Thanks for putting this together. It was good to get out of my comfort zone, and listen to these types of quizzes. I really underestimated the speed of even just JLPT5 level. I hope you do more of these types of videos in the near future. This one was really helpful.
It's interesting to finally find something where i can understand the meaning in most cases but lack the complete knowledge of every single word. Great resource. This is my level
Thank you for making this helpful class! The listening practice first, then with translation is a perfect format. This is my #1 favorite Japanese learning video on RUclips. I subscribed and hope there are many more in the future! :)
This was great! I really enjoy this style of listening and trying to answer a question and test my listening level. For me this is more beneficial than just listening to 10-15minute dialogue. Please do more of these in the future even if not from actual JLPT tests.
Thanks for putting these videos. So far, I got 5/5 on this. The other two videos were only 4. The only thing I'm missing is right now are speaking skills and correct grammar usage.
In the first two vids i watched i got one or two wrong but the more i am watching the more right answers i am getting at plus the level and kind of trickiness of the questions, and its very close to the listening practice i have been doing, thank you for these different types of audio, now I will not face difficulties for my listening section, which i was constantly worrying about.💞
Thank you so much for your explanation Sensei. It helps me alot. As I am a beginner so listening is really hard for me. Thank you so much once again. Please upload more videos related to JLPT N5.❤
Wow, this was a good one! I don't really have the time I'd like to work on my Japanese, but this video was very conducive to listening! Just have to peek every now and then to see what the available answers are. Thanks a bunch!
I'm appreciating you to do such great work. I can speak something in Japanese but it is being difficult in listening. I'm getting benefit from your videos,
I'm so happy and proud of myself,I could understand 60-70% of it... 😙 And answer some,of course, and can now see where I got confused, welp, time to learn more Vocab~ ;D ありがとうね、もち様🍙🌸
Thank you for making this!! I've been using the Genki listening practices, but they never show a transcript or translation so it's hard to correct yourself if you get anything wrong. This is a really helpful format!
I must say that N5 sounds like quite challenging for a total beginner 😅 and the questions impressively more complex than the responses: not sure if it’s just me, but it looks like a pre-intermediate lv if compared to learning English. Would you have a way to compare the N system with an A1-C2 or beginner/fluent kind of ranking system? (Online it gets quite confusing trying to compare them) I’ll be very curious to see how much time I’ll take to fully comprehend that. Beautiful video, thanks for sharing it
I think the same, N5 is much more difficult than English A1 or A2. Japanese have too high expectations, but that's it, we need to tackle the difficulties. I'm just doing a lot of practice tests and learn from them.
By the looks of it N5 is like A2. So my guess it would be something like N5=A2, N4=B1, N3=B2, N2=C1, N1=C2. A1 is "what is your name", "where are you from" crap. Though in reality you probably would jump over one at N2, pushing N2=C2 with N1 not having an equivalent if you consider overall literacy due to the fact that there are kanji involved.
最後の問題は新しい文法形式を教えました!「はやいほう」の「ほう」をその仕方で使ったことがありません。もち先生、ありがとうございます! Translation: That last question taught me a new grammatical form! I have never used the “hou” in “hayai hou” in that way before. Thank you, Mochi Sensei!
I don’t understand myself well enough in the Japanese language. So I realized I need to understand myself before the context or the context before myself. I don’t understand myself, that’s a problem, but I feel like with enough practice I can nail both sides, I hope. Taketo, ohiyogazaimasu.
First one i was unsure but correct (succeeded) Second I didnt know what uma was and ended up not answering (failed) Third one i was sure and correct (succeeded) Fourth one i was sure and correct (succeeded) Fifth one I didn't understand most of the things they said and answered 2 or 3 which is then partly right (failed)
Im able to read N4 level, however my listening is so bad. I struggle evn with N5 level listening. Got all 4/5 right this time though so I'm happy. Being able to understand what you didn't before motivates you like no other
I’ve been taking Japanese classes(and living in Japan) for the last 7 months or so, decided to attempt these. Somehow got all of them right with relative ease! Gives me more confidence towards the exam
As a beginner, can someone tell me if the speed after the first question is normal for the N5 level lol ? I only understood the first one clearly, all the others sounded fast as hell, or perhaps i just suck
Nice! That is very helpful.🙇 I want to try N5 this year. I know that for N5 we have to learn 110 kanji, around 800 words, basic grammar rules, and of course listening training. ( in listening i am very bad🥺)... Anyway thanks to your video, i realized that my bad listening skill depends on low knowledge of vocabulary: for example, hanashiteimasu: now i know it means Speaking🙂
@@livelovelife32 Hi. I'm using the Genki Integrated book and I've started using the handbook of Japanese verbs by Taeko Kamiya and I listen to music from Official Hige Dandism (I hope I got the spelling right) and try to learn kanji from all over. I started mid January this year and the measure of progress that I'm using is being able to make sentences of what I'm doing daily but I still can't construct sentences. I don't study daily because I'm learning a lot of things but I'm doing my best
Correction on the translation for number 4 - the boy booked the court, he didn't take anyone's coats.
Oooohhh okay that makes way more sense! Lol
I thought it weird that they would have a kleptomaniac in the JLPT.
🤣🤣🤣😭💀 I thought I was going crazy
💀💀@@nmitsthefish
😂😂😂 Number 4 gave me a headache. I learned something new today that coat and court are both 「コート」in Japanese!
can we take a moment to acknowledge how much faster the speakers in question number 2 are talking? jfc
That question was more akin to N4 or N3, it has principles not covered in the N5 syllabus.
I KNOW RIGHT?! @@janusmcgee8909
Yeah, I thought it was waaaay to fast for jlpt5
Yea but it almost made it easier tbh, because like I can hear it how I do in anime, when it’s slow it throws me off sometimes haha.

This is one of the best Japanese learning videos I've ever seen. Thank you and please do more.
This is humbling … been studying and watching Japanese videos for about 3 years now … I can only pick up bits and pieces
Finally! After many listening practices, I have understood number 3. I am improving now.
Thank you for making this helpful class! The listening practice first, then with translation is a perfect format. This is my #1 favorite Japanese learning video on RUclips. I subscribed and hope there are many more in the future! :)
thank you!❤️
I'll do more!☺️
Love these videos もちsensei! Def helps me understand what level I need to be at to pass N5. Thats my goal right now. Hope to see more of this!! 😊
I'm going to pass jlpt n5 tomorrow. thanks for your video, it helped me to feel confidence😊

Thanks for the video! I was afraid of doing listening practice but it went much better than expected :D
Hi, I am Korean, a few weeks ago, I applied JLPT N3, listening is most difficult part, I think your lecture will be very helpful for me, thanks
Thanks for putting these videos. So far, I got 5/5 on this. The other two videos were only 4. The only thing I'm missing is right now are speaking skills and correct grammar usage.

thank you so much for this, i tried to look for many videos, but yours is the best given all the explanation!
for me the most difficult was number 4, not for guessing the answer but for the sentence structure
I`ve just found your channel today and I already like it pretty much! You`re so sweet and explain everything very well^^

This is really helpful. This channel would be one of my building blocks to become an N1 passer one day. :))
Thank you so much Mochi-sensei! This video was extremely helpful 🙏🏻
Thank you for this content. I've been looking for Nihongo assessment contents that will further assit my japanese learning.

I was surprised to see the speed at which the listening section happened. That was a shock to me

I’m really happy that I got everything right ❤
