Alright, so here's a (very long) explanation of how to reach both the Rat boss and the Advanced Dragun. Read at your own risk: SPOILERS AHEAD In order to get to the Rat boss you have to first buy or steal the Gnawed Key in the shop of the second floor. Paying money for it will reduce the price permanently, this way you can lower the prize to 115 casings over multiple runs which is barely enough so you can get it on almost every run. Then you need to find a trap door on the 3rd floor. It will spawn in a random room with enemies in it and there will be small rats running around in this room too. To find the trap door, walk all over the room and pay attention to the dust your steps create. If the cloud of dust is bigger than usual then that's where the door is. Walk back and forth on that spot and it will become visible. Now you need one normal key or another way to open the lock (like Drill, Lockpicks or A-Key 47). Once you go inside you'll see a long corridor. Go all the way to the end and use a blank. This will open a secret wall. At the end of the opened passage, use another blank. Behind this second opened wall you will see a sewer-like floor gate which requires the Gnawed Key. Jumping in will bring you to the Rat's maze. Now, how to navigate the maze? You may have noticed that the Rat sometimes steals the contents of chests and replaces them with notes. He will do this a total of 6 times and leave a different note every time. The notes will be recorded in the items section of your Ammonomicon. Every note has an image of a piece of cheese on it that points in a certain direction. These directions are the ones you have to go in the maze. The order of the notes is (in the Ammonomicon) from top to bottom and left to right as you'd expect. If you follow these directions (which are different for every player) then you will reach the Rat's room. Beating the Rat is a prerequisite for being able to consistently fight the Advanced Dragun. Make sure to do well in the last phase of the Rat fight because you need two of the special keys he can drop for this. Use a blank in the room with the four big chests. This will open a secret passage where you have to use the two keys to open a cage. In the cage is a sleeping baby Dragun. To make it wake up, feed it 4 items or guns by dropping them next to it. From this point on it will follow you. Take it to the Dragun and he will transform once his heart is revealed. Good luck.
That's the item you unlock for defeating this boss. I've gotten the Holey Grail only once on a run so far so I'm not 100% sure what it does but the description says something along the lines of: "Triggers blank upon taking damage and refills ammo"

There is no worse feeling than finally beating the rat, getting this far with tons of health, guns, and armor, then after finally beating the dragun, he grabs the baby dragun and devours it, before going fucking super Saiyan and just completely destroying you, it legitimately hurts when you get the Advanced dragun to an inch of healthy then die
I luv dragons and dont really vibe about kill it or harm it in any way as game mechanic, but...Dragun is a dragon-gun with guns. Its like...mostiest manly things in world. Imagine If he hold Uzi in left paw, and beer in other hand 100% man's say HELL YEAH!!!

How did you get to this point? I am currently trying to figure out everything off this update. How do you reach an "advanced" boss? Also in the resourcefull rat floor i keep getting pushed to a door to the 4th floor. Have any idea what i am doing wrong?
The short and less spoilery explanation: In order to find the way through the Rat's maze you have to look at the Infuriating Notes in your Ammonomicon. You need 6 of them in total. Examine them and you will find out where to go. The Advanced Dragun can be fought if you've defeated the Rat on your run (or if you rely on rng to give you a specific item drop). There is a hidden room after the Rat fight in which you can find the thing that will make the Dragun transform. For a more detailed and spoilery explanation, look at the other comment I made.
Index 154 you can use the egg item you get for entering the rats lair and hatch it in fire to make the dragon to cause the extra phase, it’s cheap and once unlocked can be bought outside of the lair and used without having to kill the rat
I could've beat him first try but then my gun (which when fully charged, shoots 2 projectiles and if they both connect, does a blank effect, if I remember the name I'll edit this) which is obivously very helpful, but for the last 20% or so of his health, that effect stopped working for some reason 🤔🤨 So it threw me off and I got hit like 5 times in a minute and then died 🫡 Idk if for some reason that effect just stops for his last 20% of health or what. Seems very random for them to do that and not likely. I just got screwed over though, big time.
just as an example I had a run where I had no money at the start of floor 3, and by the end of floor 5 I had 1201, and that was with me buying everything I could that was useful
the thing is that I was just naturally using the weapon. yea, I guess I shouldn't have used it on bosses or gotten ghost bullets, but most of my money was not even from the bosses. it was just me using it on enemies

Well. guess who just got to the pilots past, got the HM absolution down to the amount of hp the dragun has when he gots into his second form. Took 3 dmg from the homing rockets because they got behind me and I couldn’t see em. Then died. It felt like a huge punch in the stomach.
For the second time, I had made it to the dragun, I had 3 full hearts left and a modest arsenal, the super space turtle and the baby mimic, I had finally unlocked the robot seconds before, can you tell me why the fuck the doors wouldn’t goddamn open? I shit you not, they just stood there, and I couldn’t do shit, I couldn’t use the button, or anything, I had to close the fucking game, after *hours* of gameplay, from the second floor forward with my ass clenched getting the television to the blacksmith, so fucking close, yet the door wouldn’t open, please, please tell what I did wrong, if I was supposed to drop a certain item or something, or of the switch version just goddamn glitched, because I might not have won, but I AT LEAST WANTED TO TRY! My only question about this boss comes down if you're still able to get the Obsidian Shell Casing when it dies; if there's another bone that drops this when destroyed, then there's no reason to fight it other than the single unlock you get or needlessly challenging yourself.
I don't think it still drops the obsidian shell casing. The only real reason to fight it is to get the unlock but it is a pretty fun fight so I personally want to do it whenever I get the chance to.
