its kinda hard to see the characters on the corners for how its desgined besides unless you already have a feel for it its kinda tough to find characters since they aren't ordered by game, series, franchise or anything really except for capcom goes on the left half and marvel on the right half. and while very catchy and classic the song is like a 5 second loop.. come on now. we all love it but... come on now
@@nikopteros1659 don’t worry . When starting the game first time with will only start with a few characters starting between Guile and Wolverine down to Hulk and Strider Hiryu . The other characters you will have to unlock by earning points . And the cost of the character are expensive so you probably won’t get them all so fast . Unless your free and really good at the game .

ahhhh what a time - back when character rosters were massive and were unlockable by playing the game rather than hidden behind DLC money walls.
and that time where half of the characters were useless in comparsion to others and no changes or updates were made unless you waited a few years and paid full price once more :D

this is a game done right.. i remember that each character on beginner level felt equally strong and fun.. it was so fun playing each character on that player level... i wasn't a high level player in this game...am sure there are characters more stronger than others.. but on beginner level its a blast experience!
The quality of the character art and animations was on another level with this one. They captured the essence of marvel characters better than marvel even could

I loved this music for the characters selection screen. It's burned into my brain. Every time I hear that music just bring back those long days at the arcade. Great times. I also was forced to buy the hard copy for the PS2 for $80. I don't care totally worth it.

I was confused on who Amingo, Ruby Heart, and SonSon were,until I realized they’re original characters. Although, it makes me question why there are even original characters in the first place

Looking at this masterpiece presentation capcom and marvel give us makes me proud to be born in a time where we all experience it’s purity as kids. This game is really what they are saying, mvc2 is a Ride you’ll never forget.

Now that I think about it, a lot of the characters on the Capcom side are really underrated.
It took me forever for me to find out Anarikis and BB Hood were from Darkstalkers, I hadn't heard of Charlie or Strider before, I don't think anyone has played Sonson's game, and I'll give a virtual cookie to anyone who can tell me Jin's, Hayato's, and Amingo's game.
• Jin Saotome -> Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness
• Hayato Kanzaki -> Star Gladiator Episode 1: Plasma Sword
• Amingo -> (Possibly a rejected Darkstalkers character)
Oh and the reason why half of the heroes on the roster are underrated (on both sides), is because it’s not about how much popularity they have, it’s about how powerful they fight.

What I never really liked about this game was that a good portion of the playable characters were all only exclusive to this series and other sequel games, which was mostly those from Capcom.

Looking back at this roster, i wish the mvc3 roster were half as good as this one, it's so small.

Man, I remember the days when I'd go for a quick trip to the local laundry to find that game along with time crisis and others. The music really brings me back to simpler times; just trying to finish the arcade mode with Spider-Man, Venom and Captain America but failing more than halfway there 😂

and HD ports on PS3 and X360.
It IS on Dreamcast, im playing it right now. The Dreamcast version was considered the best console version and was used in tournaments as the standard. The PS2 and XBOX versions had changes made to them which made them different (worse) than the arcade version. Don't spread bullshit.

The Dreamcast had the best controller ever for fighting games. Controllers now may be more technological but don't live up to its predecessor Dreamcast's.

I agree!! I used to play this game with my dad ALL the time and over the years I’ve forgotten about it. But I’ve found it again and I’ve been DYING to play it but all I have is a ps4 and I don’t think this game works on it. This game was pretty much my childhood haha
