I notice you say it works great for beginners. Do you recommend the 145l for a 180lb beginner..? I am only just now learning harness and cannot water start yet. I regularly sail a 160l rental and uphaul it but I want to buy my equipment and everyone seems to discourage me from buying anything larger than a 145l saying I will outgrow anything larger too quickly.
Hi Ash, the Goya Volar is a great way to start the next step of windsurfing for you. It is a good board that is easy to use and has a great price. The 145 can be uphauled for sure if you are already uphauling on the rental 160. How much wind do you have where you are sailing? The Volar will last you a few years of learning the windsurfing skills. Learning the Waterstarts, Carve jibes, footstraps, planing will all be handled well with the Volar. @@bviehman Thanks for your reply I appreciate it! That is encouraging news to hear for sure. I've been going out at the same spot with winds ranging from hardly any, up to about 17. The issue is it is usually fairly choppy and it's the wave activity that can hinder me when it comes to uphauling. That's why I worry with a 145 and trying to uphaul in choppy water.

That is one of things Goya worked to improve was the early planing. So I would recommend the 2022
