Hey man, I won't lie, I'm brand new to your channel. However, I'm extremely glad I found you by chance as you and I have a lot in common. I was a lifetime console gamer that relatively recently made the switch to PC! To top that off I also enjoy coffee. I would love to see a coffee video! That would be awesome. Enjoying the videos, I will definitely continue watching. Keep doing your thing, dude!
Definitely want a coffee gear and process of how you make it. You inspired me to get an Aeropress. Now I just need a video on other gear and how much you use of beans, water and etc. love the videos. Makes me think and rethink my gaming experience. Keep it up
I would recommend Sekiro to someone that likes Black myth. I tried elden ring, it just didnt catch me. Once I tried Sekiro, It became one of my favorite games ever
Same. Sekiro was a good introduction game to Souls-Like for me. Bloodbourne would also be a viable option once it comes to Steam. I’d tried Dark Souls prior but I wasn’t making it anywhere 😅near
If you have a Playstation then you might like Bloodborne too. Dark Souls 3 is also a mix between Bloodborne and Demon Souls. Demon Souls on PS is also a cut faster than OG souls.
We all have that one game that spoiled us on PC. When i first got into PC gaming i played many different games that looked amazing and i could instantly see the difference, from Doom eternal, rocket league, RE7, etc. But what really SOLD me was Monster Hunter World on PC. I've only ever seen someone i know play it on a console in passing. But when I played that game on PC it felt like an actual world. It was at that moment that i realized that i couldnt go back.
You’re gonna love the Souls games whenever you get to them. I first played Dark Souls 1 at the beginning of lockdown. Changed my life! Since then I have played every EldenSoulsBorne, some multiple times. Just amazing! It has carried over into my other gaming too: I’m currently going for the Grounded Mode trophy in The Last Of US Part II.
That Ooohyeoh Ding sound in black myth gets us everytime, you know what sound I’m talking about. Actually it’s in a lot of Chinese media. I think it’s a sound bite many use. Like the horse sound effect from Zelda
Did you see the new white steam deck dropping today? Still considering whether it’s worth it or not. I have pc, ps5 and switch so it’s hard to justify but it looks so good
From here I’d recommend Dark Souls 3, Elden Ring or Sekiro. Imo Sekiro is the closest to black myth but I think it’s much harder. My favorite is DS3 bc it was my first. Even after beating Elden Ring I went back and played it fresh on my steam deck in July. Still incredible!
I only play switch anymore as a busy dad thinking of getting steam deck I like portable gaming much better while my daughter is watching her show I can game on the couch
Games have become so overly saturated with map markers and bs content. Ubification is what I like to call it. It's why these "souls like" games have become so popular. You play the game. You explore. You fight. Build up a character with items you find. Struggling, persisting, overcoming. Getting better and more skillful. The games become easier. Then a DLC drops and they kick your ass all over again. They teach patience. Not giving up. Ultimately, life lessons. Tack on 0 micro-transactions. A complete game. Perfection in its imperfections. I spent close to 2500 hours in Bloodborne as my first game in this genre and have played most of them since then. Haven't played Wukong, but it in many ways still has the souls formulae. Even if it is an easier entry to the series.
Completely agree dude. Games are so boring when you’re just going through the motions of completing it. Elden Ring opened my eyes to this formula in 2022. Now most of what I play are souls likes.
Hey JD I wanted to share this quote I heard from Jack Sather, he was talking about Elden Ring but I'm wondering if this might be relatable to what you're experiencing with Black Myth. 👐 "This game has moments that feel so special to me. It's the most tense I've felt in gaming, but also the most accomplished I've felt in a videogame, ever. The tunnel vision during the fight, the adrenaline built up and released at the end of it. I've played so many different types of games but I can't express to you how it felt. And I don't think I could experience this as a kid. To have an experience like that and the way it felt, almost requires experience as a gamer."
The quote you wrote from JD is exactly why so many fell in love with Metroidvania and Souls style games. So much freedom and exploration. Difficult content, but when you master the game it is ultimately some of the most rewarding experiences in gaming. Period.
It almost feels wrong to say that a game like Elden Ring respects the player (because of difficulty) but that's actually just a wrong perception. The game completely respects you as a player to learn and experiment to see what works and what doesn't... To me, every single inch is Earned while playing Elden Ring. And that feels rewarding. ER, has no direction, and the only guard rails are difficulty. It's up to the player where and how they make their journey. Elden Ring really is a 'Breath of the Wild' type of experience and I'm so excited to see you approach it in a new light 🎉👐
I refuse to play any game with Denuvo on it. What happened to RUclipsrs calling out this terrible trend? Making the paying customer's experience worse because of pirates, sorry that's not how you get my money.
Playing through FF 16 right now and I am right about reaching that point where I just rush the main story lul but for real almost all games now old hands too much. Still need to try both Black Myth & Elden Ring, Sekiro was my favourite from the ones I tried.
lol. I am the opposite. As I got older I have less time so I play only easier games so I get variety. I used to play harder but at 1 hour a day or so sometimes that means only one game for months.
You should try warhammer 2 to cleanse the palate after wukong, playing too many souls games in a row stresses you out so it’s nice to play something that makes you feel powerful before getting back into being punched in the throat again
10:13 Wireless Bose over-the-ear headphones are better than (insert favored wired brand) and if you don’t think so kick rocks. Very much tongue in cheek. Come on homie. You have a PS5. Play Demon Souls. It might click, Black Myth is not a souls-like. This doesn’t mean the game isn’t amazing.
You gotta play Elden ring bruh, not this Chinese shovel ware. (It was only huge there as a money laundering front lol) didn’t sell a ton in the USA or uk.
I been saying it for it all year stellar blade and black myth both average ass games in a sea of crap this year lol both mid games but the woke is being shut down so it should get better
Nah elder ring are boring you just roll and strike that's it character moveset are boring and lame there's no combo or anything the boss moveset is cool but your character is lame

I have heard this

Yes and a oled monitor or TV takes it to a other level

"Um ackshually Black Myth is NOT a souls like"
lmfao
remember when games were just good or bad and not like
People get so particular about labels that don’t really matter. Like who cares what the difference is between a roguelike and roguelite?
10:23 ha ha ha, hey dude, get bent. I clutched my pearls. No I didn’t, I fell on the floor laughing.
Hahahah
I've not yet played Black myth, but look forward to playing when I get my new pc.
One thing with souls types is the satisfaction of defeating an enemy. Im gearing up for Sekiero soon. Patients will be required!
Good channel, I’m following your Nintendo switch and steam deck videos for guidance more but I enjoy your videos and how I relate to them!
That Ooohyeoh Ding sound in black myth gets us everytime, you know what sound I’m talking about. Actually it’s in a lot of Chinese media. I think it’s a sound bite many use. Like the horse sound effect from Zelda
Steam pressure makes that same Ting sound. Ironic
Animal well was a fantastic game
Did you see the new white steam deck dropping today? Still considering whether it’s worth it or not. I have pc, ps5 and switch so it’s hard to justify but it looks so good
Please play Tunic. Go in blind, it’s the most rewarding game I’ve ever played. It’s basically a Zelda looking souls game
That’s what I have been told. I own it.
From here I’d recommend Dark Souls 3, Elden Ring or Sekiro. Imo Sekiro is the closest to black myth but I think it’s much harder.

Link's Awakening remake. What a treat.❤
You may like the original Dark Souls. So pure and focused.

Just bought my Ally X. Should I buy this game? Is it worth it? I heard so much about it already
Coffee videoooo

yes make the coffee gear video please.
Next video coming up
I refuse to play any game with Denuvo on it. What happened to RUclipsrs calling out this terrible trend? Making the paying customer's experience worse because of pirates, sorry that's not how you get my money.
To each their own
Are the colors more saturated in this video, the Mario Movie vinyl is blasting back there? Feels different, looks nice imo. Good content as always!
Nice watch brother- what kind is it?
Garmin instinct 2x tactical

Yea it’s a great game but man does it bloat up at times.
lol. I am the opposite. As I got older I have less time so I play only easier games so I get variety. I used to play harder but at 1 hour a day or so sometimes that means only one game for months.
Totally fair.
Why don't you want native 4k? It looks better than non native in most cases.
if he loves souls for the world and gameplay just wait until get learns the damn lore
So modern gaming is like the shitty FMV games of the late 90s on a bigger scale.
You should try warhammer 2 to cleanse the palate after wukong, playing too many souls games in a row stresses you out so it’s nice to play something that makes you feel powerful before getting back into being punched in the throat again
I have something in between

Getting it on steam deck first sale
For aure
You should plug some gameplay of yourself while you speak of your experience, tiny square in the corner or something for reference.
I may. This is more of a fireside chat kind of feel so gameplay would be on twitch
Please give Elden ring another shot it’s a great game and you can get help from people on stream
I will
Yes, console gaming is so spoon fed, most exclusives are walking simulator for the lesser brains
I wouldn’t put it that way but I agree they are easier.
I can’t play Elden ring either to hard to get into
It is challenging for sure.
GOTY i bet
It’s mine
You gotta play Elden ring bruh, not this Chinese shovel ware. (It was only huge there as a money laundering front lol) didn’t sell a ton in the USA or uk.
Finally somebody understands.
Hey. It's getting him into the genre. The genre that is the anitode to the drearyness of modern gaming.
what a comment
Black Myth was an amazing fucking game. Like what?
Of course it didn't,
Im from the UK and the game is huge here... but sure, you do you.
I been saying it for it all year stellar blade and black myth both average ass games in a sea of crap this year lol both mid games but the woke is being shut down so it should get better
