- About The Song:
Not a very hard song to play along. There was some issues in transcription. A little hard to notice some notes and positions and live videos were not that clear. I noticed some changes in the way it's played through time. I finally used positions form an 80s live version and added some of my judging to create the line. Hope is correct and easy to play!

I think that actually sounded cooler- you went jazz on it for a second! I never realized he did all those pull offs in this song on the main riff. Cool. The cool thing about Clayton is he makes bass a big part of the U2 sound, even though he was not a great player by any means. This bassline jumps out at you and he is smart enough to keep it very consistent and only riffing it up on the slower parts.

Hi, just wondering if you could explain something. You've tuned down half a step, but you are still using standard tuning for your notes in this video.
Yeah I noticed that too.
Yes, that's something you should apply in order to get things a little easier. When you down tune you transport the instrument, but a C is virtually still a "C" when you notate chords, etc.
Can't we play in normal bass tune EADG because during a live you can't stop to set bass in EbAbDbGb thanks for all the covers

Just transpose the tabs down a fret
Unders if your strings are fairly new it’s pretty easy to do a down tuning if you’re used to it. Just as playing for awhile you don’t need to look at the fretboard as much while you play. Just gotta feel it in ya

that's used for thinking more comfortably on the bass. If you see E written it suits the position where E is, even downtuned

I guess they had to tune according to Bono's voice and still wanted to keep open strings on bass and guitar.

I don't get it, why would you d-tune it, there is no low Eb and such where you would specifically need an open tuned down string. and no harmonics either .

That's the way it's played. Most reasons imply that an entire disc may be down tuned or as set sof songs for a live show, or even the sound is better for the song. All possible explanations

Since this video, I've learned that this is wrong. The actual bass line is played a half step down, not tuned a half step down. Why would anyone even do that?
