50 years later and people are still leaving gifts for him crazy!
It's amazing how music makes musicians legends for years to come
@@Jay_Rule For some of us, music greatly informs who we are. So too the great architects of music help inform who we are.
If you knew Jimi the way i did, he's very unforgettable!
Rich or poor, we all end up in a coffin 6 feet under ground. Life is too short, tell your family how much you love them and enjoy the good memories as much possible.
John Titor you have the option for eternal life but not here, that’s completely up to the person if they choose to go after it.
I've been there, and had a good cry. I was 4 when he died, and it still hurts.
Thanks for watching
Can't blame u man his music is timeless..
Stay cool, Jimi. Hopefully see you one of these old afternoons. And *don't* be late ... Don't be late. R 🌠

Thanks for watching. I made a similar tribute to another legend that lived in Seattle: ruclips.net/video/Jlwyyuhup8w/видео.html
@Manuel Montiel. Jimi sings that line in Voodoo Child slight return
@@josephmorrow4082 yes, exactly those were Jimi's words .
Somewhere I heard or read, that
the afterlife is there to keep and preserve our beloved friends and family so we must not be saddened by their passing because we will
be able to someday reunite, there with them .
@@manuelmontiel5418 yes I agree with that also about the afterlife. I like that what u said😊
Thanks for posting this beautiful video!!! A real thing of beauty, just breath taking, Jimi was a very dear friend of mine and my then husband, last we saw him was 3 months b4 he died, the most horrible day of my life, and my husband's i took it VERYYYYY hard to say the least and my husband also, i almost had to be sedated, i remember that day, like it was yesterday...RIP Jimi....:'(

Wow. the trees are bigger. I used to live a few blocks from there, and I visited often.
Where do you live now?
@@Jay_Rule Further North. Renton isn't what it used to be. The highlands were nice, but that was a long time ago...... I lived there 20+ years ago....
Thx for posting great job
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks bro
No problem
I live across the street from this
Wow, what can I say. Greeting from South Africa.
I would literally go there everyday to pay respect if I lived across the road from Jimi Hendrix grave
This is the place where Jimi is buried? Or where his ashes are? Or is just a memorial?
Do you still?
Buried I believe
Hey thanks for posting this
Thanks. I did it so all of his fan from around the world can enjoy.
O maior guitarrista de todos os tempos.Viva Hendrix.
I wanna go give some gifts for him to bring into heaven.
How kind of you
For those of us who have seen Hendrix’s actual grave site, (this ain't it), this is taking it to the extreme in the other direction. I remember visiting his original grave site, which was very modest, and it made me a bit sad to think that such a great artist would have been buried in such an average grave with a very small marking stone embedded into the grass. It took us forever just to locate where he was buried. There was the usual guitar pics and cigarette butts surrounding the grave that was void of manicured grass. It also really brought to mind for me that he was just a guy with a family who loved him and it really put a human face to somebody we have idolized as superhuman. Obviously, since then, (this was the mid 1990s), his estate has stepped it up a notch or two. Obviously unearthing his coffin and moving it. I wonder though how Hendrix would feel about this. He was a very humble cat and would probably feel a little strange about such an over the top presentation….
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. What if is a great question to ponder. In comparison, Bruce Lee's memorial is much less elegant: ruclips.net/video/Jlwyyuhup8w/видео.html
I’ve gotta go there…
I assume you live in the Seattle area?
The sonic genius that was jimi Hendrix!
Thanks for watching!
@@Jay_Rule Thanks for posting. id love to go there some day, some of the sounds he extracted out his guitar were other wordly

Where do you live?
@@Jay_Rule upstate NY so basically the entire continent away :)
The "forever in our hearts" stone embedded in the larger cube was his original grave site marker in that cemetery for years, near a sundial
Good info
5:17 That shit hurts to see graffiti up like this...
I'm sure it already got cleaned up, quick trip to the store to right a wrong and bring back some love but still
Thanks for sharing this.

while you were driving towards the cemetery there was a noise like that of a panting German shepherd sitting in the back .
Thanks for share this video with as .👍
Good ear. I had my boxer dog Akira with me on this trip. RIP Akira.
If you can make it do it as early in the morning as possible. With a bit of luck you can spend time there alone. Just you and Jimi. ✌✌✌ Fly on.
Good idea but I've only been there once. It's not as often visited as Bruce Lee's memorial: ruclips.net/video/Jlwyyuhup8w/видео.html

This is his grave? Or is just a memorial? Thanks for this great video. Deeply emotional.
Hendrix died in 1970, at age 27, from an overdose of barbiturates. He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Renton, in the large memorial 100 yards south of the entrance; 350 Monroe Ave.

Very sad. He was a tortured soul while alive. I hope he knows peace.
Thanks for watching.
If music was a religion Jimi Hendrix was a god
Yes but there are so many music legends
@@Jay_Rule but there is no one like Jimi Hendrix
The recent photos of the memorial show a large guitar sculpture added to the memorial. I guess that was done after your video was made Jay? I can't decide if I prefer the memorial with or without the guitar. I'm glad it was filmed before the addition, so we can see what it was like.
Thanks for the info because I haven't been back since I made that video.
Like the buddhist incantation..nitrien daishonin I believe . I went to Seattle ..missed this wish I had known..very cool..maybe next time thanks! btw ..you got a dog in your car..I can hear a dog?

I know this is a silly question..I see the headstones of his relatives are buried along with him..but where is he actually? Underneath all the concrete you walked on?
Aurora Skywalker yes his sister is right next to him she passed in 2000
I believe so. Please confirm with Google.
Nice video. But the only place I take exception is that caption that states something to the effect of "although Jimi couldn't read or write music, he made a meteoric rise to success." The truth of the matter is that the vast majority of successful pop and rock musicians can't read music. It's not essential to do so in this genre of music.
I agree. I was just reading off the internet.
After 4 years (1946) his parents changed his name to "James Marshall Hendrix" in honor of his dead brother Leon Marshall.
Thanks for the history info
The Memorial is nice, but where is his actual grave&headstone?
That's the same thing I was wondering..I guess hes underneath all that stone that been built on top of him probably for safety reasons
Google says he's buried there
Exactly where Is the physical body Buried?? Is it here , in Washington??
I believe so
It's in that cemetary, I visited it in 86 when he just had a simple head stone with a guitar engraved in it.
was that your Dog ?
Yes
Who made this memorial happen?
Prob his family
hendrix lives on through randy hansen band ,

Where is the tomb of Jimi's biological mother Lucille?
Not sure
Buried
Should be in London where we loved him and where it all started
When I used to have the odd drink or two with Mitch Mitchell he always said Jimi felt welconed and loved in England

Is there a nirvana memorial
Funny you asked because I looked that up the other day. The Kurt Cobain Memorial Park is located in Aberdeen WA, which is over 2 hrs away from me.
That would be super if you were ever in tht city and visited it
Alex B Boss I thought about it because it's also by the Pacific Ocean and Olympic National Park.
He calls Jimi a "living legend" (4:43) How could that be when he died over 50 years ago?
Yes, it was wrong choice of words
did they cremate jimi where is his body
Underground.
I believe so
No not “a living legend” if he was you wouldn’t be in the cemetery visiting him would you!
You're right. I used the wrong terminology.
Wrong. Renton Washinton. Born in Renton.
Royce Lerwick no he’s from the cd bro he went to meanie middle school
dog sounds !
yes had my dog Akira in the car with me
Don't bring your dog.
I used to try to take her everywhere because we went to the park later. Akira has since passed away but you can watch more of her here: ruclips.net/channel/UCOkNVCfQ-GQmpWmj65Tp5Iwfeatured
