Gosh - every true mechanic knows deep down in his heart that André Citorën, Renault, Panhard&Levassor and soooo many other French inventors and companies DID have great influence in the automobile as we know it today but it's sooo hard admitting it. I never get tired of wondering how companies that were there from almost the beginning until today and are valued as 'big players' still haven't got the hang of HOW to construct/develop a car right - I mean: they do almost everything differently and not in a good way ... so much time and knowledge spend, so few lessons learned. But yeah - PSA and Opel are quite the perfect match like Ford and VAG might become. I fix cars of any brand here in good 'ol Germany but if there is anything work releated that I almost scorn as much as VAG it is french cars and their (in my opinion) downright stupid philosophy behind engineering. The money you save by buying a Dacia or PSA you gonna invest tenfold in repair and for rental cars - I just love how most of the 'French community' makes fun about Daimler or BMW owners and how much money they wasted - sad truth is that most traditional premium owners of reliable platforms (don't gimme crap about 2-Series or wannabe luxury A-Class and stuff) are saving way more money and are putting down serious mileage with their cars without ever meeting troubles like the French enthusiasts in the first months of ownership. Well - to each his own ... Love what you love but don't point you fingers at others while you don't do any better than them ;-) As always - great honest commercial :-D
Peugeots need on time by the book maintenance and they last over 300k. Owned 4 Peugeots and 2 Renaults, not a single breakdown. Currently got a 5008 and last gen 308GTI. Looking forward to a 508 GT Sportswagon next year to retire the 5008.
What are you saying? The whole history of Citroen, of course with mistakes and exceptions liek every other car maker, is of innovation, the world's firsts and amazing cars like Citroen Traction Avant, DS, SM, Xantia, even the C5 and C6 were amazingly comfortable and reliable cars, the most comfortable in their respective classes... Why do people always have to sh*t on French cars I don't understand.
@@MrJonas7 Please re-read my post: I said that it IS common knowledge how many important innovations and inventions the french brands had. Of course there are many happy owners out there (nothing wrong about that) - my point of view (and distaste) is NOT rooted by ownership but by 'mere maintenance and repair' I get in touch with as mechanic (working on those cars is not quite the standard experience in my opinion) ;-) Yeah, comfort and luxury of DS, SM and so on are legendary but so are the horror stories about the repairs on the hydraulics and the Maserati engines when they get older :-( You're right: If you're dependent on a shop to get works and repair done and you 'just' drive your car you don't care (and see/know) that much (and as you said it shouldn't be much worse or better than any other brands) ... but if you get in touch more frequently with the 'other side' you will eventually see things differently.
@@Stag_Stopa Ok I get you, I know there were issues, but that can be said for thr Germans as well, for example the infamous BMW V8s that Idk if they even fixed now after 20 years. Actually the hydraulics in the last C5 or the C6 are very reliable, lasts for like 300,000 km stock, and even has some quite cheap replacement parts.
I've driven 2 Peugeots and my own Honda Accord. Out of those 2 Peugeots, my friends older 2005 307SW drove better than the almost brand new (my driving schools) 2021 Peugeot 208
As a Peugeot owner, I find this both fundamentally incorrect but at the same time completely true. They're just a different breed of car. If that's good or bad I'm not too sure, but as it currently stands I wouldn't swap my 308 too easily. p.s. I did in fact get a great deal - Mine was free as it was on the verge of dying!
When PSA bought FCA because let’s be honest they did. They said they aim to improve the reliability of FCA cars and when Peugeot says you need to be more reliable you know you messed up.

lol, we had a 1997 peugeot 205 and for an extra car it was fine. Love what you love but don't point you fingers at others while you don't do any better than them ;-)
As always - great honest commercial :-D
Peugeots need on time by the book maintenance and they last over 300k.
Owned 4 Peugeots and 2 Renaults, not a single breakdown. Currently got a 5008 and last gen 308GTI.
Looking forward to a 508 GT Sportswagon next year to retire the 5008.
My 230k 206 thats been abused like hell is still going strong, electronics are a bit wonky tho.
Of course there are many happy owners out there (nothing wrong about that) - my point of view (and distaste) is NOT rooted by ownership but by 'mere maintenance and repair' I get in touch with as mechanic (working on those cars is not quite the standard experience in my opinion) ;-) Yeah, comfort and luxury of DS, SM and so on are legendary but so are the horror stories about the repairs on the hydraulics and the Maserati engines when they get older :-(
You're right: If you're dependent on a shop to get works and repair done and you 'just' drive your car you don't care (and see/know) that much (and as you said it shouldn't be much worse or better than any other brands) ... but if you get in touch more frequently with the 'other side' you will eventually see things differently.
Proud of you these keep getting better and better
i've never even owned one and i know like half of this video is 100% accurate
No its not ;)
I've driven 2 Peugeots and my own Honda Accord. Out of those 2 Peugeots, my friends older 2005 307SW drove better than the almost brand new (my driving schools) 2021 Peugeot 208
the plastic part is true af so much fucking plastic
It is very accurate. Source: my dad owns one.
Everyone hates Peugeot until they drive d turbo 306
as an ex peugeot owner, this is 100% accurate, I mean they're alright I guess
no, they're not
@@JackWithASnack theyre alright sometimes, not most the time
@@JackWithASnackwagons are pieces of crap.
As a Peugeot owner, I find this both fundamentally incorrect but at the same time completely true. They're just a different breed of car. If that's good or bad I'm not too sure, but as it currently stands I wouldn't swap my 308 too easily.
p.s. I did in fact get a great deal - Mine was free as it was on the verge of dying!
lets go Dytastic uploaded a video
siuuuuuuu
Unironically got hyped when I saw it pop up in my feed
Damn, that hurts, Citroen Xantia Activa, Xsara WRC, 206 WRC, 205 T16, this is what you should have talked about 😂😭😭
Would've loved to see one of these about Holden!
No, why you stopping the commercial, they make me laugh so hard when I watch them please dont stop
Tbh whenever Stellantis buys a brand, the reliability tanks.
When PSA bought FCA because let’s be honest they did. They said they aim to improve the reliability of FCA cars and when Peugeot says you need to be more reliable you know you messed up.
ngl i luv these 2 too because my mum used to drive a peugeot 206 and i luv the 406 from the TAXI movie
aww man these are my two fav car brands
My dad owned a Peugeot 508. It's been 9 years since we owned the car, and so far it has broken down twice, cost over $1000 in repairs and maintenance, and yet my mum's 2006 Toyota Innova had no issues
I don't think 1000 in maintenance in 9 years is that terrible really
Nooooo, dont end plssss. The series is so epic
Don't stop we love it!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the honest commercial ever. Can u please do one on the lesser know brands
can't wait for the next one!
they're getting better. they actually look good now, the current 208 is an engine away from being incredible and the 9X8 whilst a not too successful race car is f*cking gorgeous
Man i love this series
"...but so was Ford, and their car basically ended the damn sport."
Lancia: **Sweats profusely**
You forgot the part *"yes, we also using the Italian Fiat Ducato design and shape in our Peugeot Boxer/Citroen Jumper, because why not?"*
why is everybody hating peugeot ,like i mean some cars are really bad but their hot hatches are good like the 205 gti ,508 pse ,308 gti
"pooiejewie / sit-tro-ehn"
best line ever
As an Iranian I can confirm that we love Peugeot
"we use so much plastic that we make cornhub look like a nature organisation" that killed me
Brilliant as always
lol, we had a 1997 peugeot 205 and for an extra car it was fine. I think we drove that car until 2014 when we traded it for a 2003 206 sw which also was a pretty good car. now we drive a ford as main car but a week ago we bought a 2009 peugeot 207 cc for me to drive my first kilometers in and it really is a nice car. we don't know yet how reliable it is but we'll be fine.
I don't hate peugeot as much as you do but it was a fun video!
Frenchman here, and 80% approval from me. Hilarious.
C'mon man, I love Peugeots! I have a '07 206 sedan, 1.4 liter, naturally aspirated, 75 bhp in silver, damn that care took care of me. Will never sell it (btw we just hit 227.000 km)
"Although our drivers arent any better-"
* me casually DYING of laughter *
This video is like your avarege peugeot parked on the side of the road... Fire 🔥🔥🔥
This was hilarious😂😂😂
However recent peugeot models are indeed revolutionary
"The next commercial will be the last one" ?
What ? No, i want to see more of them, please !!!
