    5 stars are largely just physically advanced at a young age. Coaches tend to be blind to the red flags when it comes to talent. It becoming apparent that the things that make a great HS player and the things that make a great pro are very different. The kids that had to study and learn skills are better off because they learn how to work towards greatness instead of relying on talent. In the pros everyone is big. Everyone is fast and talented. Now you've made it the whole way without the character and discipline it takes to be a successful professional.

These kids were superior to other kids, not young men wanting to do the same thing that he does. Teens superior to other Teens is not a freak, they are blessed to have matured faster, then they hit college and your tested, you either have the drive/ work ethics to be great or you stay a HS Sports Freak.

  • @TheJasonJackson84
    @TheJasonJackson84 4 года назад +2

    I think the biggest problem is when people assume that success at one level of football or with one team will automatically translate to the same level of success, if not higher, at another level of football or with another team. When you graduate high school and you go on to college, people think that because you are taking the talent and skill that you had in high school football to the college level that nothing else matters when that's no where near the truth. A particular coach sometimes brings the best out of you and when you move on to a different level or team and that coach is no longer around the motivation regresses somewhat. A particular scheme may suit you perfectly, but the world doesn't revolve around one person so when you are inserted into a different scheme that may not allow you to rely only on your best strengths as a player, performance may decline. Mental clarity is easily achieved in particular environments and in particular timeframes in life for each individual. The game of football is 80% to 90% mental. The prime of an individual's physical capabilities occur at a particular timeframe in their life. Injuries play a factor, big and small injuries. I think it's unfair to expect players to be as dominant as they are no matter what team or level they are on. The human element is beauty in sport. Tom Brady threw 30 tds in 29 games at Michigan, very mediocre, which is why he was a 6th round pick. He was much better at the next level. And vice versa.

      Every QB is a system QB I seen it my whole life Peyton Manning running a shotgun offense and calling his own plays was great to watch then you put him under center and have him run a West Coast offense he looked like he lost it and couldn't play anymore, all these QBs all these QBs success depends on the system and if there skill set fits it that's why any smart coach should either draft qbs that fit there system or change there system to fit there QB

    Rashan Gary is another example of how Michigan does a poor job developing players. I’m sure Michigan fans will respond with how he was a 1st round pick but what did Gary actually accomplish on the field at Michigan?

    Nkemdiche was a bust, but biggest waste of talent? Ehhh, I don't know about that. Waste, yes, biggest? Won't go that far. And Ernie Sims was good for a few years, so that's not the biggest waste. As for Vince Young...we can blame Jeff Fischer, who deserves all the blame he can get (not only for being a bad coach, but also for being a dirty coach), but Young had his own hand in that. He didn't want to be responsible until it was way too late. All of this pressure talk is true, but he also didn't go about his business the right way, and he still struggled on the field in reading defenses and memorizing his playbook. I mean, the guy talks about how hard his life was-but there are so many other players that went through (and go through) all of that too.
    Look at him at USC, you'll see similar stories-but the difference is that in college, Carroll was lenient and lax with his players. Fischer was not. I mean, it's not like Fischer made Vince spend thousands at Cheesecake Factory, did he? Young is talking about his "brand", but come on, my friend. It's football. You have to be mentally tough. I get it, people shouldn't take disrespect, but you want to be the best. You should carry yourself better than them if you're better than them.

    Why the hell would u move Clowney to DE? No doubt he has thrived on defense but rushing for an average of almost 4 touchdowns per game is spectacular. Especially considering he did it as a freshman. If its me I am keeping him on offense. He looks like he could play tight end at any level. Maybe his team had plenty of talent on offense. IDK. Maybe I wouldn’t have this opinion if not for Derrick Henry, Jimmy Graham, ect. Hell I wouldnt doubt it if he could play anywhere at any level but I would like to see a 2 TE set with him and Cam Newton catching passes from Drew Brees.
