Baselworld 2019: Hands-on the HUBLOT Big Bang "Sang Bleu II" by Maxime Plescia-Buchi

  • #Hublot This is already the second edition of "Sang Blue" watches Hublot is presenting with Tattoo Artist Maxime Plescia-Buchi. The "Sang Blue I" collection, launched in 2016, is sold out. Whilst the latter appeared to be more or less two-dimensional, the Big Bang "Sang Bleu II" is more disruptive. Hublot channels the creative inspiration of Maxime Plescia-Buchi into its three-dimensional angles and edges. The motif spans the case, cutting into its hexagonal bezel, and carving into the sapphire crystal, juxtaposed against the hands with their geometric lines, and moulded onto the interchangeable bracelet. The dial plays with transparency, allowing glimpses of the Hublot in-house chronograph Unico movement. It is feat of construction, almost architectural in scope, in a 45-mm case.
    Curious? I invite you to discover the new watches and to let me know what you think.
    Titanium: Ref. 418.NX.1107.RX.MXM19 Limited to 200 pieces
    King Gold: Ref. 418.OX.1108.RX.MXM19 Limited to 100 pieces
    Titanium: 23'900 CHF 24'800 EUR 25'200 USD 20'800 GBP

      WatchAdvisor not specifically! I’m currently on the list for 3 Rolex’s as these are a better investment. I do love the Spirit if Big Bang Magic Gold though but would expect to lose a lot of money on that watch.

    • @WatchAdvisor
      @WatchAdvisor  5 лет назад +4

      Interesting! Do you buy these Rolex only as an investment, or do you also like them? Will you wear them? Would you wear them if the y wouldn't be a Rolex? I understand what you think about the Spirit of Big Bang and I can't even disagree. Reason and emotion may contradict each other! But still I would never buy a watch just for an investment. A watch for me is already filled up with emotions when I buy it and then when I wear it it is nourished every day with even more (personal) emotions. A mechanical wristwatch for me is the antidote to the world of bits and bytes, to the digits 0 & 1. If I like a design, a watch I buy it and I give a sh.. if the watch will ever increase in value or not, or if I loose money... Pleasure & fun count, nothing else...

    I know a lot of people hate Hublot so much because of it's price, heritage and etc. I'm not a big fan of hublot and I prefer to buy AP, Patek or Rolex because it is more reasonable price. But in my opinion this Big bang Sang Bleu II is one of the most great looking watch and my first favorite Hublot watch. I know it is hard to read the time but despite of that It has unique shape that make this watch looks different. *_Disclaimer : this is my opinion as an art enthusiast point of view_*

    I really, really like Hublot... so much interesting activity. I think Mr. Biver is completely accurate in saying watches are no longer for time; they are pieces of art/jewelry. Rolex and all the other "tool watches" are ridiculous. If you want a tool watch, use what SOF guys I know use in the field (G-Shocks). Buy a watch today for your artistic tastes. However, it's just too big for my 7" wrist.
    However, whenever I hear someone say a watch has a lot of technology to explain the cost... get real. You can buy a car for these prices that have more technology in just the dashboard electronics.
    P.S. I would love to see WatchAdvisor do a series of videos on tours of watch manufacturing buildings (i.e. for Rolex, Omega, Breitling, Sinn, Seiko, Patek, AP, etc.)

    • @WatchAdvisor
      @WatchAdvisor  5 лет назад +6

      George, you don't buy a watch with the intention to earn a fortune... Buy shares instead and/or speculate/gamble with currencies... I write this not only because of your comment on Hublot ... Wear a watch, enjoy its design and qualities and share second by second of your life with it. The watch then will become a time vault, something special for you and therefore has no longer any commercial value ...

    • @tbd1613
      @tbd1613 5 лет назад +1

      @@WatchAdvisor I buy watches that I enjoy however i am prudent with my $$$. I study the market, I study the watch i am interested in and when I pull the trigger i hate loosing 50% of my money. When buying used I can enjoy all the design, quality, and movement as much as anyone who paid full retail. Great and informative videos. Enjoy them all. Major fan! Just differing points of view. BTW my humble collection of Rolex and PP have 3-4X in value since purchasing(all used).

    • @WatchAdvisor
      @WatchAdvisor  5 лет назад +4

      @@tbd1613 Patek Philippe and Rolex keep the value quite well - yes. This was due to the fact that since you bought yours the retail prices have doubled ... So of course the secondary market made a parallel move... Now prices do no longer go up so quickly and this is the moment of reality... Today price stability is made by Patek Philippe and Rolex by limiting the delivery of certain models. This still helps the entire collection to keep prices stable - still. Try to sell an "ordinary" Patek Philippe or Rolex watch, not a limited, looked after steel model! Reality will quickly wake you up! Other brands did not have such a development for sure, but who cares? Buying a luxury article is always a little risky if you want to resell it once... Enjoy what you have and don't ONLY think about reselling!
