Adding those inversions adds an amazing sound to just those four chords. Hearing you play the basic rhythms using just one chord and it's inversions creates recognizable pieces of songs I have heard in my life.

Anyone wishing to learn piano online should look no further than Pianote. Yes, there are a lot of great piano courses available online, but Pianote by far is the best! Lisa is just one of many fantastic instructors! In just
18 months I went from zero to playing songs for family and friends with Pianote and I’m 67. I am so excited with where I’ll be 18 months from now! Oh, and the best feature of all is you can send videos of yourself playing and you get feedback!

This is the second video I watched on this channel. The first video was on how to accompany yourself on a piano while singing. I was so inspired by how powerful, simple and helpful the lessons being taught were for a beginner. Now, I had tears in my eyes as I followed along with this chord inversion exercise because it was so beautiful, relaxing, and fun. Another great video from an inspiring teacher. Bravo and thank you so much.

Hey Lisa - please can you expand on 'tracking your thumb'? Do you mean it's easiest to remember which note to hit with your thumb than it is which inversion 'shape' with your hand? Is there an easy way to remember which notes the thumb hits? I literally try and remember each inversion as the root note having a 2 note gap above or below it!
