[Lyrics]
We are not the sons of God
We are not his chosen people now
We have crossed the path he trod
We will feel the pain of his beginning
Shadow fingers rise above
Iron fingers stab the desert sky
Oh behold the power of man
On its tower, ready for the fall
Knocking heads together well
Raze a city, build a living hell
Join the race to suicide
Listen for the tolling of the bell
Out of the universe, a strange love is born
Unholy union, trinity reformed
Yellow sun its evil twin
In the black the wings deliver him
We will split our souls within
Atom seed to nuclear dust is riven
Out of the universe, a strange love is born
Unholy union, trinity reformed
Out of the darkness, brighter than a thousand suns [x6]
Bury your morals and bury your dead
Bury your head in the sand
E=mc2 you can relate
How we made God with our hands
Whatever would Robert have said to his God
About how he made war with the sun
E=mc2 you can relate
How we made God with our hands
All nations are rising through acid veils of love and hate
Chain letters of Satan, uncertainty leads us all to this
All nations are rising through acid veils of love and hate
Cold fusion and fury
Divide and conquer while ye may
Others preach and others fall and pray
In the bunkers where we'll die
There the executioners they lie
Bombers launch with no recall
Minute-warning of the missile fall
Take a look at your last sky
Guessing you won't have the time to cry
Out of the universe, a strange love is born
Unholy union, trinity reformed
Out of the darkness
Out of the darkness
Out of the darkness, brighter than a thousand suns [x5]
Holy Father we have sinned

Brighter Than A Thousand Suns is a song from the album''A Matter of Life and Death'' by Iron Maiden, released in 2006.
...Oppenheimer [1904--1967], the famous "Robert" who "made war with the sun" in the lyrics, was a physicist heading the Manhattan Project and in charge of developing a nuclear weapon before the enemy would get a chance to do it. A lot of research on nuclear fission had been going on in industrialised countries in the 1930s, hoping to use it as a powerful source of commercial energy. Unfortunately, due to the political instability in the relationship between some countries, it was naturally envisaged that this source of energy could also be used as a weapon. Some Jewish physicists who had emigrated to the United States aired their worries that Nazi Germany may have set up a programme to make a powerful weapon of mass-destruction (although this particular term was not used at the time) out of this research. They drafted in Albert Einstein ("e=mc2 you can relate"), also a Jewish refugee and world-renowned scientist, to give more weight to the argument. They wrote a letter, known as the Einstein-Szilárd letter, that convinced President Roosevelt to create a research committee as soon as 1939 to investigate the possibilities to produce a nuclear weapon based on uranium fission. Progress was slow, as the whole concept wasn't taken very seriously by those in charge, but independent research from the UK soon speeded things up, as it was demonstrated that only a small quantity of uranium would be sufficient to detonate a bomb whose power had never been seen before. Eventually, an "all-out effort" was authorised by Roosevelt to develop such a bomb as soon as possible. From 1942 to 1945, scientists raced to be the first ones to detonate a nuclear device, which they did on three occasions in 1945: on 16th July a test bomb exploded at the Trinity test site in New Mexico, on 6th August a uranium bomb (romantically code-named "little boy") was dropped over Hiroshima, and on 9th August a plutonium bomb (code name "fat man") razed Nagasaki to the ground. The nuclear age, with its threat of total destruction of mankind, had started.(Sourse: ironmaidencommentary.com )

I love this song and the whole Matter of life & Death album was so good
the best song , for me !!! the best album too!
wat a shame they didnt release this tour on dvd
brucedickinson12 that´s not a shame, that´s a crime against humanity, and certainly their fans !!!
well, if they didn't released a dvd, we will release clips of the tour, which we recorded manually
They filmed the download festival show of 2007 but never released it. I'm guessing because Bruce fell during Wrathchild maybe. Truly a shame
I was at that show. My first Iron Maiden Concert. Good Memories. :)
the voice of bruce is so powerfull what a heavy metal frontman
One the best songs of the best reunion album..no doubt.
Another sensational powerful song from the phenomenal AMOLAD....The forceful escalating rythm, splendid guitar harmonies, riffs, solos, bass and drums, then the magical interpretation by Bruce....without a doubt, theese guys are the true metal ICONS and will hold the throne forever....they defines metal music, and music with class, feeling and mindblowing lyrics !!!
I HATE that I missed this tour. I really hope they eventually release a high-quality video of it. #uptheirons
Love this song up the irons from casacuaran guanajuato mexico!!!!!!!!!!
Another blistering song from their best album, ever, the sensational AMOLAD....I love it, as I love the Iron Maiden, the guitar harmonies, the solos, riffs, drums, bass and the powerful voice of Bruce.....to good to be true, but the gods of heavy metal, or any metal, makes it true.......
absolutely, MASTER-PIECE.
UP THE IRONS.
The power and grandeur of this epic song is unbelievable !! Guitar harmonies are off the charts, the riffs, solos, bass, drums and the magical interpretation by Bruce....the Gods of metal are supreme in their progressive music, unmatched, untouched and comparable to none, absolutely none !!
Love this song, the performance is INCREDIBLE. My only gripe is Bruce doesn't sing the intro and verses at a staggered timing like he does on the recording :/ takes away a bit of the power. But that's splitting hairs. Long live MAIDEN!!!
I´ve FINALLY seen them live, for the first time in London in their " Legacy of the Beast " tour....first to the barrier, and the incredible set list, stage settings and their performances lifted the ROOF....they were WAY beyond my wildest expectations, when the guys entered the stage it felt like a tremendous force of nature suddenly was let loose...I left totally blown away with two broken ribs and a back looking like a rainbow, BUT I promise, I´ll be in Chile 2019, NOTHING could ever keep me away from their future shows...
I have seen them on Madrid 2018, again on the Legacy of the Beast tour, first time, and I will never loose a Iron Maiden concert in Spain
@@marcelacoplao I know what you mean, unfortunately I had tickets for both Sweden and Israel this year but of course they are cancelled, so let us hope for next.
Hope you were in that Chile 2019
@@NachoHarris OH YES, it was the night of my life! I was in the fourth row from the stage, surrounded by guys from Chile.... I must tell you that the crowd from Chile was the nicest, most generous and excited I have ever seen, they made it worth this long, hard and extremly expensive trip!
All I can say is Thank you Chile!!
This is the best reunion album no doubt. Such mastery, heavy, complex… I saw this as my first concert in 2006 and as much as I loved it, I wish I could see it again now just to appreciate it even more!
But why reunion?
@@muchozorable because it came out after Bruce and Adrian rejoined
@@AaronW_guitar Well, there was Brave new world and Dance of death before or i missing smth
@@muchozorable no you’re not missing anything except for what I said is, AMOLD is IMO the best reunion album. That doesn’t mean there weren’t other reunion albums.
@@AaronW_guitar Aa, now i got ya. I think that too :D
A very powerful and passionate song...this heavy metal in all its glory, brilliant music, mindblowing lyrics, guitar harmonies and the masterly interpretation by Bruce, and of course Iron Maiden make the song rise to the heights of magic......stunning guys....
This song makes me think about how hopesless humanity is. I don't know why, it's just a hopesless song to me. I love it though. 😀
que temazo la puta madre! what a song!
