I've started collecting all the Sherlock Holmes stories.I really like the way that Conan Doyle has writen all these books.
Waited about 10 months for these to go back on sale. Have been doing extensive research on these, as well as other leather bound publications. Your videos have been a great deal of help for which ones I've decided to buy. Love the reviews, keep up the fantastic work!

Some years ago, I searched for & located Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's former, but then derelict residence "Undershaw" in Hindhead, Surrey where he lived 1897 - 1907 and wrote "The Hound of The Baskervilles". The house has since been restored and now serves as a School for disabled children. Elementary my Dear Watson...

I ordered this exact copy through Amazon last night it will be here tm I can't wait.. I'm just starting my Leather Bound collection.. I have the Encyclopedia of Tolkien and the Mythology that inspired Middle Earth already and I love it with the ribbon and golden gilded pages. I hope to have a nice collection soon

How is the font size in this? Tend to find large editions of this size are a bit too small to read comfortably.

are there two versions on this book? im asking because in book depository i see one for "hardback" and "leather bound" tried getting a copy from barnes and noble but they wont ship that copy to canada even though i had already bought books from them a couple times already

I got a copy of the Worsworth edition of the Complete StoRies of Sherlock Holmes from a charity shop for 50 pence (UK) . When I read the line above I got goose pimples and a shudder of excitment through my spine. I am at page 700 of a 1300 page book. It's an old taty paperback which is falling apart now but still readble. I intend to buy a lovely B/N edition once I have finished this and add to my bookshelf.
so it doesn't take after the 1930 doubleday omnibus with christopher morley's preface, which is the one i had read all the way through in roughly a month during my sherlockian journey back in 1986.
Did you mention the size of the book?
I just bought this same book from Barnes and nobles brand new in the mall I paid $25 for the book and I love it the books beautiful and undamaged

Are all the stories in chronological order which makes sense? I noticed that "His Last Bow" which is the last story in which sherlock retires is not the last in the contents. My only concern is that the stories are in a confusing order
Case book of sherlock holmes was actually published 10 years after his last bow. So I think its in the order of publishing.
Which design do you prefer? The previous edition? Or this new one? And is there any significant difference between the two editions? Or just the design? Thank you!
@@FoolishFishBooks thank you!! :) cause i was actually looking for the previous one because for me it has more details and images to be notice. The design of the previous one seems vintage enough to convince that it could be decades old. This new version for me has more modern look into it. But since i am having a hard time looking for the old one i might settle for this version. :)

@@FoolishFishBooks Maybe.. But that seems a bit rough 😂 Surely someone working with book conservation will have some tricks, but I have yet to find a tutorial. I'll keep looking.
Which is the best version of this book, purely from a reading point of view? (this one being the most aesthetic one ) I ask this question as you said you liked the other version of the Divine Comedy better than the Barnes and Noble leather bound edition.
The Divine Comedy was written in 12th century Italian, so there are many English translations with varying degrees of readablility. Sherlock Holmes, on the other hand, was written in late 19th - early 20th century English , and doesn't have any alternate "translations". I hope that helps! :)
About a year later, but I think this edition is really good. I was especially pleased that it had the original version of The Resident Patient in it instead of the more common butchered version that has no right of even being published anymore as the entire reason it got butchered is moot now (long story, you'll have to Google it).
The lack of the original Strand Magazine illustrations are a bummer. Better to get the paperback.

Is it leather or plastic leather ? I mean if you have books from Canterbury classics could you make a comparison ?
Similar to that. Bonded leather is to leather what reformed ham is to ham. This is reformed leather. A leather equivalent would fetch 20x the price at the very least.

At the time I guess it was an Asus N550j. Would not recommend due to poor quality parts. I now have a Lenovo tower.

'The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes' is still under copyright.
But the books supposed to have more than one page with illustrations! Conan ask for it to make it more realistic!

Do you know if it has all the Holmes stories in it? I'm super nervous about buying it because I don't trust when a book tells me it is the "complete collection" since I've had issues with it before.

I prefer to have Sherlock Holmes works divided into 5-6 books. I don't like holding a heavy book when I'm reading in bed

As long as it has the title as "The Complete Sherlock Holmes" then yes. I believe you can buy it anywhere these days, it's only a matter of shipping. I recommend looking at your local bookstore or bookdepository (if you're patient) as they ship for free though it takes very long.
