Good question. Most of America is very safe. Some places you would need to be more careful, but that is like anywhere else in the world. Gun violence is a tragedy, but the news definitely escalates those. There are lots of things that kill more people each year (car crashes, disease, etc). Guns get very politicized too on both sides. America is also the 3rd largest country, so a big population is gonna have more incidents compared to smaller countries. Any place you go abroad will have various risks.

American constitution was written somewhere in 1780s when the right to carry guns was incorporated in as a fundamental right of every citizen during the break away from colonialism. Guns were inalienable to American culture even before that in the fight for independence. Now almost 250 years have passed, things have drastically changed. In a world of globalisation and multiculturalism of which America has remained at the centre and benefited a lot, don't you think it's high time to reform laws, namely 2nd amendment itself???

GPA and resume are both small parts of the job search equation. You need them, but they aren’t the determining factors for getting a job.
