I must say I love Speedokote ! Just shot my second job ever ! It turned out pretty damn good for a single stage urethane ! I found that is laid pretty nice you just have to lay it real wet with several passes like 70%. Garage temp about 68. It looks like it has a clear coat but it doesn't ! Using basic Husky gun from home depot HVLP and 26 gallon compressor. For $120 there's no way I can complain !!! Thank you for the vids keep the tips coming !
I've been thinking of a colour change on my Corolla and was wondering what would look good besides Nardo Grey. I thought of a green like this but wasn't sure. After seeing this I've added it to the short-list.
Great. Vid Marco but 1 thing I would change is I would sand it down with 400 or 600 grit and red scotchbrite so the sealer and paint grab on the panel a lot better than 800.
The finish was fantastic. You do amazing work with out ideal booth. You are a real professional Paint Refunisher. Art Bolanos. I plan to order your fast drying clear coat for my sons car.
Hey Marco great job again as usual but I do have a couple questions for ya. Right around 3:50 in the video I noticed a small place in the center of the cab that looked like it was dry or didn't get good coverage. Did you address that or did it just disappear when you shot the clear? Also, in the comments, you've talked of putting in a booth. With the results you are getting without a booth what would be the benefits of that? All I can think of is the ability to have multiple projects/jobs going at the same time.
Yea I got a tiny bit of dry spray in the center of that roof . Usually 9 times out of 10 it dissapears after a coat of clear. And only major benefit to a booth is slightly less dust and less overspray all over the shop .
I know this is super late comment but love this color, is this the Toyota 6V7 Army Green Single Stage Acrylic Urethane Color? If so which activator did you use or which speed? Thank you in advance
Man that green is beautiful! Would you be interested in painting a 2008 shelby gt? Gloss black and maybe a set of stripes (not sure about stripes on a beautiful black mustang. No rust or dents, only chips and a little clear fade from the sun. You make these cars look amazing man! Keep em rollin!
Marco you rock. I wish I lived in PA lol. Yo funny story, that red rsx you did. I saw its tail lights and rear bumper for sale on marketplace two months after you finished it. A cop pulled out infront and totaled the car sadly 😥
Why didn't you put down the calculations of everything you bought with price? What reducer did you use, etc? And what was the clear coat that you used?
I'm glad I just found your channel. I will be painting my car for the first time and I've never heard of speedokote now I want to try it out. Would you say it's mid level product compared to ppg?
Never gets sick of these full car re sprays. Great job, once again. I binge watched a bunch of your older videos last night, thanks for the new content. I have an idea for a shop project video. Why not build a simple enclosure for the compressor just out of 2x4s and plywood. Line the inside with acoustic foam. Might be a cool video. And your quality of life would improve in the shop. 🙂 Keep up the good work! 👍
this is a nice idea but keep in mind you should probably use a box fan inside the enclosure running whenever the compressor is on to keep the compressor cool to keep humidity content to a minimum.
dude the output on this thing is awesome, i was thinking raptorlining my ford excursion in this color, but you're convincing me that its possible to get a polished look with a coat approach... how many total hours of work can i expect the guy to have to process? 24 hours?
Wow!! That came out really nice as always!! Question: If you clear coating the whole car, do you spray all around or do you go from spraying one part on the left to one part on the right and then back to the left to spray another part and so on? Thank you in advance.
I do exactly what you said , one part of the left part of the car , bounce to the right , then to the left and to the right until I reach the back of the car this is called "keeping the wet edge"
