Well done few people recognise this is Keith on bass Even fewer recognise this is the bedrock of Happy Mondays and Stone Roses groove Of course it wouldn't be cool to admit that lol In some pics Ian Brown? looks like Keith reincarnated Peace
I can play it ok-just not so fast without screwing it up! Fantastic bass line from probably my fave Stones track ever not surprised it was from Keith Richards, an absolute monster musician and, by all accounts a great guy and fantastic Dad!
Full disclosure: I know jack about bass playing, but I can recognize greatness when I see/hear it. I had no idea the line was played so quickly! Well done, thank you for sharing!
I appreciate Keith’s bass lines. I really enjoyed his bass rendition of Yer Blues! Anyone like the bass line to Dancin’ with Mr. D? Solid bass line by Mick Taylor. Now that would be a good cover!
You can tell it was played by a guitarist because a bassist would never dare to play all those wrong notes ;-) What I mean is that you don't usually play an A over an E major chord. A real bassist would probably have chosen a B. But then it's technically more demanding because you can't use the open string. But Keith takes the easy way out and, what can I say, it sounds great!
Fantastic cover! Whew... I have been planning on learning this, and I have my work cut out😊. Keith just absolutely railed the bass and guitar on Sympathy!
It's been more than 40 minutes in my water still not fully evaporated yet. Could be because I only had two cups of chicken broth so I had to put two cups of water to add maybe that ruined it I'm also gluten-free so I cannot add the better than bouillon
@@infernalsquid Right. I should take a month and just practice picking, but I know that won’t last. Besides, I only play for myself, not gonna play with a band or with others.
Hi there, great playing, but the standard notation needs to be a bit clearer. See bar 20 for an example. You don't indicate where the 3rd beat is - your beaming goes across the beat, and this makes it unclear, especially for sight reading. No downvote from me, just wanted to get in touch.
@@tylermartinez2929 the standard notation itself is frequently not correct rhythmically...for example throughout there are eighth note + 16th note + eighth note figures = 1 beat and that doesn't work without a 16th note rest or a dotted eighth note in there somewhere ...and he could have save himself some courtesy accidentals by writing it out in E
Great Bassline by Keith Richards. Exactly sounds like a bassline a guitar player would write.
Kind of like Old Brown Shoe by the Beatles which features George Harrison on bass

Love and respect to Bill but every time a Stones bass line really knocks me out, it always turns out to be done by Keith, Mick Taylor, or Woody.
@@grimmertwin2148 Surely Keith Richards is Keith Richards reincarnated? ;)
@@stevemercer6976 Exactly. "Emotional Rescue" was Ron Wood on bass.
not easy to play by any stretch of the imagination, this is an iconic bass line..
I can play it ok-just not so fast without screwing it up!

The notes aren’t technically hard it’s just the speed at which they’re played can be tricky to get down
what an absolute beast of a bassline. Great rendition too!
Full disclosure: I know jack about bass playing, but I can recognize greatness when I see/hear it. I had no idea the line was played so quickly! Well done, thank you for sharing!
Beautiful stuff. That is a busy bassline, played urgently yet completely controlled & relaxed
Wasn’t an easy play, my fingers are ruined but by far one of the funnest I’ve learnt so far. Thank you Sir 🙏.

Nice bass line, bass guitar and bass playing!
Legendary bass

Whow that is well played. Greetings from Greece.
Damn this one is pretty hard man!...More Dead tabs! You do a great job with them. I love playing along to them. Best bass collection on youtube.
Excellent playing & brilliant bass sound - you nailed it perfectly 👍
A hearty AMEN to that!
This one makes my hands tired
Not as bad as Billy Jean 🤪
Well done, as usual ! Always a pleasure to follow you 😎👍
Thans for sharing, It was very cool.
holy shit I never realized the bass line is so complicated
Learning this on bsss so much fun to play! almost there tho! Great job and thanks for sharing!!
I like your bass. Great
Performance.
Fantastic cover! Whew... I have been planning on learning this, and I have my work cut out😊. Keith just absolutely railed the bass and guitar on Sympathy!
Nicely done!
Wicked Bass Love it! 😝❤💫
Great music!
Keep going dude 😇🤘
Great cover great sound bass🎉🎉🎉😮
Thanks so much for this!
What model is this bass?
Keith Richards for some reason, he was genius...
master
i loved how you played it. I'm listening to this very often now hah. Do you remember how long did it take you to learn it?
Good!, I would like you to play Whotte Lotta Love live on MSG please 👏
NICE! been looking for that for a while, any advice on tuning? All versions I have seem a bit out or is it just me?
looping this till the Freezing of Hell
Dude…. Thanks 🙏🏽
Smooth 👊🏻
What kind of bass are you using? Its beautiful
Great job!!
Stone Roses and Happy Mondays owe Keith for this
Whole careers built on one man's bass riff
Not even a thankyou or doff of the cap ( beanie lol?)
still my fave bass line ever nothing else comes close for me and keith dosnt really even play bass usually.
What bass model is it?
@Chocoyo666 guild starfire bass .
Wow
Great song, but it just needs a few more Owls! ;)
For real great Bass playing though!
TOAN is so perfect for this rerecording
Whats the tuning?
Pretty sure its just standard tuning
Uuuuuuuooooooh

Keith was Stones best bassist lol
Nice but wrong note. It's 7th fret on both strings which I find MUCH harder
Why does this bassline feel like an extension of guitar? 🤔
It feels more like E7-A7 then A-A7
Whenever I try to learn to use the pick, I end up throwing it out the window. I just can’t do it and prefer fingers.
Fingers are definitely easier, but getting that plucky tone is difficult without a pick. It's worth learning the skill.

Davie 504 ? Nomination for a Pick Pass
Well, this may be sacriligious to some, but I think this bassline is a bit too busy. Some of the notes just don't sound appropriate to me.
ill never be this good. its just to fast
If you go to settings, you can play it at half speed. I'm working up to .75
guess very demanding to play.

it’s a free tab and you can see exactly where his fingers fret, it’s pretty clear
