  • Jason Fox is a television personality, adventurer and former UK Special Forces soldier and Royal Marine Commando. He is best known as the longest serving directing staff on the Channel 4 television series SAS: Who Dares Wins.
As well as talking about his roots, his Royal Marine and special forces training, Jason and Aimee discuss his struggles with mental health. In 2012 he was medically discharged from the military after 20 years of service after being diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Jason opens up about the time he was ‘stood on top of a cliff, thinking about throwing [himself] off’ and how after this moment he began to open up and be more honest about what he was struggling with.
They also discuss his time as a presenter on SAS: Who Dares Wins, if the show is similar to real SAS selection and whether he feels guilty having to push contestants to their limits. They talk candidly about training former health security minister Matt Hancock, on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, with Jason saying: ‘it didn’t take long for him [Hancock] to piss us off.’

Foxy spotted that runner before Aimee had even heard his first step twenty yards behind them. I guess these guys never really switch off. This man has done more for male mental health than he’ll probably ever know. Thank you, Jason.

Great interview Aimee. well done. Jason is a good bloke. Got integrity and strength of charachter to do what he did and has done. Very brave. Got moral courage and fibre.
I love the way he is still switched on whilst talking to you. He has constant situational awareness and keeps looking back over his shoulder.
