Arrest this man (for making excellent videos) Everything from concept, filming, editing to title and thumbnail were top notch. Really enjoyable stuff mate!
@steve-marsh Yeah, I've passed the point of no return. Pre-RUclips I was a law-abiding, mild-mannered guy just getting on with the daily grind. Now look at me. 😉
I'm 73 years old - have had 2 spine surgeries in the last 6 years and can't walk more than 600 feet. I have been to 65 countries - of course before the ailments - and had hoped to do the kind of exploring you are doing!!! I am living off your adventures. Thank you so much!!
Rosia bay was where they towed HMS Victory after the battle of Trafalgar to drop off the wounded and dying. Some of which are buried in the Trafalgar cemetery opposite the South bastion. At the south bastion is a statue of Nelson. Nelson was stored in a barrel of brandy at Rosia bay before being brought back to England. Loved the video. Brilliant.
The industrial area was the old Naval Base which has been downsized significantly over the past few years. Rosia Bay is where Lord Nelsons HMS Victory berthed after he will killed in the battle of Trafalgar. If you go up the Rock you can access the caves, the Great Siege Tunnels are fascinating along with St Michaels Caves.
Hello Neil. You obviously know Gib' well. Tell me- have you seen the film 'The Silent Enemy'? I know it's not terribly accurate but there are a couple of scenes that I haven't quite worked out the location for.
I worked in the tunnels 1979 - 80, replacing diesel pipes, friends say you can still acccess some of them. Also worked in the dockyard's generating station, and at that time you had to get an army seargent to take you down St Michaels cave. No paths rudimentary lighting but really impressive.
My husband and i walked around the rock twice in recent years, made the walk through thr tunnel once , next time a kindly local stopped at the entrance and offered us a lift to other end. Told us he was a bird watcher and that many types of birds passed over when migrating . We also walked the Mediterranean steps...that was quite a feat ....couldn't do it now!!..... Spent a year in Gibraltar 79/80 while a naval nurse at Royal Naval Hospital loved it.
I have spent many many happy hours wandering around Gibraltar from the waterline to the top of the Rock and have never had any bother! It’s a very historical and interesting place with hundreds of hidden gems to discover!
Hey, loved the videos, I actually live here and had some fun watching your visit. Along with this, you suprised me in showing that we weren't allowed to walk through the tunnel. I've walked through many times and I've never seen that sign! Anyway, if you ever come back, let me know and I'd be more than happy to show you all the cooler places that tourists don't know about. Also, the industrial estate does actually have an access point through a really discrete set of steps, so you didn't have to turn around. But I'm glad you did because the views are much nicer the way you went.
Good job you avoided filming the Naval Base. There are offences under the Crimes Act 2011 in Gibraltar in relation to photographing or filming military sites in Gibraltar. They are designated sites under the Gazette
I used to run around the rock every other day when I was based there in 91/92. At that time you were allowed in the tunnel 7:20 however I walked through it (in 2011) as you did and believe me some of the car drivers left me in no doubt that this wasn't allowed anymore!! and I used to work in the industrial area you started the walk in!! Hope you enjoyed Gib!!
7:00 - I haven't heard a fog horn for years ! As a child I used to lay in bed listening to them off the Goodwin Sands ....... and then before I knew it, it was time to get up for school again !
You wouldn't break any laws on the Isle of Man. They jail you for looking sideways there. Seriously, they jail people for everything there. It's a lot to do with having a greater capacity jail than they'll ever need.
Visited Gib in April last before walking north to Sevilla on the Via Serrana. My time in Gib was limited, so I missed all the places you show here. Definitely a second visit required. Thanks for the inspiration and for this really good video.
Another great watch, cheers Scott. Some beautiful spots BUT ... as you said last time out, there's still "something" missing. I do love the definitely-not-a-TFL-roundel "G" on the bus stops!
Great to see more of Gibraltar it is a nice place to visit and of course it has the most beautiful scenery, i really enjoyed seeing Gibraltar and have a great week thank you.👋🇬🇧

Great video, Scott. I got a bit lost in a car there and found myself driving down a pedestrianised street. Several locals were quite concerned that I would get told off if I went any further and helped me turn around !!
My wife and I stayed at the Bristol when visiting Gibraltar in 2014. It's very oldy worldy with wood panelling on all the walls and it looks like it hasn't been decorated since the early 70s. But there is a certain charm to the place. We were married at the cathedral and had our reception at the Caleta, which was a wonderful place, now sadly demolished.
just found your Gib and Malaga videos. Nice to watch (you have a pleasant manner and also do things of interest to me like visiting and comparing supermarket prices. So I don't turn off) and reminisce of places I've been too and would like to re-visit. But haven't the time or money too.
Hi Scott, Great video! It reminded me of when I was in Gibraltar back in 2012 and decided to rent a bike to cycle all around Gibraltar. Basically, I did the same thing as you, but on a bike. I can't quite remember if it was also forbidden to cycle through the tunnel on the eastern side of the Rock, so maybe there's still an arrest warrant out for me in Gibraltar. I also cycled across the runway and crossed the border into Spain. I turned around immediately, cycled back over the runway, and did a loop through the harbor area, just so I could say I crossed Gibraltar from north to south and from west to east. I think I was back after just over an hour, haha.
Thanks for the interesting video. I went on holiday to Gibraltar many times during the 80s and 90s and was able to stay with a friend from student days who worked there as a teacher. One day we did decide to walk through that tunnel but in the opposite direction. However, we did get stooped by a policeman on a motorbike just after we emerged from the tunnel. He asked a few questions about who we were and why we were there. He soon let us continue on our way although he claimed that it could be dangerous to walk through because of poisonous fumes.
Great vid Scott, I did the less energetic version. Caught the Number 2 Bus from Bus Station to Europa Point then walked to the tunnel, waited and hitchhiked through. I carried on the walk to Sandy Bay ( Both Worlds) and then caught the Number 4 Bus back to the Bus Station. Two Things 1) Less Energetic and 2) Legal. Cheers my friend
Gibraltar specializes in quick and easy weddings. Not quite a la Las Vegas, but as long as you spend a night in Gib before or after the ceremony, it can all be arranged very quickly and easily. My wife and I did this during covid when everywhere else in the world was huffing and puffing about such things. We had a wonderful experience in Gib and go back every year.
Great video! I was there a few days before you for my 6th visit. Europa Point is a favourite spot of mine, being able to see Morocco and Spain, and the cafe does lovely food. Fantastic footage of the rock and some excellent sea views, thank you. However, you'll have to go back as you missed eastern beach and the little beach opposite - forgot its name - on the side of the runway nearest to the border crossing ;-) Would recommend you get a white or at least a light coloured cap too, it is important to keep the brain cool. You may find your walks less tiring. Loved your other Gib videos too, BTW, thumbs up on all of them.
Scott... i beat you to it on this one! Did this walk with a mate of mine but in the opposite direction back in february. We got to the tunnel entrance and ummed and ahhed about going in then a bus pulled up and we asked the driver if anyone would mind us walking through the tunnel and he said go for it, no-one will care! If you like tunnels, you would love the Faroe Islands. They have 17 tunnels through mountains and 4 under the sea, including the world's only undersea roundabout. You can't walk through them however.
I remember the Bristol Hotel. It's sad that they demolished the Caletta Hotel recently on the east side of the island... That building was iconic but apparently they want a massive Hilton there instead now 🙄😭
Loved holidays as a kid staying at the Caleta Palace. We ate at Michael’s bar down on Catalan Bay. Amazing grilled swordfish. Such a shame the Caleta has gone.
