A tip from Lee Wulff: when tailing a salmon by hand, grip the 'wrist' of the fish with your thumb and forefinger directed towards the tail instead of the adipose fin; this will give you a much more secure grip and the fish is less likely to slip from your hand.

Salmon fishing is never easy. How much frustration is when you casting whole day in the pool, full of fish, and have zero contacts. Big fly, small fly, swinged, fast stripped... nothing. Nobody knows why they refuse any offering sometimes. Especially in the middle of summer on low water conditions
