Remember Dave has that ace card over Martin Gore and that is he is the voice of DM, without him DM are a duo with a very talented demo songwriter and a hanger on who cannot play anything. Imagine a solo album by Dave with Alan Wilder the producer/music arranger. Dave has only ever threatened to leave DM once and that was after the album Violator when he told Martin Gore that if they didn't record a hard rock'n'roll album next he is off. Good job Gore came up with demos like 'Rush', 'Condemnation' and'I feel You'.
