Fabulous news re adidas and SF. I’m pleased they are branching away to other runners to support. You deserve it. London is incredible, just the best experience.
Been waiting for this since seeing your name ahead of Nick Bester on his video... 😉 Congrats on the PB! Possible the GPS didn't understand that tight turn around the bandstand...
Good luck for the marathon! Sub 2:20 hopefully - secretly hoping you don't shift to marathon all the time as i enjoy watching training for shorter races.
Congratulations, Cole, a PB is a PB, even if you are a bit disappointed, it shows there is the promise of faster times to come. You would have to think, despite the course being fast, and the track sections,, that the hairpin and other bends and constrictions cost a few seconds per lap at least.
@@ColeRunning watching Nick Bester's first person videp of the course, showed how tough it was in places, eg. leaving the track, quite a narrowing there, and a swerve. And at the paces you are both running at, any rapid change in direction takes more energy out of you. (Momentum = mass x velocity)
Amazing PB Cole 🙌 How is the gloop (bi-carb) helping with the hard efforts 🤔 Great news on the sponsorship and hope Alex Yee and yourself go head to head 💪 Exciting times ahead 🥳
Essentially what @joakim said! Haha I’m not a ‘sponsored athlete’ and Alex will be miles down the road. They’re sponsoring content & the channel, which is cool! But I cannot call myself a sponsored athlete… (yet 😉)
Sub 2:20 then. A tough goal, especially as it’ll be your first. Good luck! By the way, unless you’ve got one of the recent multiband watches, Battersea Park is known for being cr4p for gps. I had no idea what pace I was doing with either my old fenix 5 or my Garmin 745!
Congratulations on the PB! 🎉 Will you still be racing as a Championship entry at London and does that require you to wear your club vest? Looking forward to seeing your build as I'm running Manchester for my first marathon the same day 🤞🏻
A calibrated Stryd footpod, would definitely help with areas with dodgy GPS, like Battersea. I did a Battersea 10k, which came out at 10.04 km, which probably was the distance I ran, given I would not have taken the perfect racing line, but even if you say I ran the perfect line, then that's 99.6% accuracy. I consistently get similar levels of accuracy with other races, and you get power based metrics, as a bonus, and the Stryd gives an accurate and instantaneous pace measurement, as well, and it works where there is no GPS at all, as on the treadmill, or under tunnels, as in the Big Half.
Yeah possibly! On most races it won’t affect me too much as they have mostly accurate mile/km markers, but Battersea with no markers is a recipe for disaster! Thanks tho!
@@ColeRunning if you find yourself 10 seconds behind at a marker, then it may already be too late to do anything about it, given the fine margins of running on the red line. If I was you I would contact Stryd, to see if they will send you one (or two) for a trial period, and given your level, your success as an influencer and huge potential as a runner, you could possibly go on to be one of their ambassadors. Trust me, when I say the Stryd hardware is amazing, and is hugely reliable and consistent, and the software side is pretty good as well. It will not necessarily be a game changer for you, but Stryd will help when it comes to the odd race where GPS is an issue.
I had about 25 mins to go on this occasion, enough time for a 90 second ‘primer’, a loo break, final fueling, strides & drills, de-layering and on the start line with a couple mins to spare!
E.g. Kelvin Kiptum (rest his soul) smashing the world record so young plus so many others . Marathons are for whoever wants to do them, and is prepared to train accordingly
Solid running and certainly in some fine form! 💪🏻 keep it coming! 🙌🏻
Thanks mate! 👊🏻

Great to grab a 5k PB with 2 days notice and carrying all the excesses from Christmas. Have a great London build up. Exciting times.
Thanks James!
Good luck for the marathon! Sub 2:20 hopefully - secretly hoping you don't shift to marathon all the time as i enjoy watching training for shorter races.
Haha thanks Zak, nah I won’t beshifting over to the marathon just yet
Well done Cole 🤩
Thank you! :)
Amazing PB time, Cole! =D
Thanks Mike!
Well deserved
Great run Cole. Can't bring myself to try the bi carb gel. You looked like you were enjoying it. 😂
I have just started with the cordyceps though.
I definitely do not enjoy it, but anything (legal) to get that extra 1%!

Possibly, I hope so! Thanks Martin!

It neutralize the acid that builds up when the lactate increase during intense efforts, easily explained. Makes you tolerate a hard effort for longer.

Thanks buddy, you too!

Congratulations 🎉 London marathon is going to be great.
Thanks leeroy!

Yes that’s the plan, I’ll be in TAC colours come race day 👊🏻
Good luck for Manchester!

@@ColeRunning I hate to say it, but markers can inaccurately placed, as well.
Nice one. And super XC season. Coach = Mark Hookway?
Haha mark is a fantastic coach, but no, I’m going even closer to home (by actual distance haha)
@@ColeRunning Mike Gratton!
@@thestreakpodcast haha nice guess, but no. Thanks for playing ;)
Warm up finished with 30 mins to go? As a running coach I'd say that's a really long time to wait post warm up mate. Awesome run regardless
I had about 25 mins to go on this occasion, enough time for a 90 second ‘primer’, a loo break, final fueling, strides & drills, de-layering and on the start line with a couple mins to spare!
And a 14:20 5k split!
Course was long on many peoples watches
GPS is dodgy in Battersea.
Yeah unfortunately the GPS in Battersea isn’t great, plus going round a track is always dodgy!
Does this make you a pro athlete then? 👀
CMONN COLE
Haha no definitely not, just a runner who makes some content with brands occasionally :)
Well done Cole! DC?
No sir! Thanks for playing 🤓
Nice work! What’s your go-to Starbucks order?
Pre-race: white or black americano
Any other time: caramel cappuccino (sorry I know I’m sorry)
A PB is a PB mate. I already saw you in Nick Bester's video. Maybe I watch too much RUclips.
I predict your new coach to be Nick btw.
Haha maybe you do haha, it’s not Nick, but good guess I like this game
Wear a gopro please
Haha I’ll try, the most important thing is to be focused on the day about the race, not the GoPro haha
marathons are for 30-year-olds not youngsters
E.g. Kelvin Kiptum (rest his soul) smashing the world record so young plus so many others . Marathons are for whoever wants to do them, and is prepared to train accordingly
RIP
Didn’t mean it like that buddy, absolutely no disrespect to Kelvin Kiptum
@@ColeRunning I know mate fair play, thanks for editing your comment, will remove mine. Congrats on a belting PB
