Both of you are so informative, but I really appreciate your pace. Your videos give all the information you need without becoming boring with banter. I wish more cooking instruction was like yours. You really set the standard.
This is my first time seeing this recipe, but I will probably try it since I think that the caramelized juice will give this dish an interesting texture.
Great recipe! I have never heard of this before, but I think that letting the juices caramelize on top of the dough would make this a unique eating experience. I usually use golden delicious apples when I bake, and I love them. Although I have never used granny smith apples, everyone always says that my apple pie is very good--so I'll probably keep doing what I'm doing. Interesting that the dough was too hard to eat in the past. I have heard that Cornish pasties have a large, thick crust on one side because the miners, whose hands were dirty, would have held the pastry but not eaten that part so as not to contaminate themselves with the dust from the mine. Very interesting how many aspects of recipes have a purpose! 👍
I just made this! It came out perfectly. As a double bonus, the house smells like 🍎🍎🍎heaven! I included one granny smith apple & a dash of nutmeg. Will definitely make again!
Some things are better sloppy and messy👨🏾🍳😋....even though I’m not familiar with this it sounds and looks amazing ... you’re inspiring me to do more desserts on my channel.
I love these types of variants on the fruit-and-carb combo. I wonder how it would work with other fruits? My blackberry bushes are crazy productive! I'd probably try cutting down the stove top cook time, and maybe reduce the liquid a bit as the berries are naturally juicier.
This is a wonderful desert! Sweet but not too sweet. So easy to make. It will go fast and I’m sure you’ll make it again and again. I’m not a Golden Delicious fan but the worked perfectly!
One of the flavors of my youth. Good Humor used to have an Apple Pan dowdy ice cream stick. I can still taste it many decades later. Ben & Jerry, if you're watching!!
Yummy. My grandmother made this for us 60 years ago. But in the days before refrigerators how did they treat the dough? Or maybe that is why the dough was tougher? I cook diced apples in my microwave with some butter, maple syrup and cinnamon and then put it on a wheat tortilla, roll it up and have an apple no pan dowdy. No muss, no fuss.
Thanks so delicious easy way May God bless you both. That’s my dessert tomorrow night I have guess” two priests from Saint Joseph Church here in Montreal , be in touch Until then God bless you both, Thanks wonderful
I enjoyed the series a lot when Chris Kimball was part of the show..Milk Street is not even close to what this show is....They both lost. Even with that said these ladies do a great job and I enjoy it.
These two are utterly fabulous. All the time.
There’s joy in this video, and joy in the way these women work their craft. Kudos, keep up the fantastic work!

This is my first time seeing this recipe, but I will probably try it since I think that the caramelized juice will give this dish an interesting texture.
This looks amazing and I've never tried this before but love flavorful crust especially if crunchy with sugar and spice. I can't wait to make this.

Time to dowdy! Per my dad’s request, I’m making this dessert for my parent’s 65th anniversary dinner. Thanks for a great how-to.
I love apple pandowdy, but haven't had any in several decades. Thanks for this recipe as I'll now have a good recipe to make it myself.

I finally understand using the word “dowdy” in baking! This looks delicious.
I just made this! It came out perfectly. As a double bonus, the house smells like 🍎🍎🍎heaven! I included one granny smith apple & a dash of nutmeg. Will definitely make again!

Good Lord Ladies this looks like a project. Again lol Love these videos
Thank you!
I bet that would be good with peaches too..
I forgot to mention I like the minimal use of sugar the way you did it too.
I’ve heard of it from the old song "Shoo fly pie and apple pandowdy".
This and peach pie is why ice cream was invented.
Thumbs up just for the good singing. And also the good cooking.

I am wondering if I can start in a pan and bake in a nice casserole (oven safe) just for presentation. ?
6 Table spoons of BUTTER!!😱
I've made this and I can't get enough of it. I cheat and buy a pie crust though.
My grandmother made a version of this with bisquick
3:15 Food service film :)

Bridget, sounded just like Dinah Shore - great voice. Alternate career? 🤔
Shoo fly pie
We call that cobbler down here.
Well, with cobbler you don't push the crust into the filling and then bake it some more.
Did she say 2 1/2 oz. of apples ?
2 1/2 pounds of apples
So basically you've just messed up a Tarte Tatin
Just yes.... whatever happened to the older gentleman? I really miss him...
Started a show called Milk Street Cafe. Chris Kimball I'm assuming you're talking about.
Good riddance says I.
He engaged in highly unethical business practices prior to leaving.
Bridgette shows Julia...,
I enjoyed the series a lot when Chris Kimball was part of the show..Milk Street is not even close to what this show is....They both lost. Even with that said these ladies do a great job and I enjoy it.
Who Are Who We Are brought me here.

This is not authentic pandowdy it’s supposed to be flipped
You had me until your choice of apples.
Your loss. It's fabulous.
