For the first, DR, issue there is, in addition to the drag to the preview window, a keyboard shortcut for “Fit to fill”, you find it in the edit menu (on Mac it is shift-F11)
For FCP: try the Compound clip workflow for the audio. There is a Master and Roles act as busses.
Yes! Thank you. I do use that and also compounding the audio, just not a fan of working that way. Thanks for watching and the tip!
Well, the thing with Media Composer is you set things up from the start, and then you don’t have to think about again. I’m referring to the audio key frame example. You do that once and save your settings, and you never have to do it again.
That’s correct. And it’s best to save your settings and have access to them if you work on multiple stations. Still, those steps don’t exist in the other editors when it comes to key framing audio. Hope Avid refreshes that some day. MC is still a great editing app. Thanks for watching and commenting
For your first DR example… if you want the video part that you are adding in the gap then make sure the playhead is somewhere over the gap, drag your video, not to the timeline but to the preview window where you will get popup menu. Drop the video on “Fit to fill”if you want the clip to fill the gap, drop it on “Place on top” if you want the video on the track above. Btw, I’m not accepting this video on the Facebook page as I don’t find it informative but I suggest you join to ask questions.
That’s fine. Also, I know how to edit the clip in, the point of the video is to show that the thumbnail is not necessary and can be annoying. Thanks for your comment!
@@PaulMDiaz Paul, I’m not sure what version you are running , but when I drag the clip directly from preview to the timeline I get the thumbnail but I also get the clip, as it will show, in the timeline. You are probably on an outdated version and your “issue” is already resolved. I’m on 18.1 (Studio)…
@@fredstork I'm on 18.1 Fred. Using Mac OS. Thanks for the feedback. I made this video because it IS an issue that others have pointed out in BM's own forum. Thanks again!
