more so a county level or town?
ThePitRoadCone more on a World Level. KTO is the 🐐🐐🐐
I remember he instantaneously became a favorite player of mine, when I heard he was both National Player of the Year, in football and basketball.
Dom1118 I gotta see this
Im from va seen Curry in person he was great beyond great. We had Brooks, Curry, Vick and Iverson all came from my area back to back the 757 breed greats and those just the ones that made it most feel victim to the streets
Dom1118 yeet
So Real isn't Joe Smith dat played 4 tha Terps frum dat area too?
Ehem, everyone here google Kyler Murray Allen Texas, then stop talking
great videos bro keep up the great work!
Ronald curry had one of the greatest catches in NFL history
I go to this channel everyday waiting for a great video from kto
Marcus Dupree was the best high school player ever
Bo Jackson , and Hershel Walker were better.
Your background music is the best and the reason I watch u, pls never change it
#crabbernation 🏈🦀🦀
S Smith #1.....
Bruins 🐻🐻
Please send this to reporters at the Buffalo News. They neef to know Ronald Curry, how great he really was. Now he is on Buffalo Bills coaching staff as qb coach.
He probably chose Carolina over Virginia because he wouldn’t have to go to class there.
Saint Michael basketball
HA
