I like this splinter cell because of all the different outfits Sam wears. Its nice to switch it up once and awhile, rather than just changing the color of his Stealth Suit. Gotta love the small things.
I agree. It’s what I loved about this version of DA. It did not try to imitate the SCs before it. This version was very original. I felt like I was playing something new and different. The Ver 1 haters loved Ver 2 because it tried to copy the games before it especially CT. I mean if I wanted to play a different game, I would play that game. But if I play DA, I want to feel like I’m playing DA. Considering that this game involves Sam and a deep cover op for the first time, we should expect a different playing experience. I loved that it was different, same for Conviction. While I love the OG Splinter Cells and CT is my fav, different is good. Different means no stale formula that makes the series unenjoyable by the end. Loved the gameplay, graphics, story, everything about this game.
I always remember this mission as that which clinched this game being the superior version of DA. I had played the other version all the way through first on PS2, but I wasn’t a fan of the missions, Sam-Enrica romance, cutscenes, the HQ being in Louisiana instead of NY, and the gameplay copying CT to a t. I felt so disappointed. But when I played this version, first few missions were solid but fell in love with the Shanghai mission (which is not present in the other game btw) and the gameplay and everything. Ubisoft Shanghai did a great job creating a new gameplay experience that actually felt “new”. I completely enjoyed this version.
While there is a novelty to passing a level without disturbing guards, alot of the game is dumbed down that way. For example, alot of the interrogation dialogue is pretty funny and alot of the takedowns are neat so it's worth it to play both ways really.
"Dumbed down" - these words don't mean what you think they mean. It doesn't make the game any easier. It just means you miss some of the funny dialogue.

Had a dream about this mission of Double Agent last night after watching a Gameranx video. An all-time favourite, and one of the best stealth games ever for me
So I've grown up on Splinter Cell since the first one came out (I was only about 7 years old!) and you've inspired me to try and finally do them the right way. I've done Splinter Cell 1 and Pandora Tomorrow 100% already, and I just got 100% on the Bank and Lighthouse missions of Chaos Theory on Expert. I used my own routes and came up with my own strategies, but thank you for renewing my love for the series. Nothing more rewarding than seeing that 100%. Looking forward to the future vids man!
Im sure this is an odd video to post a comment on but i really wanted to get into Splinter cell and ive been watching your videos all day! =D I am 100% subbing!
I Love your stealth vids! right now im watching this series, and the original Xbox version series together to see the differences in gameplay . its amazing how the same game on 2 different platforms can be so different! I like the story of the OG XBOX version, but the graphics and visuals of the 360 version..
get a pc then you can pirate them off of ocean of games.com working fine multiplayer + all sound and cutscenes and no torrents just downloadable rar files that you extract and then open the exe file easy as
Me too... I didn't see anything at all. Weird. That's one of those things you REALLY have to have a lot of experience toying with the mechanics and structures of the A.I and level design and vis-versa. Incredible. All the more reason to give this video a thumbs up! And hopefully new-comers will subscribe and watch the entire Splinter Cell franchise on his channel; 100% stealth, 100% badass. If you're not playing it stealthily, you may as well not play Splinter Cell at all! Jk... but not really.
yes we are greedy lol you are actually the first I've come upon that actually does commentary, the others is just a walkthrough with notes in the game as they go along and your stealth is crazy awesome!
Just a piece of advice at the part where you have to steal Aswats notes. It's best to place the wall mine on the part of the wall that isn't able to be seen from where Aswats turns the corner to his room. I would place the wall mine right next to the door and for so many times a guard would shoot the mine and blow it up cause they saw it. The part I'm talking about is at 12:45 in the walkthrough. Right before you get to the plant. If you place it there no one can see the wall mine.
What killed the doctor, in this case. The wall mine that Centerstrain had put on the entrance of the room. Remember, it has to be a regular wall mine, it can't be a stunning wall mine or anything.
I tried the whole wall mine part so many times and every time when I got to the end and was waiting for Dr. Azwat to get killed by the mine one of the other guys got blown up instead so I eventually just started to attach the mine to the door instead and was able to get a kill every time. I was getting so pissed. Glad it worked out in the end and finally got a 100% rating.
@@marcelnowakowski5708 For me I attach the mine to the wall that goes inward where Aswat realistically can't see the mine because it's out of his sight worked even better. After you steal his notes you have to move right by the door to the room and wait a couple seconds to trigger his movement so he starts heading your way. I will say it's best to not save since you have that checkpoint because the save might throw everything off timing wise. Meaning when you have to extract Dr. Aswat might not make his way to the room because of glitches that happen in the game. Let me know how that works.
@@marcelnowakowski5708 Yeah I used Centerstrain's method for the most part but I managed to get my own way of taking Aswat out and it works every time. Like I mentioned, the glitches get you some times. One time I waited almost til my trust with the JBA was almost completely depleted and realized I had to restart from the checkpoint to get it right. I always have to do the follow up JBA mission right after I do this one. No shutting off my Xbox One and then doing it another day because even though I had stolen his notes the follow up mission after I started it up fresh one day acted like I didn't get his notes so I had to restart the whole previous mission just to get it right. Damn glitches.
When I did this mission I usually got down to the area by waiting for the elevators to come up to me and riding on top of them and when they would get down to their lowest points then I could still get to Dr. Aswat's room and it avoids the fall damage.
I know people love chaos theory but this game double agent is my favourite spilnter cell with all respect to chaos theory i think double agent is the best splinter cell game
Funny thing that happened to me when I played this mission. When I go to laser Mic the secret meeting, I accidentally pull out my Sonic noise shooter and it gives me a "WTF?" face when I see everyone just stand up and move around. It took me a few tries till I realized that. lol
this is a bug in the game ( PC version ), simply roll the mouse scroll to increase his speed while crouching or even standing before trying to crack the safe..ie: put him in run mode. It should work now :)
Is the ps3 version slightly different from the Xbox 360 or is it because I'm playing on normal? Reason I ask I've been following ur walkthrough and certain areas its like it doesn't exist. The part where u go behind the laundry room and climb the ladder to get a check point. I had to take the elevator because behind the laundry room its just a wall and nothing more. Lol just wondering
@@Wally17. I played both and I enjoyed the original Xbox version better. I just thought that one part on the ps3 compared to this walkthrough was slightly different at that one part. Oh well. Just recently finished S.C. blacklist.
@@michaeloberlander7888 like the first jba HQ on the Xbox 360 version you bug the antenna on the roof on the ps3 version you never go on the roof you go to a small room
Not a bad gameplay through this mission. But when I killed the doctor (actually I was playing on easy so I had ammo), I have used more than one strategy. The wall mine strategy at one time and I shot the doctor in the head from the room's entrance. Idk if it's possible to find ammo for the SC20K on this mission but, I shot the doctor, the NPC that was next to him... I can't exactly say if he was alerted or not but, after the mission, I still got 100%.
Believe it or not, I'm playing again at this game but I can't go further once I have taken the red mercury. The game crashes everytime I try to save, and even during autosaving. I'm using Windows 7 64 bits. It's really weird because I already finished this game years ago, and now I can no longer play. It makes me feel like getting the ps3 version but hey, I paid full price for that pc version and it sucks. Am I the only one who encountered that problem?
