Cleaning the crock pot need not be a chore - let is soak with some hot water to which baking soda has been added. I add it by eye, probably a quarter cup. It softens whatever hardened, cooked on food is in it. Rinse well. It's also a great abrasive, scrubbing product. Scrubs without scratching.

Appreciate the tips on low heat cooking. I too have to eat TONS of beef daily and frying up pounds of it takes for ever! I’m switching to my slow cooker
Teehee same! Of all of the bad things in this world..war, famine, neighborhood shootings, Walmart shootings, car crashes, etc. If plastic is the one thing that gets me then I don’t know what to say. Though I am the person who will drink straight out of the tapwater just to make sure I have a little bit of immunity in my life. I don’t believe in a life that is so sterile that we have to live in a bubble in order to survive.
When you cook 80/20 or any other combination of ground beef to fat, you are actually cooking the fat and juices out of the beef, which means it's no longer 80/20 or whatever it was when you started. I actually don't add water, as the ground beef has plenty of moisture and I don't want to dilute the natural flavor. In fact, if anything, I add one stick of butter to my ground beef for even more fat. Then, after the ground beef is cooked, I save some of your rendered fat and juice to add to the ground beef the next time I do another batch instead of adding butter. Note; If you season the ground beef before cooking and save the juice and fat to add to the next batch of ground beef, it will keep getting more and more flavourful the longer you keep recycling it. I learned that trick in a gourmet restaurant. I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong, I'm just putting a suggestion out there should someone be looking for a different way. Keep up the good work.
That is an amazingly delicious sounding trick, thank you for sharing! I love tips and tricks, that's my fave thing about my comment section, you all teach me so much!
Thank you for teaching me how to do this. It has made my life so much easier since I have to cook seven pounds of meat every week for my dog plus whatever ground meat for myself. 🤗🥰
@@terrileistThe less energy I have to spend on something the better. It may take longer but if it's easier then it's worth it. It’s all about energy management 🤗🥰
I did, until my stall. I truly believe that if I had been willing to lower my meat intake during my stalls, by 1-1 1/2 ounces per meal I would have broken my stall, I still believe the amount of calories I ate along with the carb and type of food had a huge impact on my weight loss. I didn’t know it at the time, but looking back, had I tried 14 ounces both meals the stall would have ended and loss restarted.
Ive never had any problem cleaning the pot whether i wash by hand or put it in the dishwasher. Definitely would never use plastic liner. Having to constantly stir kind of defeats the purpose of using a slow cooker.
Yessss it’s the only way I’ve been able to make this something I can maintain for 4 years. I don’t need major variety but I for sure need some, and seasonings, cheeses, and sauces is the easiest way for me to do it
Thanks for sharing! Like you, I started with keto, and eventually switched to low-carb -- it just seems to be more tolerable, as a lifestyle diet. I'm a little concerned with your apparently avoiding fat. Given the dish, I strain accordingly, but I don't outright avoid it. As long as you understand that dietary fat is not the cause of obesity, for most of us, you do your thing. Thanks, again!
Thank you very much. I definitely appreciate and understand the value of fat. For a long time I was eating 73% ground beef but I wanted to tweak things a little bit so I’m trying 80 and 85% ground beef but like you said, I definitely do not think that it is evil, but I think too much of it for someone like me who has an impulse control problem I have to watch my calories Have a wonderful day and thank you for watching
To loosen cooked-on food, either/and/or fill the pot (crock) with water and boil -- or if very stubborn, cover cooked-on places (usually bottom) with vinegar and boil. Works like a charm and then you will not have issues with maybe/maybe not-plastic.
First kudos to you on your weight and health journey. You mentioned in a reply about calories, forget about calories, it’s about the fat intake. Maybe experiment with OMAD, or leaving the fat in the meat, that’s what the body wants, not the dog. And you’re right in the fact that everybody’s metabolism is different and everyone has a different approach to the same outcome. BTW-get the hell away from the plastic!!!! Have a great day 👍
Isn’t that old saw, “calories in, calories out” rubbish? And, how about, “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”? I haven’t had breakfast in 3 or 4 years.
It seems to be individual. I lost 64 pounds in my 22 months of carnivore and the last 7 months I stalled. After I started counting calories is when I lost 94 pounds. I have a broken full and hunger meter. Some people can earn when hungry and stop when satiated. That doesn’t work for me. I will eat until I am sick and eat more. So, for me, I had to control what I was eating. Sure some people can eat what they want and do fine. When I was omad my hair started falling out, and I didn’t do well. Yet you are thriving with omad. Again, we are each in social humans and our bodies have gone through different unique things. So what works for me might not work for you, and vice versa. I’ll stick to my plastic liners, thanks though!
I'm struggling atm to get onto a keto diet as I am still young and live with my parents who are pescatarian, which is fine (salmon is great) but I want to have lots of ground beef and ribeye steak. A crock pot seems like my only option (with my mini fridge). I also want to lift heavy and improve my barbell squat, especially while I am so young. Congrats on losing all the weight! Amazing!
Corning Ware crock pots from back in the day can be cleaned. I have thrown so many crocks away because they couldn’t be cleaned. Pyro ceram is what I believe it’s called that they are made of. Nice and cleanable.
This is specifically for crockpots Joseph thank you for pointing that out. I get a kick out of it when people freak out about them, but I let them have their opinion it gives me a nice little chuckle. Have a great weekend.
It is softer. It’s similar to boiling the meat, if I want that seared crispy ground meet texture after I’ve crock potted it, I will cook it in a skillet to kind of like dehydrate it. That’s how I make my riced chicken that I use instead of rice!
@countrygal3688 here ya go! I’ll just shoot it to ya, it’s pretty easy and my coworkers said it tasted really good to them and like rice ruclips.net/video/sNZktH34JWY/видео.htmlsi=pNd3DGvpzF5dKlMO
Terri, I'm stuck not dropping. I think it's because I'm not eating enough fats being they say keto is 70% fat intake per day. I was doing a 1000 calories a day at 20 to 30 net carb intake . Protein is about 120g Did you ever use MCT oil to get fat in ? Also do you ever do fasting like eating within a 4 hour window or 6 hour window only ??? My one body eats one big meal of keto a day only
I have told you before that I really think you need someone more into the science. I cannot advise you because I just ate and it happened for me. You should contact Kim howerton or Dr Berry. They both have groups and really would be better. I am a nurse and cannot advise anyone, it will affect my license. I o may know how I ate. I’m sorry, I just don’t know how to advise you. Sounds like you’re doing ok maybe?
Hey Terri, do you find the ground beef to be more tender doing it in the crockpot rather frying it, or you just like the convenience of it? I really wanna try this way, it just appears to me that it’ll be more tender in crockpot which is what I wanna try. ❤ thanks for the ideas as always.
It’s more like boiling it, so the texture is not at all the same as the skillet. Skillet is more dry, like a seared steak, but crock pot is like boiled. I honestly love the convenience of it. I prefer less manual labor in the kitchen lol
@@terrileist Hi Terry, please think about not cooking your crockpot food in those toxic plastic bags. It does not take much to clean a crock pot without them. Those bags are full of chemicals that are getting into your food and getting into your body. see Dr Mindy pelz vids on chemical overload.
I do this in a Dutch oven on the stove top. Even with 93% it comes out great. Pop it in and put the lid on and come back to break it up and stir every few minutes. The moisture retained with keeping it covered there does the same as the crock only faster. L
Do you eat anything else every day besides 7oz of ground beef, fat strained? Thank you so much in advance, I appreciate so much your sharing your journey!!
I eat 7oz pork, I think I brought 8 or 9 ounces thanksgiving turkey to moms to eat. I like chicken but I get super hungry pretty fast so I have to really dress it up if I’m going to eat chicken. I dislike fish so I don’t eat it. I’m sure people do awesome with other meats, I personally feel full and satiated longer with beef.
Thank you! Keep me posted, I am excited to hear your personal results. Remember I’m in maintenance mode, so if I needed to lose,?id probably need to drop to 18 or 16 ounces per day.
For me, it’s just the dogs that get the fat. For some people I follow they use the fat in their cooking. I have about 8-9 jars of tallow and 2-3 jars of lard so I don’t need to use that fat for cooking yet
Just a heads up the plastic being heated with your food can cause estrogen dominance and cause weight gain. Great job on your weight loss so far 🥰 If you need more info you can research endocrine disruptors
I have a container of the doggy fat bomb treats in my freezer right now. Winston eats them like a little popsicle...licks them and scoots them all over the floor then eats them HA!
lol. That pretty much describes me and the random things I do. I also do my ground chicken this way and when I want to have ‘rice’ I cook it in a skillet to dry it out and it works like carnivore riced chicken!
I don’t remember where I got mine, but here is one on Amazon. That looks just like mine. amzn.to/41eC93Y Let me know if this is not the tool you’re talking about
Hi Terri! I truly appreciate you & your help. I feel that you’re “real”…. So I need advice please. I am really trying hard again (keto/carnivore). I lost a pound one day. Then another the next. Then gained 5 the next! Oh My Gosh! ! Do you remember something crazy like that? I am not weighing or measuring the food, just me. Basically I’m eating beef & eggs. I’ve added an avocado & berries. Please help. (Oh, I’ve had covid for 2 weeks & I am not leaving the house or exercising)
My opinion is this, remember I’m not a doctor lol, but our body will decide how it needs to use the nutrition we put inside. Sometimes our body will say, hey, things are groovy so let’s release some fat. Sometimes though, there are things going on inside our body that we can’t see-Inflammation, sickness, covid, cold, etc. while mentally WE want to see the scale move, our body says, let’s use these calories to heal this issue first, THEN we can return to shedding pounds. My OPINION is that when we heal our body sends our healing soldiers to the bad places and we may retain some fluids because there is inflammation. Where there is healing there is inflammation. So as we heal we retain fluids. Once the healing is done, our body will say-ok, that’s done, let’s go back to releasing the excess water and release some fat from our fat cells. I had weeks of losing and weeks of gaining and weeks of maintaining. I ate the same but my body decided how it would spend those calories. When you eat the same every day and you see your scale going up and down for ‘no reason’ you have to trust your body and know that it has to heal all the things that are wrong first. Then it will let you lose weight. Stay the course and remember it’s not a day today scale we look at. We look at the trends. Pick a day and check weekly, and write it down. If it’s going up every week for 4-6 weeks, write down what you’re eating and see what you might need to change. If it’s trending down 2, then 0, then up 1, then down 1, then 0, then down 1 then up 2-then you’ll know if you’re eating the same foods that your body is working on healing and you have to be patient. I hope that all makes sense. Your hormones will change day to day so you can’t looks at the scale and see what you gain and lose from one day to the next, that’s literally just a snapshot of your hormones that day.
@@terrileist thank you thank you thank you! You’re right of course. I appreciate all you wrote! I’m just sick & stuck at home & my body needs to heal. You’re right. Thank you! God bless!! I wish I could stop the crazy night cravings. They cause me to cheat. I tried having pork rinds around last night, just in case. I figured they were still carnivore. Ha ha. Love ya girl!💙😇🙏
If you’re going to have an off plan snack, keep it carnivore, it might not be the best but you’ll be able to hold your head up high and know you didn’t go off track with something bad. Stay strong and stay the course
@carolferguson it is not easy staying on track but if you know that there are times that are harder than others it’s always good to have something around to help you as a crutch item whether it’s pork rinds or cucumber chips or zucchini chips chips and you dip that in some Greek yogurt whatever you need to do that helps. Keep you on track that’s what’s important
Hi Terri, watching this I am wondering how you know what the calorie count for the meat is after most of the fat is rendered away? If I understand it right, the calorie count on the package includes the fat. Thank you!
Truth be told, i don't really know. I plug it in as what it says it is, and then use that number. If the scale moves down, i know i have an amount I can use to lose, and if the scale doesn't move, i know i should lower the ounces by 1, then see if it changes. I know I'm not getting all of the fat, but also, i know i'm weighing after it's cooked, and they weigh it before it's cooked. So i kinda figure it balances out. The part they add to the nutrition amounts is cooked out, while the part I'm adding in, was the part that was added from the part that was cooked out of another amount. I hope that makes sense??? it does in my head ha!
Wow wow good for you lady 👍👍I don’t need to loose but low low carb helps with my diabetes and I wish I had your will power not to eat carbs and sweets ! But I get horrible craving for sweet and there I go 😢😢😢
Those cravings are horrible. I ate off plan yesterday and I’m hating life today. Grouchy, anxious, shaky, mean, so I’m drinking as much water as I can to flush it out faster
For me-it’s a calorie thing. I feel just as good without the fat as I did with the fat. I also eat in bulk so in order to eat the amount of food I want and not go way over with calories I need to omit the fat. Also, for me-I wanted to burn the fat on my body by running on the fat I wanted to get rid of. I can’t say it’s scientific, but if I ate fat and my body is in ketosis and burning fat-I didn’t want it to do like it does when we are running on the carbs we eat, I wanted it to run on my body fat not the food fat. I hope that makes sense??? It does in my head lol
@@terrileist @terrileist "Eating high-fat foods, in contrast to protein-heavy foods, is more likely to lead to ketosis - the process of burning fat for fuel instead of carbs, which can lead to rapid weight loss in the short term. Eating foods high in fat can also make a person feel full." Fatherly “Here we’ll offer a list of issues to either rule out or address that will help you achieve your carnivore diet weight The carnivore diet is, by default, a high-fat, low-carb diet. This is because your body can only get about 35% of its calories from protein without encountering symptoms of protein poisoning. When you cut carbs on carnivore you’ll need to get nearly 100% of your calories from a combination of protein and fat. This means that you’ll need to get at least 65% of your calories from fat. On a low-carb diet, when you eat too much protein and not enough fat, your body turns the protein into blood sugar through a process called gluconeogenesis. This process interferes with fat metabolism, which can, in turn, limit weight loss.” - Dr Kiltz
Protein turns into carbs at a slower rate than carbs. Fat turns into carbs at a slower rate than protein. Fat does fill you up for a long time. Some people have had trouble losing weight without eating the fat as well as some have had trouble getting pregnant without the fat.
I need to figure out a way to enjoy the taste of ground beef. I love a good burger with all the fixins, but that's a lot of carbs. Love tacos with all the fixins, but again, a lot of carbs. Overcoming my addiction to carbs might be easier if I liked the foods that replace the carbs. 😢
My experience is the taste for carbs resides after a while on carnivore. The meat starts tasting better and better to me. Variations in baking and structure can be made instead. I do not try to replace instead I keep omitting more and more. 😀
It’s carb addiction telling you this… my mindset was anything for one week, nothing taste as good as thin and having energy feels. All my aches and pains gone too. To get rid of my cravings and to start getting used to eating meat (previously vegetarian), I went carnivore, one week turned into 30-days. I feel great, no more cravings and I actually crave meat taste now, could of never imagined it myself. Best Wishes ❤️
Maybe so, but I can do so many things while I’m cooking 10lbs of ground beef. I used to do it over the stove, but the amount of time I have to do other things now, is amazing 🤩🥰
Hello! I did 2 months keto first, and lost 26lbs. Then I heard about carnivore and as someone who hated to cook daily, I was on board! I did 22 months and lost 64lbs. The last 7 months of those 22 months I stalled. At that time no one would talk about calories or lower fat or anything like that in the carnivore community. I just saw a video of Kelly Hogan last week where she’s starting to realize some people have different needs. Had someone said, maybe instead of 2lbs of beef per day, try 1 3/4 lbs, then I might still be carnivore, but it was VERY frowned upon to restrict, so that’s when I left and changed to Keto with calorie counting and lost the final 90lbs.
Someone already mentioned in the comments about the dangers of using plastic in any way associated with your food and water. Please, stop using the plastic! It will affect your health. After I'm finished cooking in my crock pot or stock pot, and the food is removed I add water and bring it to a simmer and then let it sit. It's very easy to clean doing that.
I,m sorry but i am strict carnivore and i never eat meat from Walmart and i never buy hamburger, I BUY CHUCK POT ROASTS AND HAVE MEAT COUNTER GRIND IT ONCE SO IT IS NOT SMALL. A pot roast is way better tasting then hamburger. Hamburger is normally different beef trimmings ground up . The pot roast ground up is about 20% fat. Good for me... Make it into 5.oz patties for freezer. Thankyou. 😊😊😊
No disrespect, but why don't you do the first part in a saucepan over the hob instead of going back to it every hour? This would only take a few minutes. Doing the first stage is time-consuming.
It’s the easiest way for me to cook 10lbs all at the same time. I can chop it once an hour and then not be near it or watch it for another hour. I can be off doing other things-crocheting, painting, and not standing by the stove for 1-2 hours. It’s all relative to how we want to do it 🤩
I think different people have different needs. When these doctors are talking, including Dr Berry they are speaking about the general person, they person without addiction to being full, the person who can eat a small amount of food and get full, the person who is ‘average’ can lose weight with their methods. I was on carnivore and added all the fats, but it didn’t help me lose weight after I lost 64lbs. I stalled 7 months. By adding all the fats. I changed to keto and more lean to moderate fat and the weight started coming off again. As far as health-I literally feel no different when I added the fat vs now and no changes in my lab work. The problem with listening to everyone online is that they are talking in general terms and don’t focus on the small group that have different needs. I have different needs so I had to follow my own set of rules. Also, watch Kelly Hogans new video she discusses this also
I do low on the crock pot, that way they don’t cook too fast. In the past I have done high for the first 45 minutes just to give them some oomph to cook a little faster. I have also cooked them all the way on high, and it’s faster, but it seems like they get dryer
New subscriber. 😮the plastic 😢 😢😢 will catch up with you, love...take the time and soak the crock, your health will thank you 😊 🙏 's. ??? Do you freeze the cooked beef? Thanks
I do freeze the beef. I keep a 4 day rotation in my fridge and when I make my lunch for then day I will pull out a lunch and supper and put it in the back. By day 4 that meal is in the front and ready for me to eat!
@@terrileist thank you for helping. I need to start carnivore and get sugar; wheat; dairy and carbs in general out of my system and I fail to do it in a way that can keep in the diet. I get saturated too soon and I start avoiding to eat. Tallow is hard for me tolerate and at the same time I don’t want to rely too much on butter cause I can tolerate kefir but cheese makes me feel I’m dying. I’m all over the place regarding how to take on this journey and keep me in for the long run. Thanks so much for helping ❤️
You know, even if you don’t dive into carnivore at first, maybe you can do a meat heavy diet with meat and veggies and fruit for a couple months. Then you can try to wean off the fruit. Then maybe wean off the veggies. That way you’re not overwhelmed with things at first. Just eat whole meats, whole veggies, and even frozen or raw fruit. Just a random thought
I was carnivore 22 months and felt great. I had lost 26lbs 2 months before carnivore, and in 22 months carnivore I lost 64lbs. The last 7 of those 22 months I was stalled. The people in the Facebook groups that I was in kept saying they ate about 2lbs of meat per day and they don’t recommend anyone count calories or lower their portions. I fell into Kim Howerton channel and she was dear friends with Dr Berry and had lost weight with keto and counting calories. I decided to give that a try. I was desperate after 7 months of no scale movement. When I changed over the scale moves. I was afraid of feeling bad like many who were carnivore said they had experienced when eating vegetables, but I never felt bad. So for me, it felt the same and I didn’t have any triggers or new health issues
I use plastic all the time, it’s made for cooking. I drank from a rusty garden hose. If this is what kills me…then I’ll just accept it. As lot lifting the lid every hour…it works, and I’ve been doing it for 3 years. Thanks for watching
Just fill the crockpot with water and soak it for awhile. Water is the greatest solvent and your pot will clean right up. 80/20 will taste better especially if you season it. Remember, a healthy adult can, should consume no more than 21 oz including beverage at each meal. Your stomach is about the size of your fist, we shouldn’t expand it too much. Smaller meals , more water especially as we get older. An associate of mine lost a considerable amount of weight using your method… his meals consisted of the seasoned beef, ketchup, veggies like green beans, carrots, corn, broccoli, mushrooms etc. He kept variety by trying different sauces he would invent his own no sugar sauces or fruit based sauces like plum, fig, apricot, like that but for times sake he would use quality ketchup. I would think this would accomplish your goals but hard to sustain it. Too many delicious foods flying around ….. Very tough to decline. Best wishes.
This ‘keto’ diet was originally created for children who have seizures. Those children needed a very high fat diet. I think some people can do really well with eating high fat, because it helps them stay full for a long time time therefore, they get full and are able to consume fewer were calories. I think this is a very individualized topic. For me because I do not have the ability to feel full and I feel hunger constantly, I could’ve eaten 2 pounds of 73% three times a day. That is too much food. The point of keto, for weight loss, is to burn fat. I had, and still have fat on my body that my body can utilize to burn as energy. In my brain, why add fat from an external source to burn, when I can burn the excess fat on my body? Not the scientific answer-but it’s what my brain thinks. This is a very hot topic among the keto and carnivore world, but we have to remember, everyone is different, and some people may do great with high fat, but some peoples body does better with moderate fat or low fat. It’s truly an individual needs depending on how much each person has messed up our body along the way.
I’m just stepping in here why are people cooking their food and plastic bags? Do you not know the health danger that is just wash the thing out and have a wonderful day. I hope you do your research.
My daughter is handicapped and those crock pot liners save her a lot of work when it comes to clean up. Also the bags you cook turkeys in have been Aron d for ages.
Youre getting rid of wayyyy too much fat.. youre almost at 100-0 ground beef the way you get rid of the fat (and a lot of collagen). .. you should pour the fat back into the individual containers with the ground meat to get it back closer to 80-20. The fat is the most critical part of the whole meal.
If they were wild dogs they would eat whatever was on the animal. They get maybe 1 tbs once a day. They have great health according to the vet. When I was a kid the vet had my mom add a spoon of bacon grease on our poodles food to help her skin and coat.
@@terrileist thanks I am eating a carnivore diet , so my dog eats pretty good . Was concerned I might harm my pooch ! She doesnt eat lots of fat , just bacon and burger. Thanks !!
@@terrileist With my poodles in the past I'd always put some bacon grease in their bowl to mix with the dry food. The vet flipped out about that! I have a new poodle now and from day one, he is a meat eater - whatever I cook (plain meats), that's what he eats. There have been people that sneakily have given him junk food without my knowing. He doesn't trust it! So amazing. He will break the junk food up into bits and leave it all over the carpet/floor. He won't eat it. He treats it like a chew toy. He might tear it up but won't swallow. LOL
I was eating the fat while I was carnivore for 22 months. However, I stalled for eight months eating all of that fat. It was when I went to leaner meat, that I lost over half of my weight. I think for some people eating a lot of fat is great, but for some people who have a whole lot of extra fat on their body, we need to burn the fat on our body instead of adding extra fat for our body to burn an external fat source instead of an internal fat source. Just my opinion, and what has worked for me
Please do some good research. Do not feed your dogs cooked fat. They can eat raw fat but cooked fat is not good for them. Broth is ok if you remove the fat after refrigeration. Fat is actually better for you than for your dogs. Please stop giving them cooked fat!

Congratulations Lisa, please share with us how you've managed to accomplish that kind of weight loss in such a short period.
Appreciate the tips on low heat cooking. I too have to eat TONS of beef daily and frying up pounds of it takes for ever! I’m switching to my slow cooker
You are so welcome! Let me know if it helps!
I like how clean crockpot liners keep my crockpot. Easy clean up!, I could careless what other people think about it!
@@terrileist hehe you gotta wonder, how many of those “liner” critics smoke/drink, etc 😂🤪🐽
Good point! Ha!
So happy for you meeting your goals! Have made it through month 1 and am down 10 lbs
kick butt rty!!!! That's awesome, you're doing great. I know you're feeling happy and know you're on the way to full recovery :)
@@terrileist absolutely! 💯
Nice work Terri! Not an easy battle, but you are winning!
Thank you! It’s a constant focus and I’m excited that I finally understand
Yessss I’m such a minimalist whenever possible. It takes longer than a skillet, but man oh man is it wayyyy easier
@@terrileistThe less energy I have to spend on something the better. It may take longer but if it's easier then it's worth it. It’s all about energy management 🤗🥰
So when you were carnivore and eating 2 meals a day you had 16 ounce each meal did you lose weight with that?
Same! Less energy and time is best for me hehehe
Gotta do what works best for you. Thank you!
💯agree with you @loretta6089
Love the way you prep! That is awesome how you can change up the ground beef meals. :)
Yessss it’s the only way I’ve been able to make this something I can maintain for 4 years. I don’t need major variety but I for sure need some, and seasonings, cheeses, and sauces is the easiest way for me to do it
@@terrileist Sometimes I sprinkle Slap ya mama seasoning on my burgers !

For a long time I was eating 73% ground beef but I wanted to tweak things a little bit so I’m trying 80 and 85% ground beef but like you said, I definitely do not think that it is evil, but I think too much of it for someone like me who has an impulse control problem I have to watch my calories
Have a wonderful day and thank you for watching
Great idea! Never would have thought to use a crockpot to cook up ground beef.
It’s so much more efficient when cooking 10-12lbs of meat. I can chop and leave it for an hour
Same, I have not tried this yet, but I’m going to now 😂
@joycebegnaud9645 let me know what you think!!
@@terrileist oh I sure will, because of health issues, I rely on my crockpot as much as I can 😊
I tried this a few times. It worked great. Especially when I don’t feel like cooking. So, easy!
To loosen cooked-on food, either/and/or fill the pot (crock) with water and boil -- or if very stubborn, cover cooked-on places (usually bottom) with vinegar and boil. Works like a charm and then you will not have issues with maybe/maybe not-plastic.
Thank you for the tips! I appreciate it
First kudos to you on your weight and health journey.
Chicken cooked in baking bag in crockpot its the most delicious moist chicken I havent had for years
Agreed! It’s yummy
Our (south-central KY) Walmart has the 80/20 in ten pound chubs. You might check around wherever you live and see if you can find it.

I'm struggling atm to get onto a keto diet as I am still young and live with my parents who are pescatarian, which is fine (salmon is great) but I want to have lots of ground beef and ribeye steak. That’s great you’d like to improve your health and strength. Congratulations!

If she's using what I use, it's non-BPA NYLON made by Reynolds, specifically for crock pots.
This is specifically for crockpots Joseph thank you for pointing that out. I get a kick out of it when people freak out about them, but I let them have their opinion it gives me a nice little chuckle. Have a great weekend.
Does cooking your ground beef this way, does it have a softer texture then browning it in a skillet? I am going to try it to see.
It is softer. It’s similar to boiling the meat, if I want that seared crispy ground meet texture after I’ve crock potted it, I will cook it in a skillet to kind of like dehydrate it. That’s how I make my riced chicken that I use instead of rice!
@@terrileist riced chicken.....sounds so good. I will be going back to watch your older videos. Thanks.

Hi Terri, I actually use the fat for frying no dogs here. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓
I love how you do that! When I in out of my jars of tallow, I’m going to give that a try, thank you so much for reaching that to me
Best masher tool ever, right?!?
Yesss I love it!!!
Terri, I'm stuck not dropping.
I think it's because I'm not eating enough fats being they say keto is 70% fat intake per day.
I was doing a 1000 calories a day at 20 to 30 net carb intake . Protein is about 120g
Did you ever use MCT oil to get fat in ?
Awesome! So anyways to make it! Thank you for sharing
@@terrileist do you eat 7oz or 14oz per day? I also have had to count calories to achieve my goals! Thank you again!!
@freegirl5422 I eat 7 ounces at lunch and 7 ounces at supper. I just started eating 6 ounces of 85% at breakfast to help stick to my ribs longer.

Fantastic journey to better health! Kudos. I'm curious, is it only your dog that gets the fat? Do you consume the fat yourself?
For me, it’s just the dogs that get the fat. For some people I follow they use the fat in their cooking. I have about 8-9 jars of tallow and 2-3 jars of lard so I don’t need to use that fat for cooking yet

@@terrileist ok. Thank you. I bought pork rinds today for just that
@carolferguson it is not easy staying on track but if you know that there are times that are harder than others it’s always good to have something around to help you as a crutch item whether it’s pork rinds or cucumber chips or zucchini chips chips and you dip that in some Greek yogurt whatever you need to do that helps.
Boiling your beef? That is crazy. Loses all its flavor. Any fat that renders off when I fry my beef I use to make eggs and fried vegetables.
Ha! We all have our own way of doing things. I love that you have found a method that works for you. Have a great day
Wow wow good for you lady 👍👍I don’t need to loose but low low carb helps with my diabetes and I wish I had your will power not to eat carbs and sweets ! But I get horrible craving for sweet and there I go 😢😢😢
Those cravings are horrible. I ate off plan yesterday and I’m hating life today. Grouchy, anxious, shaky, mean, so I’m drinking as much water as I can to flush it out faster
fyi - vet told me not to give fat to my dog that it causes pancreatitis. this is a great idea. I can and this would be easier than sautéing it
Thank you for sharing. I’m all about what method is easier 🥰🤩
Just wondering why you no longer eat the fat with the beef? I've been carnivore 4.5 months.
Eating foods high in fat can also make a person feel full." Fatherly
“Here we’ll offer a list of issues to either rule out or address that will help you achieve your carnivore diet weight The carnivore diet is, by default, a high-fat, low-carb diet.
This process interferes with fat metabolism, which can, in turn, limit weight loss.”
- Dr Kiltz
Protein turns into carbs at a slower rate than carbs. Fat turns into carbs at a slower rate than protein. Fat does fill you up for a long time. Some people have had trouble losing weight without eating the fat as well as some have had trouble getting pregnant without the fat.
I need to figure out a way to enjoy the taste of ground beef. I love a good burger with all the fixins, but that's a lot of carbs. Love tacos with all the fixins, but again, a lot of carbs. Overcoming my addiction to carbs might be easier if I liked the foods that replace the carbs. 😢
It’s not an easy transition, but I sure used the heck outta seasonings and cheeses to help me get the flavor I was looking for
My experience is the taste for carbs resides after a while on carnivore. The meat starts tasting better and better to me. Variations in baking and structure can be made instead. I do not try to replace instead I keep omitting more and more. 😀
Can you do the lettuce burger?
@macairhead5137 hat would be tasty
It seems like a lot of electricity used for something that could be done in minutes on the stovetop.
Maybe so, but I can do so many things while I’m cooking 10lbs of ground beef. I used to do it over the stove, but the amount of time I have to do other things now, is amazing 🤩🥰
How did the 22 months of carnivores work for you?
💜
🤩🥰
Steel wool cleans the crockpot easily.
Preach it sister. Love my steel wool 🥰🤩
Do you cook this on low or high?
I cook it on low and it’s about 3 1/2-4 hours 🤩
Someone already mentioned in the comments about the dangers of using plastic in any way associated with your food and water. Please, stop using the plastic! It will affect your health. After I'm finished cooking in my crock pot or stock pot, and the food is removed I add water and bring it to a simmer and then let it sit. It's very easy to clean doing that.
I,m sorry but i am strict carnivore and i never eat meat from Walmart and i never buy hamburger,
I BUY CHUCK POT ROASTS AND HAVE MEAT COUNTER GRIND IT ONCE SO IT IS NOT SMALL.
A pot roast is way better tasting then hamburger.
Hamburger is normally different beef trimmings ground up .
The pot roast ground up is about 20% fat. Good for me... Make it into 5.oz patties for freezer. Thankyou. 😊😊😊
Great!
It’s all relative to how we want to do it 🤩
Why do you take out the fat. Dr. Elisabeth bright talks how important fat is
I think different people have different needs.
Also, watch Kelly Hogans new video she discusses this also
Awesome!
Thank you!
I see no reason for the bags
Ok!
You are cooking your food in plastic????????
Are you heating them on high. ?
I do low on the crock pot, that way they don’t cook too fast. In the past I have done high for the first 45 minutes just to give them some oomph to cook a little faster.
I have also cooked them all the way on high, and it’s faster, but it seems like they get dryer

I do freeze the beef. I keep a 4 day rotation in my fridge and when I make my lunch for then day I will pull out a lunch and supper and put it in the back. By day 4 that meal is in the front and ready for me to eat!
How far those 20 portions can go in your diet?
I eat one portion at lunch and one portion at supper, so it should last me 10 days of lunch and supper
@@terrileist thank you for helping. I need to start carnivore and get sugar; wheat; dairy and carbs in general out of my system and I fail to do it in a way that can keep in the diet.

Bless your heart. I wish you all the best but you do need to get rid of the slow poisonous plastic❤️
Hehehe sorryyyy
Curious as to why you left pure carnivore?
Plastic ! is that even safe , won't it leach into to meat, not supposed to be lifting lid all the time ( according to instructions on my slow cooker )
Thank you very much!
The macro FAT dont add to body fat
It adds calories, which for me matters.
I am confused. Aren't you supposed to eat high fat on Keto? That is our energy, instead of sugar and carbs.
Anyone here follow straight up old school atkins and in maintenence phase now?! I got some questions 😬
I’m just stepping in here why are people cooking their food and plastic bags? Do you not know the health danger that is just wash the thing out and have a wonderful day. I hope you do your research.
Thank you
My daughter is handicapped and those crock pot liners save her a lot of work when it comes to clean up. Also the bags you cook turkeys in have been Aron d for ages.
I agree, and I will keep using them. I get a kick out of the people who comment about how bad they are tehee.
Thank you for watching!
Plastic bags 😳
I will wash my pot and not use plastic.
Low heat or high heat?
Low heat is what I do
Compliments on your awesome weight loss!!!!
Thank you, I appreciate your kind words!
Is that much fat ok for dogs ??
If they were wild dogs they would eat whatever was on the animal. They get maybe 1 tbs once a day. They have great health according to the vet.
When I was a kid the vet had my mom add a spoon of bacon grease on our poodles food to help her skin and coat.
@@terrileist thanks I am eating a carnivore diet , so my dog eats pretty good . Was concerned I might harm my pooch ! She doesnt eat lots of fat , just bacon and burger. Thanks !!
I can’t say if it’s good or bad, but for my crew, the small amount I give them…so far, hasn’t had a bad health impact. So far 🙏🏻
LOL
@librarianlovesrick that is so funny! What a smart dog, they know instinctively what’s healthy for them. Yayyyyy
Plastic is a no no OMG!! Hope you enjoy your meal 😵💫
😉
I do not like the taste of reheated beef.....wish i did
It’s a blessing that I don’t really have major aversions to most food things
You might want to avoid cooking/consuming with plastics/synthetics.
Ok thank you
Easier to cook in fry pan lol
🤣
Micro plastic mixed in. Then you microwave it - removing all nutrients.😮 Microwaving in plastic toooo😱
I know you don't want to clean, but the plastic will hold your progress back
Get rid of the freaking plastic chemicals!
Be careful using plastic bags …
Thank you!!
Youre cooking microplastics in your food
👍
Let's cook our beef in plastic 😂
🤣🤣
If you are doing keto, you should eat the fat and give the lean to the dogs..but congrats on the weight loss
Just my opinion, and what has worked for me
Nice but you really need the fat if doing Carnivore...not so good for dogs.
Thank you!
Please do some good research. Do not feed your dogs cooked fat. They can eat raw fat but cooked fat is not good for them. Broth is ok if you remove the fat after refrigeration. Fat is actually better for you than for your dogs. Please stop giving them cooked fat!
Too long….. almost 6 mins of video browning meat….
🤣🤣
