Looking for a quick and easy project to add some glitz to your wardrobe? Check out the Bubble Block Earrings! Designer Kimrie Merrill created a blended cascade of RounDuo® Mini Beads, intermixed with Seed Beads, and capped with Potomac Crystal Rondelles. These earrings are perfect for dressing up or down, and make a great gift for any occasion!
Start with .006 beading thread and a size 10 needle. Check the holes in your beads and put a stop bead on the thread. Starting at the top of the earring and working your way down, create a pattern with the RounDuo minis and seed beads. End the row with a crystal and then work your way back up the row adding more seed beads as you go.
Add a crystal at the top and start down the second row with a RounDuo. When you get to the bottom you will add another crystal and seed bead and continue back up the row with the seed beads. Add a crystal at the top and complete your third row.
Tie the ends of the thread together and burn the thread edges. Place onto an earwire. For more detailed steps, watch the Bubble Block earrings tutorial.

Beautiful work. Potomac Bead is always so creative. Thanks for sharing this. I would like to make one with just two lines of beads in width. Do you think it would work if I just used 4 mm rounds, either pearls or crystals Instead of round duos? I also thought of doing it with honeycomb beads. Do you think either of these possibilities would work or both? Thanks again.

Such a beautifully simple earring design--thanks to Kimrie for the design and Allie for sharing the demo stitching with us. I think I'll be trying Allies's interpretation of the design with the DiscDuo's from the Oct. Best Bead Box!!
