Fantastic review! And for the record, I have the same issue with my LiitoKala Chargers… exactly the same thing with NiMH batteries. I have no issues with Lithium Ion batteries, but have this is when analyzing NiMH batteries. Very frustrating. I’m enjoying your channel. Best wishes, George
@georgesilverhawkstrailcame2297 Thanks, George! I've received lots of positive comments about the Liitokala and Vapcell, but I think the only comment about the Powerex was very negative. However, my experience has been the opposite. I also like the SkyRC, but that's the one O have least experience with. I have no experience with Opus.
Interesting review. I purchased a Liitokala after being impressed by it's performance in one of your previous reviews. Am happy with it too, it's been a great charger. However, the Powerex looks like a great choice from these tests. It is one I have overlooked, but after seeing this am keeping it in mind when in the market for another charger. Thanks for the detailed review.
Pleasure! Thanks for your feedback. Everyone has different experiences, and I can only relate my personal experience. The Liitokala has been fine, but the Powerex just has the edge. I've heard lots of good things about the Vapcell, so maybe I just got a faulty device. I'm still waiting to hear from the Thai Vapcell distributor. If they give me a replacement charger, I'll do some more testing.
@ryanstanley2985 I just have Powerex, Vapcell, and Liitokala. I've seen many reviews praising the SkyRC chargers, and I'm planning to get one, but I haven't done so yet.
I have several of the Vapcell chargers and I never use the capacity test. Too many times it's unable to finish the test and even when it does finish it gives low readings. Not nearly as low as the one you had, but still far too low. I only ever use it switched to manual, never in auto. I tried charging the cells fully and using the discharge mode, but I still get low readings all the time. I only use the Vapcell chargers for charging cells and it works fine for that, but only in manual mode. I mostly use li-ion cells but I do have quite a few NiMH and I mostly charge the NiMH in my Opus chargers.
That's interesting. Some chargers are better in certain modes than others. I have never managed to do a repair with my Littokala Li-600 because it just stops mid cycle. However, my Powerex charger is very good in repair mode. For a long time, I was a bit obsessed with the whole subject of rechargeable batteries and always did capacity tests to see how batteries and chargers were performing. But it's not always necessary, and the additional charge cycles reduce battery life. Recently, I've just been doing charge cycles. All of my batteries are NiMH, both AA and AAA. I have no experience with Li-Ion. With the Liitokala as well, I've found that Auto mode usually sets quite a high current, and I usually use Manual to lower it. With the Powerex, you have to set charge and discharge currents before it starts the cycle. There are far more current settings with the Powerex , and it can charge/discharge using much lower current settings. Thanks for sharing your experience!
What a comprehensive review! I've been looking for a new charger. My go-to brand has always been Liitokala. However now I have quite a number of 0v Ni-Mh AAs laying around my house. And they always rendered undetectable on this smart chargers. So my question is will it be working with any of these chargers? BTW I'm a Thai. ขอบคุณมากครับ 😄
คุณเขียนภาษาอังกฤษได้ดีมากครับ! The Liitokala is fine most of the time, but occasionally, I get a battery that gives an error with this charger. I have found with these troublesome batteries that the Powerex charger often does quite a good job of repairing them. I can't say for sure that the Powerex will always repair faulty batteries, but I've had quite a lot of success with it.

keep in mind that Powerex is no use for Li-ion batteries
I'm looking for Skyrc NC2200 or NC2500 Pro chargers, do you have any idea about these two ?

PWEREX don't do Li-ion cells... unfortunately!
That's right!
