This is a pretty amazing rendition of the first movement! Though I would've preferred a more forte and accented opening, but the rest was just phenomenal! Would love to hear the entirety of the symphony performed by the orchestra one day!❤
Yes you're exactly right. I wish too. It is extremely important to educate a NATION through Great Music, but not Rap and Reggae on the street. Bring CULTURE to your people in every classes, in that sense, this young orchestra of Philippines bare responsibility to accomplish that purpose, it is going to be a long undertaking. Bravo! Perhaps MPO can do more Baroque as I think it'll be more accessible to most Filipinos who are relatively new to classical music appreciation? More Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, etc. Don't get me wrong I like Bethoveen, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, but Baroque would be a great movement into classical music for a lot of Filipinos who have known only Pop music all their live. (I don't meam to degrade Baroque, it's my favorite classical music movement.)

We're still a long way from having a world famous orchestra, Orchestras here in the PH is still small or just plain obscure. Plus, this orchestra only play ONE movement of Beethoven's 5th, the entire piece is half-an-hour. Sorry that I'am abit of a pessimist but still the point stands. The orchestra needs a more firm and authoritarian kind of Conductor like Bernstein, Karajan etc.
