An Allison will lock the torque converter in 2nd and above in tow/haul. The reason dyno pulls are often done in 4th gear; at least in this case, is that it’s a 1:1 ratio.
Good morning. Thanks for ALL your informative videos. I’m terminally ill for close to 9 years. Last years stroke around my 52nd Birthday took my left eyesight. I used to work on and build my own cars but dealing with blood clots throughout my body and internal organs it’s impossible. I also hardly make platelets so I get cut or scraped I bleed for days. I also have major kidney and liver disease and bleed internally everyday. My bucket list is to meet Gale and the amazing crew. I would be blessed to have you guys install all the Banks goodness on my truck. Banks idash , banks intake and exhaust and rear differential cover. I also want to have amsoil bypass filter system. I would be forever GRATEFUL. GOD BLESS AND THANKS.
Crazy Bc that intake isn’t getting any flow like if the truck is driving. It’s just sucking the hot air from the engine. That fan isn’t the same as traveling 65-70 down the highway. But good gain. I’m sure they are playing with perimeters on the Dyno
At the risk of sounding like a hair splitter, the exhaust temp is closer to 1100-1200 degrees, while in regen. Great video though, Mr. Steinfeld! All I need to complete my mods to my 2019 2500 is the 5" exhaust. Got the Banks tuner & intake. Wish the exhaust would go on sale! Nice looking truck, by the way!
@@mondo9.2.5 I do like it and the Banks stuff aint cheap, by no means, but I think it's all worth the money. I eventually got the 5" exhaust and I get a lot of "OMG look at the size of that pipe"! And of coarse, (it's like a disease), I had to get the Banks Pedal Monster too! I like all the Banks products and would buy them again.
I just got the 2020 L5P Chevy with the new Alison 10 speed. I am looking to do all 3 upgrades to my truck as soon as Banks releases products for the 2020. By the way, that new 10 speed puts power to the ground much quicker than my old 2015 LML did. Looking for dyno numbers for the 2020, can't find any. Great video my man!
Yeah and go with the EZylink and when the EPA gets that court order passed theyll have all the VIN numbers of deleted trucks. Good luck ever getting it registered again unless it’s compliant. Unless it’s 07 older
Big Vol highly doubt the US government can legally take your truck off the road based on a vin number and what they think you did to your vehicle. This isn’t China.
Bryan M that’s not what the dyno says. This is what we were surprised about. Banks doesn’t even market this part as a power adder however it was worth 20hp over factory dpf back system.
That’s what I was wondering as well.. i wouldn’t thing that would add anything being DPF back. I assume you guys have dynoed with the derringer and intake minus exhaust?
@@bryanm6085 knowing Banks Power they are probably already investigating why the exhaust made more power. My prediction: Keep an eye on their channel for future DPF back exhaust testing. If it made more power on the dyno, Gale & the gang will figure out why!
Watch this video start @ 1:00. 4" main pipe neck down to 2-7/8" outlet hole. The banks exhaust is bigger opening = more flow. ruclips.net/video/K-7Qbfhtn6c/видео.html
So, you have 2000lbs sand in the bed, and now you've just voided your warranty by exceeding the GVWR... BTW, been running Banks product for the last 12yrs, no surprise that they make power... 2002 GMC 2500HD, 6.6l LB7...Banks Ram Air, Banks 4" downpipe back exhaust and the Banks Bullet(the pioneer b4 the derringer)...
I am most blown away at him leaning on the truck while making pulls. Must be some damn good insurance up in the Banks facility.
You make adding 100 HP look really fun.

Awesome video man. Would love to hear about what fuel economy you are getting now as well as sound/speed differences before and after. Thanks!
Ordered my intake yesterday. Looking forward to the install and results.
Thanks for the great video, considering this same setup now on my 2017 as well.
My dad did all 3. You will be happy for sure!

how do you like it so far? worth it

Can you hear the intake more than stock? I miss the sound of diesel exhaust, but I'd settle for just a little more turbo sound.. :(

I’m not really into cars but your content is so interesting!
Okay, it adds more HP and Torque. What about increasing MPG? That is my interest. Does any of these three upgrades increase you MPG?
I honestly bet they did help with mpg, it just helps the truck breathe better. But it would also make people step on it more often
Now delete all the BS dpf and egr, then let’s see what Mr. Banks can do. I’m betting it’ll be a monster.
Yes let the diesel Jesus lay hands upon the L5P

I think I’m gonna cut that slit bigger in my factory lower hole tomorrow just for giggles and block off the resonator intake
Removing the resonator is what idiots do
What was the cost of that 98hp?? What mpg did it add??
Good looking car I need this for my village 😁😁😁 what is cost of this one monster
I like your company logo
You didn't tell me address of your company?
Woah you make it look so easy to add hp
it is with diesel.
Dyno graph overlay?
Do any of the banks products void my warranty
Money well spent!😎👍
When is all that available for the 2020 duramax
What a fuel mpg? Improved ?
Very nice 👍🏼
Did this void your warranty?
Do it a video with Hailee
Yassss
I have a hard time believing a DPF-back system added any appreciable power.
It didn't
Video of cost pls!!!
Exhaust or exhaust tip I’m confused
Why are you confused? It’s clearly not just a tip.
DPF back pipe. Doesn't add any performance
@@l92denali95 show me the numbers
Can't believe they let someone lean on a vehicle doing pulls.
Does this void my warranty
No it does not. No traceability at all
do the heads too lol might need studs and gaskets too. can gm build a motor,my 2 cents lol
larry sippola Huh?
Really 445hp is what GM claims stock up is supposed to be for the L5P
thats at the crank. this is wheel hp measured.
Imagine owning a racing channel and not know crank vs wheel power
A DPF back does absolutely nothing for power. It may look nice and lower tip temp, that's it

I don't think he needs your help cause I don't see you doing nutten except spending money let's do this he is doing it all
That ending tho 😂😂
I find it odd that they wont show the viewer the dyno screen. Im calling BS on the numbers.
Dang! Not legal in California...😞
Did he say his exhaust is "PRETTY" lol, its a truck!!! Dont ever say that again! Did Gale say" lets bang this turkey" on the dyno?

My truck looks EXACTLY like this one and has 36XX lbs payload. Mine is a 3500HD SRW...
I checked the numbers for GVWR, payload, etc., and don't see how it would void the warranty.
nope, 2017 2500HD payload 2,943 Pounds.. 3500 is even more.
That did not exceed the GVWR it is somewhere around 3000 pounds for that truck
😍😎😄!
