    The Female Ghost was a four-part series from 1997, adapting ghost stories by significant female authors. Though originally broadcast in the summer, the episodes have been repeated many times, including a daily broadcast for three consecutive episodes in the Christmas schedules. The exception is the episode The Demon Lover, which has never shown up nearer to Christmas than the 6th December. However, two previous radio versions of the story have been Christmas broadcasts so I unapologetically include it as a Ghost Story for Christmas on this channel...

      'The Female Ghost' was a great series in its selection of stories. The last episode was 'The Demon Lover', which I still find incredibly chilling...
